7“

SOULSIDE - This Ship 7“ (dischord - This is the band's first new music since 1989 and was recorded during a brief run of European shows in autumn of 2019 at Jamor Studio in Prague with Ondrej Jezek. The 7" contains 2 songs, but comes with a download for 3 songs.) 7.00

SUPERCRUSH - Lifted / Melt Into You (Drift Away) 7“ (Although best known for playing in a long lineage of hardcore, punk, and metal bands, Mark Palm's focus has always been song- craft and pop sensibility. After finally embracing all that is sweet and sublime as the primary songwriter of San Francisco's shoegaze darlings MODERN CHARMS, Palm continues to explore the saccharine side of things with this latest project, SUPERCRUSH. ) 8.00

LP

ALLEN RAVENSTINE - Electron Music / Shore Leave LP (Waveshaper Media is thrilled to present Electron Music/Shore Leave, a new LP by former Pere Ubu synthesist and electronic music trailblazer, Allen Ravenstine. The LP is comprised of two EPs (1 per vinyl side), the first two parts in Raventine’s new Tyranny of Fiction series. Waveshaper Media first came into contact with Ravenstine when we interviewed him in 2012 for our modular synthesizer documentary I Dream Of Wires. ) 22.00

ANNA BURCH - If You're Dreaming LP (polyvinyl - When Anna Burch introduced herself on her 2018 debut Quit the Curse, it was with a concentrated wash of energetic, serotonin-boosting pop. Jangly guitars, blithe vocal harmonies and an occasional undercurrent of grungy fuzz all converged in seemingly straightforward songs that hid their complexities under sunny hooks. The impact of the songs was immediate and exciting, presenting narratives of confusion and upheaval with melodies so bright it was hard to do anything but smile. Two years later, Burch’s follow up If You’re Dreaming takes us down a different path than its predecessor, shedding some nervous energy in favor of a deeper exploration of an internal world. If You’re Dreaming was tracked with producer Sam Evian in his home studio in the Catskill mountains of upstate New York. Where the first album had been a rush of inspired songwriting followed by a drawn-out process of arrangement and mixing, Burch and Evian worked with self-imposed time limitations to establish a sharper focus and get to the core of the new songs. With recurring themes of isolation, weariness and longing, these songs deliver that emotional arc with a delicate but uncompromising execution. Burch’s intrinsically catchy songwriting dials down the urgency of her debut a notch, taking a turn towards airy, jazz-voiced chords, floating reverb and an expansion of the sonic palate with unexpected instrumentation.) 25.00

AOIFE NESSA FRANCES - Land of No Junction LP (bason - • Debut release by Dublin songwriter who writes gauzy psych pop songs, for fans of Broadcast, Nico - On the eponymously titled final song of her debut album Land of No Junction, Irish songwriter Aoife Nessa Frances sings “Take me to the land of no junction/Before it fades away/Where the roads can never cross/But go their own way.” This search, indeed the heart of the album, recalls journeys towards an ever shifting centre - a centre that cannot hold - with maps that are constantly being rewritten.) 25.00

BETON COMBO - Perfektion ist Sache der Götter LP (static age - This record has been one of the last missing pieces in the puzzle of early german punk classics. The original artwork has been complemented with a 20 page booklet, including pictures, collages and documents from the band‘s treasure box, and remastered by Daniel Husayn. Recorded 1981 at MusicLab Studio by Harris Johns and released by Aggressive Rockproduktionen this LP has passed the test of time, propagated on countless mixtapes throughout the years and perpetually covered by a new generation of bands. The eager will to fight, pressed into the form of music with clear political statements and not a sign of resignation and there‘s no other way punk out of KZ36 could have sounded. After 40 years this record is still spreading the same stench that could only be found in wall city. Kreuzberg is alive – maybe in another way as back in the day, but now at last you can hear how it sounded. ( K-H STILLE )) 16.00

BUBBLE JUG - Anthology LP (belladonna - Bubble Jug was a band from Northern Virginia that was active between 1992 and 1995. They were one of a handful of bands to pioneer a form of hardcore/punk with screamy, abrasive vocals.) 18.00

THE COATHANGERS - The Coathangers LP (col. vinyl) (suicode squeeze - Fourteen years ago, four young Atlanta women picked up instruments without any prior musical experience or lofty aspirations and decided that they were going to start a band so that they could play a friend’s party. The house-show led to more shows around town, and the fiery live sets of this feisty new band known as The Coathangers begat a self-titled album. Recorded during a single graveyard shift at a local studio and mixed the following night, The Coathangers was a raw, rowdy, and revelrous affair. What it lacked in polish it made up for in its undeniable energy and charisma. “We didn’t think anyone was going to listen to it,” says vocalist/guitarist Julia Kugel. “We knew our friends in Atlanta would get it, but we didn’t think it was going to go anywhere. We were just excited to make a record.” Little did Kugel or her bandmates—vocalist/drummer Stephanie Luke, bassist/vocalist Meredith Franco, and keyboardist Candice Jones—know that their scrappy house show-anthems would catch on, prompting years of international tours, a slew of excellent LPs and singles, and, eventually, a deluxe remastered version of their boisterous, long out-of-print debut, The Coathangers.) 26.00

DANIEL JOHNSTON - fun LP (org -Daniel Johnston’s major label debut Fun was originally released in 1994 on Atlantic Records while he was housed in a mental institution. Featuring some of Daniel’s finest songwriting and boasting the most “accessible” sound of his eccentric and deep catalog, producer Paul Leary (Butthole Surfers) eloquently preserves the singer/songwriter’s earnest appeal and wraps it in sympathetic musical support. The aspiring cartoonist’s playful, symbol-heavy sketches have graced many of his album covers, including Fun.) 26.00

DEZRON DOUGLAS & BRANDEE YOUNGER - Force Majeure LP (international anthem . Force Majeure is an uplifting suite of real, soulful comfort music – an album that cathartically encapsulates an all-too-familiar human experience of 2020. Featuring 11 pieces performed by bassist Dezron Douglas & harpist Brandee Younger across a series of live-streamed shows from their living room in Harlem, NY, the album was self-recorded by the duo using just a single microphone. ) 26.00

DOLDREY - Invocation Of Doom LP (iron lung - After a scorching demo in 2018, Singapore's DOLDREY have seen fit to unleash a hellish alchemical concoction of scraping hardcore and HM2 death metal riffs over a whiplash of pogoed out D-beats. Imagine CARNAGE covering S.H.I.T./ZOUO songs with the creepy crawl parts from HOAX or DARKTHRONE's slower tunes. Suffice it to say that it is hard punk for metalers AND street tough metal for punks. Classic styles combined to make modern sounds. Sick.) 20.00

CURRAN / LANERI / SCHIAFFINI / UITTI / ACKERMANN / TOMMASO - Beat 72 Lost Date LP (An unearthed treasure from the '70s Italian avant garde archives! A previously unreleased recording from the legendary Beat72 club in Rome in 1973, featuring a one-off Italian-American all-star ensemble with Roberto Laneri founding member of the experimental vocal group Prima Materia, maverick American composer Alvin Curran co-founder of Musica Elettronica Viva. Trombone specialist Giancarlo Schiaffini from the historical Gruppo di improvvisazione Nuova Consonanza. Cello virtuoso Frances Marie Uitti, close collaborator of the likes of J. Cage and G. Scelsi. Bassist Bruno Tommaso from the legendary Gruppo Romano Free Jazz and American composer Tony Ackerman from the obscure Suonosfera group. Highly creative music which defies categories and boundaries. A historical document! Additional booklet contains extensive liner notes and photos.) 22.00

EYELESS IN GAZA - Caught In Flux DLP (spittle. Spittle Records present a reissue of Eyeless In Gaza's Caught In Flux, originally released in 1981. Inspired by a weird mixture between Aldous Huxley's visionary work and some biblical myths, Eyeless In Gaza, (formed in 1980) are one of the most original and creative bands emerging from the early '80s British post-punk scene. An intimate duo line-up featuring Martyn Bates (vocals, guitar, organ) and Peter Becker (drums, bass, synth). Caught In Flux originally released in 1981 on Cherry Red and reissued here in its original format LP+12" is their second album. The result of a one-take studio session with no overdubs. A perfectly balanced combination of various elements arising from post-punk, art rock, ambient music, and psychedelia. This was an important step towards a form of music where all these influences were organically integrated into a highly purified sound experience.) 25.00

EMMA RUTH RUNDLE & THOU - May Our Chambers Be Full LP (sacred bones - Stemming out of an offer from Roadburn Festival organizer Walter Hoeijmakers, mutual acquaintances, and a shared love of each other’s output, May Our Chambers Be Full is the first recorded document of collaboration between Emma Ruth Rundle and Thou. While their solo material seems on its face to be quite disparate, both groups have spent their respective careers lurking at the outer boundaries of the heavy metal scene, the artists having more in common with DIY punk and its spiritual successor, grunge. May Our Chambers Be Full straddles a similar, very fine line both musically and thematically. While Emma Ruth Rundle’s standard fare is a blend of post-rock-infused folk music, and Thou is typically known for its downtuned, doomy sludge, the conjoining of the two artists has created a record more in the vein of the early ’90s Seattle sound and later ’90s episodes of Alternative Nation, while still retaining much of the artists’ core identities. Likewise, the lyrical content of the album is a marriage of mental trauma, existential crises, and the ecstatic tradition of the expressionist dance movement. “Excessive sorrow laughs. Excessive joy weeps.” Melodic, melancholic, heavy, visceral. The visual art accompanying this work was created in collaboration with preeminent New Orleans photographer Craig Mulcahy. The faceless, genderless models are meant to emphasize this pervasive state of ambiguity and emotional vacillation, the images falling somewhere between modern high fashion and classical Renaissance. FFO: Julia Kristeva, Ellen Jane Rogers, EM Cioran, Thomas Ligotti, Ryan Holiday, Mary Wigman, Isodora Duncan, pre-Republican Lisa Kennedy Montgomery. ) 24.00

FAITH - Live At CBGB's LP (Recorded live in December of 1981, opening for the Bad Brains, this LP is 2 complete sets and it captures the bands incredible live energy. Pressed on color vinyl.) 25.00

HUM - Inlet DLP (polyvinyl - Completely unexpected, the first album in 22 years from the gigantically influential, semi-legendary HUM. A genuine Album Of The Year contender, and possibly their finest ever, it mixes their super-heavy / epic sound into elements of drone and shoegaze, with their trademark almost-sighed vocals. Longtime fans will in no way be disappointed; newcomers with a penchant for post-rock, emo, math rock and even doom metal will see what all the fuss has been about! "The band is extremely thankful for the kindness we have received over the years, and we hope everybody is happy and well.“ The new album is an eight-track release that should appease fans of the band's '90s output. Highlights include the album opener "Waves," the hypnotically epic "Desert Rambler," the dark yet crushing "The Summoning" and the slow ebbing closer "Shapeshifter." - Loudwire) 35.00

JOSHUA ABRAMS - Natural Information LP (aguirre - Joshua Abrams’ first Natural Information album from 2010, superb avant-jazz. Released in an edition of 999 copies on 180gr. In his book Powershift, published in 1990, writer and businessman Alvin Toffler predicted that the century ahead would be defined by speed and that time itself is destined to become our most valuable commodity. When Joshua Abrams recorded Natural Information, originally released by Eremite in 2010, he was reacting against such commodification of time and the diminishing attention span that accompanies it by offering music with an irresistible groove, rooted in the sinuous rhythms of the human body and the full play of our senses.) 26.00

JOSHUA ABRAMS - Represencing LP (aquirre - Joshua Abrams' second album with group from 2012, superb avant-jazz. Released in an edition of 999 copies on 180gr. vinyl. With the release of Natural Information in 2010, Joshua Abrams entered into a new phase of his creative life, making music with a deep involving groove that communicates the pulsating energies of the human body and the incessant kaleidoscopic interplay of sensory perceptions.  Represencing, recorded in Chicago in the summer of 2011 and originally released the following year by Eremite, was the next stride along this exhilarating path.) 26.00

KACEY JOHANSING - The Hiding LP (night bloom - After the breakup of her band Yesway, and an abrupt falling out with her closest musical collaborator, Johansing set out to record a new batch of songs that resulted from the sea change in which she had now found herself. Instead of drawing from her regular band, Johansing pulled from a wider cast of players that she’d come to know in the community of musicians throughout California and the West Coast. The resulting sound is one based wholly and unabashedly in pop. Nods to Christine McVie and Fleetwood Mac can be heard, but Johansing brings these sounds to a modern stage, blending her ethereal vocals with effervescent synthesizer washes and reverberating open-tuned guitar. Recorded at Panoramic House in Stinson Beach, where Kacey worked as caretaker, as well as at home in Bolinas, on a ridge above the cloud layer in Big Sur, and at a friend’s studio in Portland, the album also serves as a document of Kacey’s time spent traveling in search of the sound she was after. After finishing initial tracking, and still reeling from the heartbreak of losing her musical community, Johansing found a necessary move was in order. Landing somewhat-blindly in Los Angeles, she continued to work on the album and hold it close. The end result is The Hiding, a tone poem about loss, growth and “leaving the insular beauty of a tight-knit community,” as Johansing describes it. The Hiding is released on Night Bloom Records, a label Johansing founded with Real Estate’s Alex Bleeker and longtime-friend and songwriter Jeff Manson.) 22.00

KAMIXLO - Cicatriz LP (col. vinyl) (PAN - RED VINYL Kamixlo has experienced a lot of loss in the last two-and-a-half years. His long-awaited debut LP, Cicatriz, is named after the Spanish word for "scar", taking its intense and energetic tone from the tough times in the Brixton-based producer's life. An extremely personal album that follows 11 songs with titles like "Sick", "Poison" and "Destruction", it pitches soft and hard sonics against each other to create an urgent and exciting tension as the track listing hurtles through its own emotional rollercoaster. It runs from the lurching drone and monstrously distorted vocal samples of opener "The Coldest Hello (Live From The Russian Spiral)" to the bright and melodic kosmiche-reggaeton closer of "Azucar" ('sugar'), produced with Swedish cloud rap producer Woesum. Only just past his mid-20s, Kamixlo has been making a name for himself with his dembow and bass-influenced dance deconstructions, releasing three EPs since 2015, as well as running the recently defunct Bala Club party and label, named after Japanese pro wrestling group Bullet Club. The night was an inclusive operation that established its own unique style of cross-genre post club music for the margins, while allowing Kamixlo the space to develop his soundâÇ"one that was imbued with its own pop immediacy, as well as smatterings of emo, electro and hardcore. British-Chilean Kamixlo's Cicatriz is rife with surprising references. These include the thumping industrial of "The Burning Hammer Bop" - taking its title from one of the most dangerous professional wrestling moves ever invented - and the growling sub bass of "DKD Lethal" - named after DJ Lethal of famous nu metal band Limp Bizkit. Meanwhile, long-time collaborator, producer and Endless party founder Felix Lee appears on the scrambled rhythm and cut-up sampling of "Demonic Y". As the saying goes, there's no pleasure without pain, no resurrection without destruction, and Cicatriz is all these things at once. The album is mastered by Beau Thomas, featuring artwork by Daniel Swan.) 25.00

DIE LETZTEN ECKEN - Die letzten Ecken LP (static age - 6 Kraut klassics broadcast from deep out in the spacelab, where the sun don’t shine and noone can hear you scream... so you beep, whizz and chant monotone commands at the control board while the days turn into eternity and suddenly you can’t tell if it’s Berlin 2020 or West Germany ‘79.. With an enthusiasm and charm that brings to mind the early transmissions of cross border comrades DAF and F242 (I said “early”!) the execution is perfect. This is what languages like French and German were invented for and it’s delivered here ice cold. ( Daryl Sulfate / Diät / Clock of Time )) 16.00

LLOYD MILLER - At the Ends of the World (with Ian Camp and Adam Michael Terry) LP (fountainAVM - Doc Lloyd Miller returns with his signature and timeless Spiritual Jazz and World/Cultural Music trademarks, as well as inviting a few contemporary sensibilities contributed by himself and collaborators Ian Camp and producer Adam Michael Terry. Expanding upon Miller's distinctive Academic, Persian and Far-Eastern Jazz Fusion into territories of New Age, Minimalism, Modern Classical, Ambient, and even hints of Psychedelic Folk with the opening song "The Summoning". Proudly extending Lloyd's already unique and massive music pallet that has been documented on his esoteric 60's records and self-released CDs over the decades, we anticipate his fans around the world will be pleased to hear familiar stylings as well as some evolved ideas. Recorded late summer 2019 down in Lloyd Miller's basement, "At the Ends of the World" is a prophetic expression of the social and cerebral atmospheres that Miller personally predicted for the pestilence of 2020. The album reflects a moody dichotomy between the increasingly doomed world and the musician's attempts to heal with divine music and cultural beauty.) 30.00

MAC BLACKOUT - Love Profess LP (tIM - Mac Blackout, a.k.a Chicagoan Mark McKenzie has been on the fringes of the Chicago music scene for two decades now, whether blasting brains in scuzz-punk bands The Functional Blackouts & Daily Void or as wild-eyed frontman for glam-punks Mickey. While his solo recordings as Mac Blackout have traditionally followed along the same path of KBD-infused, sci-fi punk rock, his new instrumental solo album (and first for Trouble In Mind), "Love Profess" offers listeners a new side. "Love Profess" is Blackout's first solo album in seven years, the result of - in his own words: "...years of artistic growth and preparation. Five years ago I shifted my focus from music to visual art, embarking on a creative and spiritual journey, finding new and evolved artistic visions through many mediums." Indeed as his art career has blossomed, the creative musical ideas & a budding interest in free jazz & avant garde music have flourished & guided his output toward something altogether different; stripped down minimal pop songs & analog synth excursions laced with a healthy dollop of free jazz & avant-musical expression. Blackout says "This break from solo music creation resulted in years of internalized ideas, unexpressed energy, and the calling to explore new creative directions musically." These creative directions converged at the beginning of 2020 as Blackout began to record "Love Profess". ) 22.00

NO MAN - Erase LP (col. vinyl) ("NØ MAN is a four piece band from Washington, D.C. who formed in 2017, from the looks of things.  NØ MAN features members of Majority Rule, so going on that alone you know you're in for some really devastatingly awesome music.  NØ MAN play a vicious and brutal as fuck style of music that incorporates elements of hardcore, punk, screamo, and noise rock within their sound.  Since forming in 2017, NØ MAN have released an eight song LP titled Devils Cast Long Shadows in July of 2018 and a cassette single titled Cut Out in July of 2019.  Erase is NØ MAN's latest LP, which was released on August 24th, 2020.  On Erase, NØ MAN offer up eight tracks of killer hardcore, punk, screamo, and noise rock.  Overall, Erase makes for an awesome listen and definitely should not be missed.  Highly recommended!“) 20.00

OWEN - the avalanche LP (polyvinyl - Mike Kinsella’s work over the years with his various musical endeavors has been nothing short of foundational, from early days with Cap’n Jazz right up until recently with American Football’s unforeseen and excellent second act. Even with his long list of contributions to course-setting bands, Kinsella never reveals more of his internal world than he does with the softly drawn songs of his long-running solo project Owen. With new album The Avalanche, he delivers a set of Owen songs that are the most straightforward and unguarded the project has ever been. To record The Avalanche, Kinsella reunited with producer Sean Carey (Bon Iver, Peter Gabriel) and engineer Zach Hanson (The Tallest Man On Earth, Waxahatchee) and decamped to snow-covered Hive Studio in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, just far enough away from the routines and distractions of daily life to really focus on the process. Echoes of the lo-fi bedroom balladry that defined early Owen come through on the heart-crushing “I Should Have Known,” familiar open-tuned acoustic guitars and weary vocals supported by glowing string arrangements. “On With The Show” is bounding and upbeat, with a jangly instrumental standing in stark contrast to lyrics about crushing failure. KC Dalager from Now, Now contributes guest vocals to several songs, most notably the glacially paced album centerpiece “Mom and Dead.” Easily the most intense Owen album, The Avalanche is also the most beautifully crafted. Kinsella goes deeper than ever before, with self-reflection so painfully blunt it’s sometimes difficult to look at head on. It’s a guided walk through one of life’s more difficult chapters, resulting in nine of the best Owen songs ever penned and an album that’s as heartbreaking as it is magnificent.) 25.00

PEZ - Killology LP (belladonna - World Within Skin" is the debut vinyl release by Gainesville's PeZ. Crushing mix of thrash, psychedelic punk and post punk awesomeness. Former members of Frameworks. On clear vinyl with an etching on the b-side. Cover is screen printed with silver ink on black paper on a special double fold over cover. Pressing limited to 250. Comes with a download code. ) 18.00

PHANTOM HORSE - Mehr Null LP (pink vinyl) (urmor rex - The Hamburg / Nijmegen based duo of Ulf Schuette and Niklas Dommaschk is indeed moving nearer to zero: the arrangements are less illuminated; there’s a significant nod to JD Emmanuel’s working class vision of minimalism. Hitherto walking in the kraut tradition (but moving away more and more), Phantom Horse heads toward the synth swamps where the old-fashioned shamanic disco is not yet abandoned. From the light green melancholy of “Owl” to the unexpected playfulness of the title track, the duo has obviously worked hard on leaving things out. Still, there’s light-footed magic like in “Common Magic”, the background music for a comet rain coming into your world. You can find hints to the lower-key film scores by Tangerine Dream, but Phantom Horse’s approach fits more into a factory building where sad robots are working their night shifts on a sea horse machine. It’s the perfect soundtrack to the non hungover day after.) 24.00

POST TEENS - Exitos LP (tiger - Killer discography collection from Post Teens! Plus five brand new songs! All Songs Recorded at Black Bear Studios in Gainesville, Florida Between 2011 - 2019 by Ryan Williams and Matt Finch.) 18.00

SHEER TERROR - Hässlich und Stolz LP (superhero - RED COVER / VINYL - Hässlich & Stolz presents the street kings from New York with a classic set in a never before heard clear sound, which goes right into your face and still doesn't lose any of its early nineties feeling! It becomes immediately clear, the Rose Tattoo of hardcore is called Sheer Terror and everyone who loves the real old outsider and street dog sound should take it without hesitation!) 23.00

VILE CREATURE - Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! LP (prostethic - With a determination to push back against apathy, VILE CREATURE have confidently molded a five track missive that is teeming with conviction and visceral emotion, and is streaked through with an emerging glow of optimism. Glory, Glory! Apathy Took Helm! remains embedded in the oppressive sounds of doom and metal, only now the album is enclosed in a luxurious veil of majestic embellishment, given room for growth, light, and air to reach the darkest, grimiest corners of the band's psyches.) 25.00

THE WARSAW PAKT - Needle Time LP + 7“ (Real high-energy rock’n’roll in its most potent form is best captured live and in the moment. Maximum thrills, minimum frills. In 1977, London’s Warsaw Pakt took that premise one step further, recording their album live, straight through, direct to the cutting lathe. The blazing urgency of the band’s performance, combined with a set of edgy, memorable songs makes “Needle Time” one of the most exciting releases of the ‘70s punk era. It’s also one of the most neglected) 26.00

TAPES

1990BLING - The Jewelist TAPE (The underground veteran 1990bling is back with another beat tape of jewels for the masses. Classic Boom Bap Beats produced solely on the Roland sp404.) 11.00

ADAM MICHAEL TERRY - Path-Waves and Currents TAPE (fountainAVM - This 4track recorded project is inspired by adventure trips into the wilderness regions of Utah and Arizona, and exploring the skateparks in these remote areas. Combining synthesizers, and live instruments with a “Nu Age” approach.) 11.00

APPLEGREEN - Hymns and Chants TAPE (fountainAVM - Hymns and Chants is a further exploration into the idea of blending modern and primitive sounds into an amalgam of textural electronica. Inspired by musicians such as Roberto Musci and those who have contrasted ethnographic recordings with modern electronic sounds. Applegreen’s approach is rooted in sample based hip hop production but for Hymns and Chants, his compass was set for outlying territory. In the process, Tyler Van Der Stappen was brought in to play live instrumentation to further blur the boundry of where sample based music starts and live instruments ends.) 11.00

CAP'N JAZZ - Burritos, Inspiration Point, ... TAPE (polyvinyl - Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over is Cap'n Jazz's first and only full-length album, originally released in 1995 on Man With Gun Records. Undoubtedly one of the most influential albums ever to be released (if not of all time, then definitely of 1995), Burritos... has spawned more bands than words in its title. Often shortened to just Shmap’n Shmazz, the record was released when the members — Tim Kinsella, Mike Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, Sam Zurick, and Davey von Bohlen — were mere teenagers, with future bands such as American Football, The Promise Ring, Joan of Arc, Owls, Owen and more but a twinkle in the eye of their collective discographies.) 14.00

CONCISE KILGORE - Prom Ride TAPE (fountainAVM - Debut instrumental album by underground rap legend Concise Kilgore. A dystopian Prom Ride soundtrack for any old school whip with a tape deck and boomin system. A medley of influences shape Concise's palette, from New Wave, Boogie, Mid 80's hiphop, Deep House, to Future Beats, Lo-fi and even hints of Smooth Southern Cali Yacht Rock.) 11.00

FINALE GRAND - Baroque Beats TAPE (fountainAVM - Instrumental HipHop album. Two 30 minute suites of classic hip hop beats by Finale Grand. Produced and meticulously arranged specifically for tape cassette. This project documents Finale Grand's return to form and the music of his youth as he revisits the dusty crates of his record collection, and showcases his Beatmaking skill-set and music knowledge. Stacking loops of gritty break beats, filtered bass-lines, echoing horns, and obscure vocal samples.) 11.00

WILD ANIMALS - B-Sides 10“ (walking still - It consists of two unreleased songs recorded during the sessions for the band ́s last album “ The Hoax” and a slightly different mix of “Interrupted Girl” with a little sur- prise at the end. The vinyl’s got the 3 tracks on one side and a silkscreened illustration on the other. Limited to 500 10” vinyl copies with a silkscreened picture on the B side - 200 clear transparent vinyl / 300 black vinyl) 14.00

LP

ANNA HÖGBERG ATTACK - Lena LP (onlott - "A primal force of something... real. I have listened back and forth to the new album of Anna Högberg's “Attack” numerous times now and it hit me like a split axe in a split second: this music is for real! Wham Bam! This is liberating music. Allowing music. It hits me just as the split axe hits the wood. Without hesitation, but still very sensitive. Pure power does not cut the wood automatically. No fancy flirts with post-this and post-that. Just the force. Of itself. This music is definitely connected to something. Nature? Life? The nooooooow! Having visited Anna and her family in the north of Sweden recently to make an interview with her – and a solo sax shoot - for a film project on the late Bengt “Frippe” Nordström, it hit me already then. Her connection to something deeper is for real. As real as the split axe outside of their house. Snapshot: Anna in her beloved Helly Hansen- outfit. Short hair and boots. Playing up on a cliff with the forest in her back. The sea below her. Her support and inspiration. Anna lives with her family on the verge of 'Höga Kusten' (the High Coast) – famous for the ultimate delicacy Surströmming (Sour herring) and wild Ice-hockey-related-behaviors. It is pretty obvious to me where she draws some of her inspiration from.) 25.00

ATMOSPHERE - To All My Friends, Blood Makes the Blade Holy - The Atmosphere EP's DLP (rhymesayers - "To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy" on vinyl for the first time ever, 2xLP with all new artwork and packaging designed and illustrated by Dave Quiggle! Similar to their now-legendary Lucy Ford release, Atmosphere had originally conceived To All My Friends, Blood Makes The Blade Holy as two separate EP's (To All My Friends and, of course, Blood Makes The Blade Holy). Much like Lucy Ford, the desire to simplify the concept for the sake of tour merchandising and retail distribution led them to join the two EP's together, packaged onto one CD. However, unlike Lucy Ford, neither of these individual EP's were ever made available for purchase on vinyl _ though the most attuned fan would point out there was a very limited pressing of the To All My Friends EP tucked inside the first deluxe print edition of photographer Dan Monick's photo essay book, 7 Years With Atmosphere, but that vinyl was never sold separately, much less granted packaging or artwork. Another likeness this release shared with Lucy Ford was that these two EP's worked so well together, one would never guess they weren't conceived as one cohesive project_and a powerful one at that. While it was never touted as an "album" (sales and marketing channels were explicitly informed this was intended to be a tour CD only, "but we love our retail friends too"), the caliber of music on this release stands with anything else from Atmosphere's catalog. Hard-hitting tracks like "Until The Nipples Gone" and "The Loser Wins" brought a commanding energy to the project, as well as their live performances, while "The Best Day", one of the most popular songs from Atmosphere's entire catalog with its honest and upbeat message of humility, was also featured on this release. As much as they may have underplayed the initial release, it's hard to overstate the relevance of this project or the staying power these songs have had.) 27.00

CORTEX A9 - Basic Housekeeping - Order. LP (Music By – Dan Johansson (Sewer Election) , Frederikke Hoffmeier (Puce Mary), Hugo Randulv. Swedish noise explorations par excellence!) 25.00

ELI WINTER - The Time To Come LP (worried songs - ‘The Time To Come’ is the first release from Worried Songs and the striking debut from twenty-one-year-old, Texan (now residing in Chicago), Eli Winter, noted as one of the Guardian’s ‘artists to watch in 2020’. These masterfully composed instrumental pieces for six-string, twelve-string, and electric solo guitar showcase the raw talent of this young guitar powerhouse. ) 24.00

ERAI - Only Future LP (life is a - With most of the band members being in their 40s, the band itself considers their music a nod to 90s emotive hardcore and 90s diy attitude, embracing open-mindedness, positivity, communal spirit and fun. After a rather melancholic and regretful look at what’s now over (“Before We Were Wise And Unhappy”), the new EP centers around the idea of allowing oneself an undimmed look towards all that has not yet happened.) 14.00

THE EX - History Is What's Happening LP (superior viaduct -The second album by The Ex (originally released in 1982) "Musically, they sound like a rather more melodic version of Crass; politically, they are a lot harder and their lyrics are excellent... An unashamed political manifesto." "20 short songs, and this music is not pogo, but, hm, rather unusual. A signpost diversion from punkrock.“) 25.00

THE EX - Disturbing Domestic Peace LP + 7“ (superior viaduct . Reissue of The Ex' first album, originally released in 1980. This album comes with free bonus live 7" "Live~Skive" (on Eh Records). Includes 20-page A5 booklet and poster. "This is prime stuff. It's primitive when compared with their current wide-ranging output, but even then they were embellishing their their scratchy politico-punk with some interesting instrumental touches. Morse code keyboards, a chipped-flint guitar sound, distorted vocals, and the rhythm section's implacable forward motion make this worth a listen even if you don't care what they had to say." "What makes them interesting, is their original musical approach, not hindered by technical ingenuity.“) 25.00

GANSER - Just Look At That Sky LP (yellow vinyl) (felte - Growth with no reward. Finding strength in your less desirable traits. Coming up with the perfect comeback hours later in bed, glaring at the ceiling. Asking yourself: am I improving, or am I just changing into something unrecognizable? Chicago quartet Ganser probe the futility of striving for self-growth during the chaos of our times for dark comedy and jagged sounds on their potent new album Just Look at That Sky. ) 25.00

JON COLLIN - Music From Cassettes, Etc. 2008-2017 LP (A collection of material from old cassettes, CD-r releases etc from the English guitarist Jon Collin. Now based in Stockholm, Sweden, Collin has besides issuing several limited releases on his own Winebox Press/Early Music imprints also released several volumes of the ongoing 'Water And Rock Music' series on Feeding Tube Records. Swirling and absolutely mesmerizing instrumentals often incorporating field recordings, alternating between acoustic and electric modes. 'Music From Cassettes' was initiated after witnessing Jon Collin perform at a birthday party in Gothenburg 2019, one of the last truly memorable pre-Covid shows in town. Pulling shining diamonds from his discography and putting them in a new context with more recently recorded segments, Collin has carefully edited and sequenced the recordings to flow like a album. Pressed in 300 copies. Insert with liner notes by Byron Coley and Jon Collin. Vinyl master by Giuseppe Ielasi. Fördämning Arkiv 6. "From 'John Train's Blues', with its classic Charalambides amp-hover, to 'Was That Me (Part 2)', which sounds like what might have happened if Manfred Eichner had asked a bumblebee to record a solo album in '74, to 'From the Portico Library', which builds a sky-bridge between Hendrix and Connnors, the music here is unifomrly superb." - Byron Coley’) 25.00

JOSEPH ALLRED - The True Light LP (worried songs - Joseph Allred, or occasionally known as his alter-perspective, Blind Faulkner, is a Tennessee-born multi-instrumentalist, now residing in Massachusetts, who has received critical acclaim for his seemingly endless slew of incredible records, most of which showcase his talent for all things stringed. Here, Worried Songs presents the initially private-pressed masterwork, ‘The True Light’, taking its name from the Gospel of John, a haunting lament for solo-harp guitar. ) 24.00

JOSHUA ABRAMS - Represencing LP (aguirre - Joshua Abrams' second album with group from 2012, superb avant-jazz.

KAMASI WASHINGTON - Becoming LP (Kamasi Washington composed and produced the original score for Becoming, the four time Emmy-nominated film that provided an intimate glimpse into the life of Michelle Obama. Produced by Netflix Originals, Becoming documented a moment of profound change for the former First Lady, not only for her personally but for the country she and her husband served over eight impactful years in the White House. Washington, who joined the project in its embryonic stages, provides the powerful musical backdrop.) 22.00

KONSTRUKT (FEAT. ALEXANDER HAWKINS / ALAN WILKINSON / DANIEL SPICER) - L.O.T.U.S. DLP (Konstrukt has made contact with both Alexander Hawkins and Alan Wilkinson during their presence at Konfrontationen Festival in Nickelsdorf in 2013 where the band performed for the second time in Austria after Saalfelden Jazz Festival with Marshall Allen in 2011. All three parts were excited and have agreed to get together sometime in the future. The result was a night of music with high energy and a wide musical perspective. From drum&bass to ethnic funk vibes, from straight free jazz bursts to spiritual chantings, the whole performance here shows a wide range of outer wordly aspects of all musicians present. Konstrukt is very grateful to be able to work with Omlott again on this recording, after their first collaboration with Joe McPhee on their critically acclaimed If You Have Time LP.) 25.00

KONSTRUKT & JOE MCPHEE - If You Have Time LP (omlott - NY saxophonist and pocket trumpeter Joe McPhee meets Turkish free-improv group KonstruKt, who have collaborated with Evan Parker, Marshall Allen and Peter Brotzmann, for these incredible sessions mixing jazz, traditional instrumentation, and electronics.“) 24.00

LA TIMPA - Modern Antics In a Deserted Place LP (col. vinyl) (The tender avant-soul blooz of LA Timpa is spotlighted by Halcyon Veil following Timpa’s beautiful damaged, under-the-radar 2019 debut. After marking himself one-to-watch with ‘Equal Amounts Afraid’ for the O___o? label, run by underground LDN catalyst Koyejo Oloko, LA Timpa leads on from the diaristic vignettes of Wayne Phoenix, issued earlier in 2020 on Halcyon Veil, with a vulnerable, gauzy expression of outsider soul in ‘Modern Antics in a Deserted Place’. The “place” of his title could be practically anywhere during lockdown, and his music’s mix of textured collage, warped ambient, and hunkered songcraft surely fits the mood of frayed and brooding minds in gutted cities with a timely and timeless bedroom pop appeal. The album’s nine songs unfurl in effortlessly beguiling shapes, poetically eliding cut-up rhythms and plaintive chants on ‘Quarterback’, while ‘Deaf in Three Corners’ mints an iridescent mix of folksy pop and keening electronics a la Panda Bear that leans into the dream-pop propulsion of album centrepiece ‘Pomisea’, and the lush simulacra of street noise psychedelia and distress in ‚Common’.) 26.00

MARK FELL & WILL GUTHRIE - Infoldings LP (Mark Fell and Will Guthrie deliver the first release for Koshiro Hino's (Goat, YPY) newly minted NAKID label with a pair of extended, astonishing rhythmic inventions that mess with meter and space through interlocking, polyrhythmic and polymetric variations inspired by Gamelan and South Indian Carnatic musics.) 26.00

MATTHEW J ROLIN - Matthew J Rolin LP (worried songs - Worried Songs’ third release is the debut solo LP from Matthew J Rolin. Originally released on the inimitable Feeding Tube records in 2019 and very quickly out of print, this pressing for UK and Europe will continue to showcase Matthew as one of the most creative, versatile and powerful proponents honing their craft in the canon of the American primitive (and beyond) today. ) 24.00

PORRIDGE RADIO - every bad DLP (special edition) (Deluxe edition on Purple Pink Swirl vinyl. Porridge Radio grew out of Dana Margolin’s bedroom, where she started making music in private. Living in the seaside town of Brighton, she recorded songs and slowly started playing them at open mic nights to rooms of old men who stared at her quietly as she screamed in their faces. Though she eventually grew out of them, for Margolin these open mic nights unlocked a love of performing and songwriting, as well as a new way to express herself. She decided to form a band through which to channel it all, and be noisier while she was at it – so Porridge Radio was born.) 28.00

RYLEY WALKER / BEN GREENBERG / J.R. BOHANNON - For Michael Ripps LP (husky pants - J.R. Bohannon, Ben Greenberg and Ryley Walker are a trio of guitarists who have collaborated to make the sprawling improvised album ‘For Michael Ripps’. Each artist brings their own style to proceedings - Greenberg is part of noise-rock band Uniform, Bohannon makes experimental rock in Gold Dime, and Walker is known for his jazz-flecked folk. Guitars intertwine here, breaking into riffs and repetitions that demonstrate how much the musicians are in tune with each others' ideas.) 26.00

SEWER ELECTION - Kassettmusik LP (April 2007. Moments captured and repeated in raw mono. Contact mic, cassette loops + cassette amplifier. Originally released as two private edition cassettes and then reworked for a CD release on iDEAL in 2008, Kassettmusik still stands out as one of Dan Johanssons’ most confounding and bold moments. Upon its release, the extremely minimal and restrained approach on the recording took a quite unexpected turn compared to the brutish harsh noise and ‘Killing For’ endeavours Sewer Election was known for at the time. Crude cassette loops of sparse electronics and body sounds with the fidelity of the disintegrated magnetic tape becoming an important piece of the two side-long compositions.) 25.00

STAR SEARCHERS - Avatar Blue 2 LP (Spencer Clark is back with Vol.2 of his eco-friendly extravaganza Avatar Blue. It’s life on earth as you never heard it. The story goes like this: Spencer wanted to do a soundtrack for the yet to be made “Avatar 2”. And if you know Spencer’s work, you’ll know that he engaged on this mission reading material that influenced the rich and crazy imaginary world of “Avatar”. If you think about it a little bit, something like “Avatar” could have really come out from the mind of Spencer Clark. But it didn’t. So, he dwelled around the idea of that soundtrack, working on what is now known as “Avatar Blue”. The record we now release is a selection he made from the 2CD released last year on his own Pacific City Sound Visions. Like many of Spencer’s other alias or incarnations, Star Searchers introduces the listener to a new world. Besides making sounds/soundtracks for alternative realities he cares about making a world for his music to live in. It’s never superficial or dedicated just to the act of imagination, Spencer creates sounds that sustain the reality he imagined. That’s why they’re so rich and consequential in the realisation of music as a medium. “Avatar Blue” is music but also literature. And cinema. Star Searchers’ sound creates an absorbent sound about what’s happening in aquatic life. It goes beyond the perception of what we’ve seen or what we’ve known, it’s a neo-future aquatic life, with a world building structure and sounds and narratives that go along with it. All done with a sound-aesthetics that could be described as slowed-down-trance, that fits 1980s synth nostalgia and dreams of sci-fi to come. *the digital version has more tracks. As per de original double CD) 23.00

STEFFEN BASHO JUNGHANS - The Dancer on the Hill LP ("Steffen Junghans' choice to incorporate 'Basho' into his name might lead us to conclude that he is a musician in thrall to the late, great Daniel Robinson, better known as Robbie Basho. And yet, as this album proves, Steffen remains one of the most idiosyncratic, self-determined guitarists currently operating. As ever, Steffen draws on a sonic palette quite unlike anyone else's. I detect echoes of Robinson, certainly, but I also detect the burbling sequences of analogue synthesizers, the stark tones of the Japanese koto and the windswept plains of his native Thuringia in the ever-spiralling waves of Steffen's inimitable music.” - Nick Jonah Davis) 25.00

VIVA BELGRADO - Bellavista LP (walking still - "Bellavista is the literal translation of the architectural term belvedere, which refers to a structure situated in such a way that one can have concrete views, and is the title of our third album. We decided to use this concept as a simile of the situation we had reached with the band during the last years. We had made of it, in an artificial way, a kind of belvedere with a view to a utopian and unreachable future: to be always on the road. Hence the introduction of the rainbow: that extremely beautiful vision on the horizon but always unreachable. Under this premise, Rubén J. Montesinos and Jaime Sebastián from Handshake.fun designed and built a wooden structure in the shape of a rainbow with which they intervened a series of natural spaces. As a cover, the arid landscape, evidencing the artificiality of the rainbow, and in contrast to the leafy and neglected garden that accompanied Ulysses. If with Ulysses we try to draw our luck as a post-adolescent millennial epic, Bellavista aspires to crystallize the disenchantment of the artist who realizes that the lure, Ithaca, is unattainable“.) 17.00

LP

BROTHER THEOTIS TAYLOR - s/t LP (mississippi - a handful back in stock - Brother Theotis Taylor is a 92-year-old spiritual singer and piano player known throughout South Georgia and beyond for his powerful voice and heavenly falsetto. His music took him from his home in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the stage with Sam Cooke and the Soul Stirrers, to Harlem’s Apollo, and even to Carnegie Hall. Though his releases are limited to six stunning and rare singles on the Pitch label and a single small-press LP, his recorded archive is vast. For much of his life, Brother Taylor kept a reel-to-reel recorder atop his piano at home.) 24.00

CHOKEBORE - A Taste For Bitters LP (vicious - A cult album from a cult band. Chokebore's music has been the influence of countless musicians and bands across the USA and Europe. As innovators of post rock, they reached cult status by the late 90s. `A Taste For Bitters' is their most renowned album.) 22.00

THE DURUTTI COLUMN - Short Stories For Pauline LP (blue vinyl) (factory - Factory Benelux presents a blue vinyl edition of Short Stories for Pauline, the ‘lost’ fourth album by cult Manchester group The Durutti Column. Limited to just 500 copies, this edition also features a new cover image by photographer Mark Warner. Originally recorded by Vini Reilly in Brussels in 1983, the 14 track album features several key Durutti works including College, A Room in Southport and (best of all) Duet. Recorded with Tuxedomoon viola player Blaine L. Reininger, this poignant instrumental proved - ironically – to be the downfall of the album, after Factory founder (and Durutti manager) Tony Wilson insisted that Duet form the basis of an entire neo-classical album. As a result, Duet became Without Mercy in 1984, and Short Stories for Pauline was shelved. Other guest musicians on the album include drummer Alain Lefebvre, harpist Anne van den Troost and sax player Eric Sleichim.) 27.00

THE DURUTTI COLUMN - Obey The Time DLP (col. vinyl) (factory - Deluxe edition of Obey the Time, the eighth studio album by Manchester ensemble The Durutti Column. Originally released by Factory Records in December 1990. The Durutti Column’s overlooked foray into early ‘90s acid house, techno and Balearic dance resurfaces, expanded with bonus discs of related material, and packaged with notes by Tony Wilson. In 1990, gassed on ecstasy fumes and weed pills, Reilly pulled influence from Acid House, rave and Balearic dance music into his singular style of lolling, latinate guitar playing with lovely and commonly overlooked resul) 33.00

ED ASKEW - 2020 LP (Ed Askew has been in NYC for 30 years. A few years ago he moved from Washington Heights in Manhattan to Ridgewood in Queens. And starting next month, he will be in Bedford Stuyvesant in Brooklyn.During all this time, Ed developed a home recording method which is very nuanced and at the same time concise. Ed’s harpsichord, tiple, synth and a muscular use of Pro Tools all play a role. His lyrics are on a whole new level; and his voice is his own. 2020 Seven Songs is his most recent home recording and the first one made this year.) 18.00

THE FLYING LUTTENBACHERS - Incarceration By Abstraction LP (Originally released in 2007 on CD, this is the first time 'Incarceration By Abstraction' is pressed on vinyl. "the metatext of this collection of songs concerns the rebirth of the robot out of the debris resulting from the cosmic battle between the void and the behemoth. the robot struggles with insanity as elements of all three entities struggle for control of the psyche. the compositions on this album were written between 2004 and 2007. much of this music was intended to be performed by guitarists ed rodriguez and/or mick barr. unfortunately neither musician is currently able to work with the band, so i have recorded definitive solo versions of each piece here for the sake of documentation." - weasel walter, july 9, 200) 18.00

GNAW THEIR TONGUES - Kapmeswonden En Haatliederen LP (First time on vinyl! Originally released on CD-R. The compilation consists unreleased, leftover, compilation and new tracks recorded between 2013 and 2018, the period spanning the release of full-length albums «Abyss of Longing Throats», «Hymns For The Broken, Swollen and Silent», and «Genocidal Majesty», in which the project’s sound became increasingly subtle when it comes to its production.) 18.00

GREG FOX - Contact LP (rvng - Greg Fox’s Contact is an extension and evolution of the multidisciplinary artist’s rigorous, virtuosic sound-making practices. On Contact, the devoted performer, intrepid composer and avid collaborator channels an alchemy of influences and ideas through the kinetic exchange of human and percussive forms. Produced and mixed by Randall Dunn, Contact sees Fox accessing ever more raw and ruminative states, processing the tumult of sentience into stick-hit-drum.) 25.00

GROUP RHODA - Passing Shades LP (dark entries - Group Rhoda, the solo project of Mara Barenbaum, returns to Dark Entries with ‘Passing Shades’. An integral member of the Oakland electronic music scene, Barenbaum has been writing, performing, and plunging into oneiric depths as Group Rhoda since 2009. This is the project’s fourth LP, and the third time Barenbaum has collaborated with Dark Entries; previously on the Max & Mara LP ‘Less Ness’ in 2013 and the Group Rhoda LP ‘Wilderless’ in 2017.) 23.00

JEF GILSON - Le Massacre Du Printemps LP (souffle - First ever vinyl reissue of this highly sought after French experimental jazz recording by the legendary Jef Gilson. In 1971, the day after the death of Igor Stravinsky, Jef Gilson and his Unit (Pierre Moret and Jean-Claude Pourtier) made this curious homage to classical music. It is jazz, contemporary and electroacoustic music that the trio interrogate through a wild ‘noise’ session evoking as much John Cage as Pierre Henry, John Coltrane as the Percussions de Strasbourg, the Art Ensemble of Chicago as the Tacet by Jean Guéri) 23.00

JESU - Terminus LP (avalanche - Justin K Broadrick is best known as a founding member of Godflesh, one of the first bands to combine elements of extreme metal and industrial music, but has also maintained a parallel career as a producer, producing records and remixes for groups such as Pantera,  Isis, Mogwai and Pelican. Since 2012, he has been releasing hard techno music under the solo moniker JK Flesh.) 25.00

KHRUANGBIN - Mordechai LP (ltd. art print edition) (Limited bundle including new artwork and art print. Khruangbin has always been multilingual, weaving far-flung musical languages like East Asian surf-rock, Persian funk, and Jamaican dub into mellifluous harmony. But on its third album, it’s finally speaking out loud. "Mordechai features vocals prominently on nearly every song, a first for the mostly instrumental band. It’s a shift that rewards the risk, reorienting Khruangbin’s transportive sound toward a new sense of emotional directness, without losing the spirit of nomadic wandering that’s always defined it. And it all started with them coming home.) 28.00

LANKUM - The Livelong Day DLP (Lankum honour the sacredness of traditional Irish tunes, but allow them to metamorphose, to grow and breathe like the heavy, ancient breath of the Uilleann pipes which seethe beneath the tracks of their third studio album (and second with Rough Trade). “Drone is a big part of traditional music because the Uilleann pipes are indigenous to Ireland, so we’re ramping up that history and taking it as far as we can.”) 25.00

MASAYOSHI URABE - Mobilis In Mobili 3LP-BOX SET (Edition of 285, silk-screened wooden slipcase with inserts and 6 postcards set An'archives presents three documents, three vinyl records carved by the illuminations of Masayoshi Urabe, six performances engraved like epitaphs in the stone that covers the Living World. These are recordings made in small suburban venues in Japan where Urabe would play in front of a meagre audience: the Bitches Brew in Yokohama, the Groove in Okinawa and the Gari Gari in Tokyo. In the corridors of cult label P.S.F. Records, Urabe came across the likes of Kan Mikami, Chie Mukai, Rinji Fukuoka, Hiroshi Hasegawa, with whom he played, and sometimes recorded albums of unfathomable beauty. But he is most disturbing, luminous and dark, violent and poignant, during his solo sets. Hideo Ikeezumi (the cultural ambassador behind P.S.F.) supported him more than others and tried to offer him all the space he could hope for.) 95.00

MIKE COOPER - Playing With Water LP (room40 - Dusky guitar ‘n field recording compositions steeped in never-more-urgent contemporary environmental concern from master of the genre Mike Cooper. Touching and emotional, but never cloying. From Mike Cooper: Playing With Water is a novel written by James Hamilton-Paterson. I was introduced to his writing by the Australian poet Peter Bakowski who gave me a copy of his book ‘Seven Tenths - The Sea And Its Thresholds’; a book that influenced my record Globe Notes and subsequent works immensely. Another of his books ‘Playing With Water: Passion And Solitude On A Philippine Island’ is about exactly what the title describes it as and provided me with the title.) 28.00

NAILS - Unsilent Death LP (10th Anniversary version) (southern lord - 10th Anniversary version on orange vinyl! "Unsilent Death" consists of 10 unrelenting and unapologetic songs with a sound not unlike the late '80s Earache Records catalog mixed with early power violence. Recorded during the cold winter of 2009 at Kurt Ballou's Godcity Recording Studio. Westbrook said: "It sounds like Entombed covering Napalm Death and Drop Dead.“) 27.00

NO NECK BLUES BAND - Gitanjali + The Nascent Stigma LP (This LP is one of two vinyl releases from recording sessions at the Chummery late in 2006. The Chummery was the Seattle home to Sun City Girls, Sublime Frequencies, Abduction, and The Sea Donkeys. In fact it was the last residence of Charles Gocher who passed away in there only a few months after this session. Along side this there is the highlight from NNCK's concert in Vancouver, British Columbia on that same trip.  This record follows the 10" called Gitanjali. Despite the similarity in title, the two records contain completely different material from the same session. It is a record in two parts, much like their "A Tabu Two" released as two separate LPs on the New World of Sound label back in 1997.  From Alan Bishop's liner notes: "One night when I slept on the sofa, serenaded to sleep by the polyrhythmic purring of our guests, I dreamt that Lyndon Johnson sent this outfit into the jungle all alone to battle the Viet Cong. A giant cargo plane parachuted them in with their ceremonial gear and Bob Hope’s PA system. After three or four days of producing slow burning sound signals curling in and around the foggy Mekong, Charlie fled en masse to Cambodia to do a photo shoot with Dennis Hopper.“ NNCK's activity was the first documented in 1994. Since then they have gone on to be represented by The Shadow Ring's Dry Leaf Discs, Ecstatic Yod, SER/SERES, John Fahey's Revenant, Kill Rock Stars sub-label 5 Rue Christine, Staubgold, Les Disque Victo, Locust Music, Alga Marghen side label Planam, Kelippah, and their own Sound@One imprint. They have toured North America and Europe although have rarely played live in later years. Members of NNCK have been involved in a wide range of other musical projects including Angelblood, Sabbath Assembly, D. Charles Speer & The Helix, Enos Slaughter, Rhyton, Suntanama, Coach Fingers, K-Salvatore, Izititiz, Malkuth, Test, Key of Shame, Decimus, Raajmahal, and Ki.) 38.00

SAHIB SHIHAB + GILSON UNIT - La Marche Dans Le Désert LP (First ever vinyl reissue of this French free jazz nugget recording by Sahib Shihab + Gilson Unit. Paris, February 1972. A few months after having released Le Massacre du Printemps, Jef Gilson was back behind his keyboards for a completely different experience. Heading up his Unit, he was joined by Sahib Shihab, ex- partner to Gillespie, Monk and Coltrane, for a brief stroll in the desert. For three-quarters of an hour, the caravan passes by, evoking, one after the other, Pharoah Sanders and Alice Coltrane, Pierre Henry and Karlheinz Stockhausen... Oh yes, and one other thing, we forgot to mention that Shihab’s saxophone is... amplified.) 23.00

STEVE REID - Rhythmatism LP (col. vinyl) (soul jazz - Drummer and composer extraordinaire Steve Reid’s Rhythmatism is one of his deepest and most radical of albums of all time and features some of the heaviest jazz players - Arthur Blythe ‘AKA Black Arthur’, Charles Tyler, David Wertman and others – joining Reid. The album was originally released on Reid’s own Mustevic Sound label in 1976 As a radical jazz artist, Steve Reid played with an extraordinary group of artists – including Miles Davis, Sun Ra, Fela Kuti, James Brown, Ornette Coleman, Lester Bowie, Freddie Hubbard, Jackie McLean, Dionne Warwick, Archie Shepp, Chief Bey, Olatunji, Arthur Blythe, , Dextor Gordon, Gary Bartz, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Sam Rivers, Leon Thomas, Lonnie Smith and Horace Silver! Reid was born in the South Bronx, and grew up in Queens, New York. He played in the house band at Harlem's Apollo Theatre, accompanying James Brown, as well as playing in Sun Ra's Arkestra. He lived next to John Coltrane, worked in a department store with Ornette Coleman, had a son who played drums with NWA. He began his career as a teenager in the 1960s as a drummer at Motown when he played on Martha and The Vandellas "Heatwave" (aged 14). At the end of the 1960s Reid was sentenced to four years in jail as a conscientious objector of the Vietnam war. On his release from prison in 1974, he formed the Legendary Master Brotherhood and started the independent record label, Mustevic Sound, to release his debut LP in 1976. Rhythmatism is released in its entirety and with full original cover art here and is one of a series of stunning independent records he released in the 1970s. At the start of the 21st century, his career took a new twist when Steve Reid began a successful collaboration with Kieran Hebden (Four Tet). Hebden referred to Reid as his ‘musical soul mate’, resulting in a number of joint albums. Steve Reid died in New York in 2010. Subsequently the Steve Reid Foundation was set up in his name, to help aspiring musicians and artists. ‘Steve Reid reflects the spirit of a generation- Art Ensemble of Chicago, John Coltrane, Pharoah Sanders, the Black Artists Group.’ THE WIRE) 28.00
