AIDAN BAKER - There / Not There LP (counsouling sounds - "There / Not There" combines Baker's interest in minimalistic post-rock and textured ambient noise, the 'songs' themselves on this album numbering among the first Baker wrote at the beginning of his career but as yet never properly recorded. Rather than recording all parts himself, as Baker has done with previous albums, and in an effort to give the album more of a band sound and feel, he invited drum and bass contributions respectively from Fiona McKenzie (also of Halma) and Dana Schechter (also of Insect Ark, Bee And Flower, Angels of Light, Swans). Although recording of the tracks began in 2019, given the circumstances of the 2020 pandemic the album was completed via file-sharing and not in person, the tracks assembled and mixed at Baker's Broken Spine Studios in Berlin, Germany. Simon Scott, drummer in Slowdive and also a contributor to Baker's 2012 album "The Spectrum of Distraction" (Robotic Empire), mastered the album. Cover photos for the album, images of Toronto and small town Ontario, by Leah Buckareff.) 20.00

DREW MCDOWALL - Agalma LP (clear green vinyl) (dais - Veteran NYC based Scottish electronic musician Drew McDowall's latest work is his loftiest, most liturgical, and least industrial outing to date — and potentially the apex of his recent discography. Named after an ancient Greek word for votive offering, Agalma exudes a hooded, devotional aura, creaking and keeling under vast rafters of stone, stained glass, and shredded wires. It's a music of majesty and mystery but also modernity, McDowall's refined modular system shape-shifting strings, piano, pipe organ, and choral masses into disorienting synthetic mirages of the sacred. He cites the intersection of “joy, terror, and the elegiac” as a centering inspiration – or, phrased more bluntly, “that 'what the fuck is going on' feeling.” ) 26.00

HÄNDE - Uwaga, Szkło! LP ("This is a gothy Polish punk joint with occasional flourishes that border on electroclash (like drum machine default-setting handclaps). I appreciate so much that the vocals sound like a person’s real voice; that she doesn’t bother with a put-on “gothy” voice. All the songs follow the same general path, in the same tempo range (with the exception of “Glos Ludski”), and I find myself wanting a more adventurous vocal line at times (like on the chorus of “Finlandia,” a pattern repeated ad nauseam with no change). It’s all a bit samey, and for a band with such a seemingly strong concept of who they are and what they’re doing, they could stand to push it a bit more in the future." - emilyrobinson) 15.00

HIROSHI YOSHIMURA - Music For Nine Post Cards LP (empire of signs - Hiroshi Yoshimura was a pioneer of environmental music, parallel to Eno, Yoshimura created ambient music to fit with physical spaces, music to be in and live through. ...Nine Postcards is simply keyboard and rhodes played sweetly and softly. First vinyl reissue since its original release in 1982 with full reproduction of original artwork and sleeve plus new liner notes. For fans of Brian Eno’s ambient works.) 38.0

HYPNODRONE ENSEMBLE - Gets Polyamorous LP (wolves and - Hypnodrone Ensemble expands to 14 musicians for a collection of post-punk, krautrock, space rock tunes. Mixed and edited by Aidan Baker, artwork by Eric Quach, mastered by James Plotkin.) 20.00

INSECT ARK - The Vanishing LP (profund lore - Instrumental psychedelic doom duo Insect Ark have creating uncomfortable sonicscapes that feel both intimate and icy cold since 2011. Nightmarish horror film-like visions, outer space travel, and gritty noir textures – all of this and more have been conjured up in their past records, the much-praised Portal / Well (2015) and Marrow Hymns (2018), but now, something even bigger is coming. Prepare for The Vanishing. ) 22.00

LUCIFER (MORT GARSON) - Black Mass LP (sacred bones - Black Mass is an album of supernatural electronics from synth pioneer Mort Garson, the mastermind behind the cult classic Mother Earth's Plantasia. Originally released in 1971, it’s his only release under the Lucifer moniker, and it taps into a profound darkness that may surprise fans of his sunnier work. These songs are Garson's synthesizer interpretations of occult and esoteric phenomena ranging from the Satanic black mass, to exorcism, to witchcraft, and beyond, and they've inspired artists from Coil to Oneohtrix Point Never. This deluxe remastered edition presents the album in full with all original liner notes.) 25.00

LUSTMORD + NICOLAS HORVATH - The Fall - Dennis Johnson's November Deconstructed DLP (sub rosa - Limited White Vinyl! The Fall is a deconstruction of November by Dennis Johnson. Written for solo piano in 1959, November is the first example of minimalist music composition and was the inspiration for La Monte Young's The Well-Tuned Piano (1964). The 66 minute piece is a collaboration between legendary artist Lustmord and renowned classical pianist Nicolas Horvath, in which they reduces Johnson's original November to its core element and place it in a landscape of complimentary sound. The Fall echo's November but with further resonance. Recorded in May-June 2019 in Los Angeles, and Misy-sur-Yonne, France.) 25.00

MASAMI KAWAHARA & THE EXOTIC SOUNDS - Ecstasy LP (Long deleted, originally released by Columbia Records on March 1970, “ Kokotsu / Ecstasy” is here re-released for the first time. Sonic-wise, the disc unleashes a whirlpool of Latin styled mondo -sexploitation sounds that get spiced up with feminine breathing and respiration sounds, moaning and hissing, igniting a maelstrom of assorted eroticism and sexual depravity. In all, it resembles a caged vixen engaged in sexual intercourse, hatching out cries, moans, sighs, words and other sounds such as the crackling of a whip and such, bringing out fully every possible sound made by a ballbuster in heat.) 52.00

MIKAEL TARIVERDIEV - Visions in Black & White LP (white vinyl) (earth - ‘Visions in Black and White’ is a collection of rare jazz and improvised themes by one of the greatest Russian film composers Mikael Tariverdiev (1931-1996). Transferred from the original tapes and beautifully remastered, these recordings manage to retain their original ambience and capture a master at work. Originally composed for cinema and TV movies of the 1960s and 1970s, it centres on Mikael playing at the piano and keyboard. Many of the compositions can be described as jazz, a genre whose troubled story in the Soviet Union meant they probably would not have existed outside the context of a film score. But, as Vera Tariverdieva, Mikael’s wife, tells, it is probably more in accordance with his vision to hear them in the context of his life-long love of improvisation. ) 25.00

MORT GARSON - Didn't You Hear? LP (silver vinyl) (sacred bones - Six years before the release of his landmark Mother Earth’s Plantasia LP, composer and arranger Mort Garson met experimental film director Skip Sherwood, who was interested in an electronic score for his new movie, Didn’t You Hear? While not much is known now about the exact nature of their collaboration, we have Garson’s magnificent score as a record of those heady, early days after his life-changing discovery of the Moog synthesizer. Notable for being one of the earliest screen appearances by a young Gary Busey, Didn’t You Hear? also boasts one of the first-ever all-electronic movie scores. Though the score was first released in 1970, it sounds as adventurous and futuristic today as it must have then. Originally available only in the lobby of the theater at screenings of the movie in Seattle, the soundtrack LP went out of print shortly after the film's release. It has been a sought-after record for collectors of Mort Garson and early electronic music ever since. Sacred Bones is honored to reissue Didn’t You Hear? as it was meant to be heard, taken from the original master tapes and given a pristine remaster by engineer Josh Bonati.) 25.00

MORT GARSON - Music from Patch Cord Productions LP (sacred bones - No doubt you know the name Mort Garson from his myriad writing, conducting, and arranging credits, topping a thousand in total: the Kim Sisters, Gi Sönne, Lola Novaković, Pfc. Craig Brown, Emilio Pericoli. Or failing that, his sides for Patti Page, Mel Tormé, Rosemary Clooney, Percy Faith, and Mr. Magoo himself. Which is to say, Mort Garson’s road to cool cultural caché and the sublimity of Plantasia meant a decades’ long journey through an underworld of sophisticated, international, string-laced dreck (ie, your great-grandparents’ record collection) to arrive at Music From Patch Cord Productions, this set of queasy-listening you now hold. ) 25.00

OPTIC SINK - Optic Sink LP (goner - Full-length debut from Optic Sink. Synthetic minimal music for now! Optic Sink’s Natalie Hoffmann (NOTS) creates a musical paradox: an endeavor that doesn’t seem to belong to any particular time or place. She constructs with sounds that are synthesized and stripped down, yet bristling with urgency and brutalist emotion. With percussionist Ben Bauermeister (Magic Kids, Toxie, A55 Conducta) by her side, the two set up camp on the post-punk side of the minimal electronic scene.) 23.00

PATRICK COWLEY - Some Funkettes LP (dark entries - Dark Entries is humbled to continue digging through the archives of legendary producer Patrick Cowley. While best known for his production on chart-topping cybernetic disco anthems such as Sylvester’s “You Make Me Feel (Mighty Real)” or his own “Menergy”, Cowley, who passed away from AIDS-related illness in 1982, left us with a substantial body of work. Since 2009, Dark Entries has been working with Cowley’s friends and family to shed light on the lesser known facets of this singular artist’s output. This has resulted in a string of celebrated archival albums, including Catholic (featuring Jorge Socarras), School Daze, Muscle Up, Afternooners, and the recent Mechanical Fantasy Box. Some Funkettes, the latest addition to this series, is a collection of previously unreleased cover songs recorded from 1975-1977. These raw, unembellished tributes both showcase Cowley’s early musical interests and chart the development of his production techniques.  ) 23.00

PAULINE OLIVEROS / STUART DEMPSTER / PANAIOTIS - Deep Listening DLP (important - To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Deep Listening, we offer you the definitive double LP combining the classic, complete original 1989 release with selected tracks from the Deep Listening Band’s 1991 album The Readymade Boomerang. This elegant double LP is packaged in a gatefold sleeve with original and updated recollections from the performers, the recording engineer and a mesostic from John Cage, to which these recordings are inextricably linked. Recorded in a cistern, this double LP reverberates with brilliant sonic clarity and masterfully improvised performances combining live electronics, vocals, trombone and accordion. Deep Listening is a classic in the fields of improvisation, minimalism, ambient/drone and modern classical. Listen with attentiveness, listen while lying down, listen with headphones - as recording engineer Al Swanson entices the listener to become a virtual performer in selecting the many different ways to perceive these phenomenal tracks. Whatever you do, listen deeply.) 42.00

PHILL NIBLOCK / KASPER T. TOEPLITZ / FRANCK VIGROUX - BestiaIRE LP (**Edition of 300 copies, 180g Vinyl in Heavy Cardboard Sleeve** Music by Phill Niblock, Kasper T.Toeplitz & Franck Vigroux. The ensemble IRE was founded by composers Kasper T. Toeplitz and Franck Vigroux. Their aim is to take a different look at electronic music, or rather more specifically the ”electronic mind” asapplied to today’s 21st century music. IRE questions the notion on the live interpretation of electronic compositions, the use ofelectricity, and advancement of the organology towards hybrid instruments and orchestration.) 26.00

WETWARE - Flail LP (clear vinyl) (dais - Brooklyn-based outfit Wetware (Roxy Farman and Matt Morandi) return with the intense follow-up album to 2018’s Automatic Drawing, an electronic dirge, simply titled: Flail. Formed in 2015 and known for their odd and unpredictable live performances, Wetware’s new album captures this disorienting confusion in a series of definitive documents that encompass a concentrated, noisier sound that pushes and pulls against electronic textures and frenetic vocals, creating a palate of wild, unhinged sonic collages. ) 26.00

NEIN RODERE - Catch Up With Social TAPE (Lo-Fi bedroom electronics from Berlin. Dark, trippy and bloomin’. "Second wigged out tape by Berlin based artist David Roeder (...) Some parts have crude pop structuring (reminiscent of Electric Blood). Others are built around spoken bits with a certain Bill Direen vibe. Still others are like the noisiest blurts from the UK Underground circa 1979 (...) let it's raspy metal tongue give your brain a thorough cleaning." (Byron Coley, The WIRE) ) 6.00

THE WAR GOES ON - Assisted Armageddon TAPE (Assisted Armageddon is the second album from this Danish band featuring former members of Hjerte Stop and No Hope for the Kids. If you’ve heard those two bands, Assisted Armageddon sounds like the two of them mashed together, with the big melodies and soaring vocals of No Hope for the Kids combined with the shorter songs and leaner approach of Hjerte Stop. If you haven’t heard those bands, The War Goes On reminds me of the most melodic early 80s Southern California punk… bands like Channel 3, M.I.A., and Social Distortion. Those bands contributed DNA to pop-punk, but The War Goes On doesn’t sound like a pop-punk band to me… they’re too gritty, angry, and political, and their melodies are dark and sophisticated. That being said, when Usman heard this he said it sounds like it could be on Hellcat Records, so maybe I’m just old. However, if you’re like me and have fond memories of the early 2000s when Kick N Punch Records was ruling everything and thousands of punks were newly able to locate Denmark on a map, and/or if you played that No Hope for the Kids LP to death, this LP is full of anthems perfect for autumn 2020.) 6.00

GRAPHIC LATIN - Vatican Laundry 7“ (mangel - Graphic Latin from Bandung, Indonesia. Released via Heaven Punks, 2019 as CDR. "here's a little bit story behind this new/old project of mine: i think Knurd Hamsun and St. Ennui will no longer exist due to this and that—you know the reason. but i've been recording this four tracks EP since December last year (and one song in June) and actually i'm having a love/hate relationship with the result. but shit, i never think thoroughly about how people gonna react to my songs because i don't really care either. so i think fuck it, i'm gonna release it anyway. ) 7.00

MODIFICATION - across the time / Annelie 7“ (munster - HIGHLIGHTS We are happy to present on 7-inch two of the most in-demand songs by Valencia's cult band Modificación, crafted in the early '70s under the influence of bands like Grand Funk Railroad, Iron Butterfly, Vanilla Fudge, Rare Earth, Led Zeppelin_ This single includes the legendary freakbeat number 'Across the Time', that has found its rightful place, over the years, as one of the most admired and sought-after Spanish singles from that period. DESCRIPTION Following our recent release of their complete recordings -including previously unpublished songs- we are now happy to present on 7-inch two of Modificación's most in-demand songs. The now legendary freakbeat number 'Across the Time' was crafted by the Valencia-based band during their recording sessions in Madrid at Audiofilm studios (1972) and has found its rightful place, over the years, as one of the most admired and sought-after singles of Spanish underground music. 'Annelie', on the flip, dates back from the early days of the group, when they recorded a single for EMI, "Llegará el día que me quieras" (1971), featuring Juan Bau on vocals (later to become a popular crooner in Spain). This B-side track shows Modificación's interest in bands like Grand Funk Railroad, Iron Butterfly, Rare Earth_ also adding a certain Latin-soul twist that rounds it up as a highly effective dancefloor artifact.) 12.00

ULTRA VIOLENT - crime for revenge 7" (static shock - Originally released on Riot City and quickly becoming the label's most highly sought after release, Ultra-Violent recorded one single before breaking up where vocalist Adie went on to front the Metal incarnation of the English Dogs. Three songs of blistering UK82, quite possibly the best record in the genre. Finally reissued after fetching prices of over 0 now including never before seen photos and deluxe packaging. Officially licensed and sanctioned by the band and label and cut from the original master tapes, an excruciating amount of thought and love has been poured into this release to make it the best reissue it could be.) 8.00

WARSAW PAKT - Lorraine / Dogfight 7“ (munste r- Warsaw Pakt's only LP "Needle Time" (recently reissued on Munster) stands as one of the most authentic documents of the lean, visceral sound of London punk rock in 1977. However, their sound is also redolent with the fumes of high-octane British R&B. The songs included on this single are earlier studio versions of two of the best tracks included on "Needle Time" and cast similar energy levels to the shown on stage. Available on vinyl for the first time. DESCRIPTION Warsaw Pakt favored a high-revving formula with hard-boiled street-smart lyrics delivered quick and cool against super-charged Chuck Berry guitar licks, a modus operandi much like the MC5 circa "Back in the USA", but with a vibe that was more attuned to the pubs and squats of their native London's Ladbroke Grove. Though given a punk rock paint job, the sound is redolent with the fumes of high-octane British R&B, a dead giveaway of their roots, as The Rockets. Their LP "Needle Time" (recently reissued on Munster) stands as one of the most authentic documents of the lean, visceral sound of London punk rock in 1977. The songs included on this single are earlier studio versions of two of the best tracks included on "Needle Time" and cast similar energy levels to the shown on stage. The fast and furious 'Lorraine' was recorded at Milner Sound in Fulham Road (August 1977) with the band's first drummer Wolf Marlander. 'Dogfight' -on the flip-belongs to their first recording session that took place at the Island Records studio a month earlier. Available on vinyl for the first time.) 12.00

ADULKT LIFE - Book Of Curses LP (wyr - "The skronky agitation that was prevalent in Huggy Bear can be heard in "County Pride," as is Male Bonding's melted punk. It's a nice first taste and a welcome return for Rowley." Brooklyn Vegan. ) 25.00

AESOP ROCK - spirit world field guide DLP (ryhmesayers -CLEAR VINYL LP packaging includes ultra clear double vinyl with direct-to-disc label imprint, 12" gatefold jacket, printed record sleeves, 20 kiss cut stickers & free digital download card. // "Be not afraid! Whether you're simply sightseeing, enjoying temporary flights of fancy or considering a more permanent relocation, the all-new Spirit World Field Guide offers twenty-one insightful chapters of firsthand know-how into the terrain, wildlife, and social customs of our parallel universe. On Spirit World Field Guide, characters, inanimate objects, and their surrounding environments vividly come to life as Aesop describes each passing moment throughout the album's twenty-one chapters. Welcome to the Spirit World. Explore with intention) 35.00

AKIO SUZUKI - Zeitstudie LP (room40 - From Akio Suzuki… In May 1984 I appeared at a German festival called Pro Musica Nova, organized by Radio Bremen. I then travelled to Berlin by car with Rolf Langebertels, the owner of Galerie Giannozzo who had driven to Bremen to hear me perform. I still remember very vividly the experience of passing through the checkpoint to enter West Berlin, a city that floated like an island in the middle of the still socialist GDR. I had previously visited Berlin in 1982 to perform at Kunstlerhaus Bethanien at an event that Rolf had organized. This time too Rolf had organized a concert for me at the Technische Universitat. Playing off the title of the piece (“Study Time”) I had performed at Pro Musica Nova) 30.00

ALIEN NOSEJOB - Once Again The Present Becomes The Past LP (iron lung - Non-stop rocker Alien Nosejob, aka Jake Robertson, returns to earth with his second full-length record of 2020, finally bringing the high-octane hardcore punk side of the band to an LP.  Hot on the heels of January’s "Suddenly Everything Is Twice As Loud" LP, Nosejob carries on their winning streak and wordy album titles with "Once Again The Present Becomes The Past", which instead follows in the footsteps of the November’s "HC45" 7; merging early 80’s hardcore and late 70’s NWOBHM.  "Once Again The Present Becomes The Past" started life as a concept record about Australia’s first and largest air raid, the 1942 Bombing Of Darwin. However, while grappling with this heavy subject-matter, something from Norm Macdonald’s book, of all places, stuck with Jake: "The Present Became Past Again". History is forever repeating itself. It continues to happen. It will happen again. As the record took shape, it was fleshed out with the help of his new reel-to-reel recorder, turning crust and hardcore influences into the dark and cold array of songs documented within.) 20.00

THE APPLESEED CAST - The Fleeting Light of Impermanence LP (graveface - WHITE VINYL - 2019 album from the classic US emo band. 'Arigato' style packaging ) 35.00

ASTARON - s/t LP (sealed - Astaron from Vienna Austria were a music and art performance duo made up of Angie Mörth (member of viele bunte Autos) and Martina Aichhorn who existed from 1984 to 1989. Influenced by the Viennese Actionism, Einstürzende Neubauten and Kate Bush and armed with a big dose of black humour and a true love for trash culture they created an impressively unique body of work. They released two DIY tapes, One 12” and this stunning self titled album at the tail end of 1987. It was originally released by local label Ton Um Ton Records in a criminally low pressing of 500 Copies. It’s an unadjusted highly experimental and totally addictive dark wave album with hints of minimal post punk. The music ranges from dirgelike chants to ethereal pop to haunting ballads. It’s pure melancholic beauty from start to finish. Think KUKL, Cocteau Twins, Young Marble Giants for the minimal sound, Brian Eno, Lizzy Mercier Descloux and Diamanda Galas. Sealed Records are proud to give this haunting rhythmic and gorgeous album a new lease of life. This time adding a printed inner sleeve and 12 page booklet.) 20.00

ASYLUM PARTY - picture one LP (deanwell - French Coldwave Classic 1988 Reissue - Limited edition of 300 on white vinyl with new inner sleeve artwork and lyrics) 27.00

ATARAXIA (A.K.A. MORT GARSON) - the unxexplained LP (sacred bones - The pioneering electronic composer Mort Garson (Mother Earth's Plantasia) takes on supernatural phenomena with lush synth grooves on The Unexplained, his only release under the name Ataraxia. Subtitled Electronic Musical Impressions of the Occult, the album explores tarot, astral projection, seances, and more with Garson's signature Moog synthesizer serving as the listener's tour guide to the paranormal. The exploratory, whimsical spirit of its creator is evident throughout the release, but it also takes its subject matter seriously, making it essential for anyone interested in musical conjurations of the occult. This remastered edition marks the first official reissue of the album since its initial 1975 release, and it includes all the original liner notes. ABOUT MORT GARSON: Morton S. "Mort" Garson was a Canadian-born composer, arranger, songwriter, and pioneer of electronic music. He is best known for his albums in the 1960s and 1970s that were among the first to feature Moog synthesizers. His best-known album is Mother Earth's Plantasia, a 1976 Moog album designed to be played "for plants and the people who love them." Sacred Bones Records has undertaken the project of giving official, licensed reissues to key releases from Mort Garson's catalog, with the intention of bringing these bold masterpieces to a 21st century audience.) 25.00

FLORA YIN WONG - Holy Palm DLP (col. vinyl) (modern love - ‘Holy Palm’ is the debut album by Flora Yin-Wong, an artist, writer, DJ and journalist, summoning the ghosts of her life in a masterful meditation on metaphysics, superstition and memory. It’s part collage, part audio diary, part reflection; a sort of private ritual purification that comes highly recommended if you’re into works by Mark Gergis, Philip Corner, Mark Leckey and Hildegard Westerkamp. Following her mesmerising turn on PAN’s ‘Mono No Aware’ comp and a string of wildly varying productions and mixes in recent years, ‘Holy Palm’ appears like a woven tapestry of interconnecting recollections, rendered with and around an extensive repository of field recordings made over the past 6 years. Deploying production strategies ranging from Max processing to sharp/stitched collage work, Flora filters and tiles aural snapshots of far-flung places - from an abandoned Arctic settlement in Svalbard, to an accidental recording of a monk chanting prayers on a radio in rural Chania, Crete, and drug-fuelled Tokyo club scenes - into an uncanny investigation of how ritual punctuates and gives meaning to life.) 31.00

FRIENDSHIP - Undercurrent LP (orindall - Undercurrent showcases FRIENDSHIP’s hybrid of ultra-heavy doom sludge / powerviolence as audible torture. With a more technical and precise attack, and a brighter and sharper tone than the preceding Hatred LP, all tracking, mixing, and mastering duties for Undercurrent were handled in Tokyo throughout 2018. The resulting album strikes hard with ten relentless tracks delivered in just over twenty-two minutes.) 25.00

FRIENDSHIP - Shock out of Season LP (orindal - Friendship is a Philadelphia-based band currently comprised of Dan Wriggins, Peter Gill, Mike Cormier, Evangeline Krajewski, and Jon Samuels. Gill, Cormier, and Wriggins, all originally from Maine, began performing as Friendship in 2015, when they shared an apartment in Philadelphia. They released an LP, You’re Going to Have to Trust Me, on Burst and Bloom Records in late 2015, and an EP, F/V Hope in 2017 with Philadelphia’s Sleeper Records. Friendship's new album, Shock out of Season, will come out November 3, 2017 on Orindal Records. It is a collection of songs about work, friends, love, and loneliness, lifted by synthesizer, pedal steel, and Rhodes piano, and set against a combination of live and programmed drums. Wriggins’ lyrics reflect conversation, humor, and calamity. They stress his characters’ unmediated involvement in each other’s lives, which transcends and is frustrated by their failed communications. These tensions are expanded by the band’s twisted articulation of Americana - waves of ambient pedal steel, droning synthesizers and drum machines, vibraphone, electric piano, and percussion surge and fall alongside minimal guitar and bass patterns.) 22.00

GAG - Still Laughing LP (iron lung - Following up 2016's "America's Greatest Hits", GAG are back with 12 certified fresh bangers that will leave you breathless and sweaty. All the mid-tempo thump, crisp searing riffs and maniacal vocal pepper you've come to love are there in full steel but the crew has turned up a couple surprises for you here as well. I won't spoil it by writing more about it, you'll just have to check it out for yourself. Trust GAG, trust Iron Lung Records and, most importantly, go trust yourself. ) 20.00

GAG - Killing For Both Realities 3 '92 LP (iron lung - Have you longed, hoped...nay, prayed for the paradisical utopia where the availability of all GAG's yesteryear classics were at your beck and call? Well, long no longer... "Killing For Both Realities 3 '92", is the answer to your prayers! It's a collection of selections from the early EPs including hits like "Don't Like", "Intro", "No Cops", "Haunted Truck Bed", "Clown Farm", "I'm A Punk", "Locker Room", "Chains And Barbwire", "HAHAHA", "Steel Shank", "Chains And Barbed Wire", "Raw Meat", "Squeeze", "Meth Lab", "No Hope, No Change", "Warm Milk" and "Warm Milk", sure to delight every listener's leathery lobes into sheer bliss. ) 20.00

GEN POP - ppm66 LP (ppm - Gen Pop started in Olympia, Washington in 2016. Four faces in the same mirror all with a different reflection. It's not high-brow or low-brow but unibrow. Don't bother making musical comparisons, speak instead in terms of the mood, which, for lack of a better term, may be described as 'tense'. We've all had the feeling of careening headlong into a wall, eyes wide but seeing nothing, so you'll know what to expect. BUT if you must, think Swell Maps meets Buzzcocks in the late eighties american indie scene.) 25.00

GROUP A - Initiation LP (Group A was formed in 2012 when art student and musician Tommi Tokyo (synths, drum machines, vocals) met textile design graduate Sayaka Botanic (violin, sampler, tapes) and her friend Kaoru. Inspired by radical art movements of 20th century, Tommi’s idea was to form a new band with non-musicians in attempt to approach music differently. Since their first performance at gallery COMMUNE in Tokyo, the project has explored the possibilities in breaking the preconceptions of live performance. The group (A) attempts to subvert the boundary between musical performance and performance art incorporating use of the body, live-painting, noise, acoustics, and poetry in their formative performances. ) 25.00

HELLO BLUE ROSES - Wild Nights! LP (JAZ - Silk scarves hung from back pockets, keys under mats, messages in bottles, bells on trees, clacking stilettos, hot wet pavement, and bird song are cruising technologies and transit mysteries, some fleeting, others devouring, and still others remote, proposed in Wild Nights!, Hello Blue Roses’ fourth album and third on JAZ Records. Wild Nights! was recorded and produced lovingly by Joshua Wells and Sydney Hermant alongside bandmates, Julia Chirka and Jason Zumpano over the course of 2019. The album features special guests, Dan Bejar, Daniel Geddes, Kay Higgins and Carey Mercer. It was mixed by Wells at The Balloon Factory, in Vancouver on the UNCEDED and ancestral lands of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-waututh people. The drawing and painting on the cover are by Eden Veaudry. The album was mastered by Carl Saff in Chicago.) 26.00

HELVETIA - fantastic life LP (In 2005 after the break up of legendary slow-core band, DUSTER, and throughout his tenure playing with BUILT TO SPILL over the past decade, HELVETIA has been the primary creative output of JASON ALBERTINI. In January of 2020, Helvetia quietly uploaded a new album titled Fantastic Life to bandcamp. Their first new music since 2017’s Sunchaser EP. Albertini returned to his roots and recorded/produced this album entirely on a 4-track cassette recorder. Fantastic Life is a slow churning wave with bursts of agitated fits. The aesthetic feels as if it is cut from the same cloth as their 2007 album The Acrobats. Woozy off-kilter experimentation littered with moments of sweetness and pop gems. Albertini’s guitar playing and effortless vocal performances have always lived in another plain. Everything is loosely tied together but elegant. Even if everything fell apart, it would be embraced. Helvetia’s sincerity is unmistakable and unforced. In contrast to the album title and sonic emotion, the lyrical themes are dark and defeated. However, it feels as though he is at peace with the present. “What a fantastic life” Albertini repeats nonchalantly, but almost sarcastically while smirking, throughout the title track. As if to say, “Things are fucked, and will always be, but I really do love being alive.”) 25.00

INTERNAL ROT - Grieving Birth LP (iron lung - Absolutely pulverizing grindcore as lethal as running a marathon in the open desert without any water. There are no tricks, no gimmicks, no pitch shift, no triggers, no psychic surgery, just grind. Do you grind? Because this fucking grinds. Did mention that it grinds. It does. It grinds. A pure record. A split label release with the legendary and enigmatic 625 Productions.) 20.00

JOHN BENCE - love LP (thrill jockey - John Bence uses music to probe the deepest recesses of the human psyche. Over a handful of releases the composer has already built up a striking body of work bound by an incredible clarity of vision. His elegiac works occupy an omnivorous sound-world, assimilating elements of British avant-garde and electronic music, classical tradition and sacred medieval song into cavernous, sepulchral compositions. Early releases for Nicholas Jaar’s Other People imprint and Yves Tumor’s label Grooming were engulfed in overwhelming emotion. Struggles with alcoholism and addiction found their outlet in brooding chamber atmospheres and caustic eruptions of choral aggression on the macabre Kill EP. Love forms the final chapter in a trio of works with Kill and Disquiet that chart Bence’s experiences with addiction and his subsequent journey to recovery. Returning to his first love, the piano, Bence explores the instrument’s deeply emotional qualities in ten movements. Love’s stark minimalism and raw production reflect the composer's personal struggles with striking honesty, searching for the deeper meaning in human suffering.) 23.00

KATH BLOOM - Bye Bye These Are The Days LP ("Bye Bye These Are The Days” is the latest release by luminary songwriter Kath Bloom. Born to a musical family, Kath moved through an early life absorbed and in love with the 60s sea change of musical expression, into a development of her own singular voice that would age to cast a wide net of influence. Her prolific relationship with Loren Mazzacane Connors in the 80s produced a body of work held sacrosanct by generations of avant-folk luminaries. In 2007 Chapter Music released a tribute album to her songs from that time recorded by Bill Callahan, Meg Baird, Devendra Banhart and others, and her song “Come Here” was featured memorably in Richard Linklater’s 1995 film “Before Sunrise”, in a scene which Ethan Hawke claims was “my favorite scene I ever filmed”. Two lovers listen hanging on the edge of a kiss, tense and present for a moment just out of reach. Although performing this strange and yearning body of work at the time made her nervous and withdrawn, she continued to write and perform quietly all the while. She developed happy careers in music therapy for children and horse training, learning new forms of connection that channeled back into her music and healed her relationship with performing. In recent years she has toured regionally from her home in Connecticut and has been invited several times to tour internationally, honing her current musical partnerships with David Shapiro (guitar, vocals) and Flow Ness (percussion, vocals). While she has been encouraged to release new music for her new generation of fans, “Bye Bye These Are the Days” is the first to document her current band’s sound, which harkens back to the avant leanings of her work with Mazzacane, but the tension now is joyful and expert. This is the sound of a practiced life, learned in all stages of love and loss, and resolute to keep going, like a locomotive deep into the night. ) 32.00

KIKAGAKU MOYO - Masana Temples LP (guguru - The shifting dimensions of Masana Temples, fourth album from psychedelic explorers Kikagaku Moyo, are informed by various experiences the band had with traveling through life together, ranging from the months spent on tour to making a pilgrimage to Lisbon to record the album with jazz musician Bruno Pernadas. The band sought out Pernadas both out of admiration for his music and in an intentional move to work with a producer who came from a wildly different background. With Masana Temples, the band wanted to challenge their own concepts of what psychedelic music could be. Elements of both the attentive folk and wild-eyed rocking sides of the band are still intact throughout, but they’re sharper and more defined. ) 25.00

KIKAGAKU MOJO - Mammatus Clouds LP (guguru - Mammatus Clouds EP repress on Guruguru Brain. This EP was originally released in a limited run of 100 cassettes in early 2014 and on vinyl also in 2014 on Captcha and Cardinal Fuzz. Each song builds on a direct, yet otherworldly folk/psych vibe, evolving into a joyous, haunting, far-out and totally colorful tribal sound. ) 25.00

KIKAGAKU MOJO - Stone Garden LP (guguru - Stone Garden started in a basement studio in Prague with a nearly continuous session over several days and nights. The original concept was influenced by the raw and seemingly endless jams of psychedelic pioneers. The freeform songs that emerged from these sessions were refined over several months at the band's home in Tokyo where each song was sculpted into an uncommon form. ) 24.00

LEBENDEN TOTEN - Synaptic Noise Dissociation LP (iron lung - When Iron Lung Records hosted a weekend of shows to celebrate our 10 years of being a label we secretly recorded a bunch of the sets hoping to catch some magic. We knew LT would be a highlight (they always are) but we had no idea they would kill it this hard. Pure green lighting, swirling sirens and strobes set the room into a tense, disorienting spin. With the click of the stick a blanket of pure noise and pummeling beat came at us like a canon blast pushing the whole experience into a perfect frenzy. Seriously, there is not a single discernible mistake during the entire 25 minutes except one tiny moment where we could tell the guitar was out of tune - yeah we listened to it THAT closely, because their music deserves that kind of attention. ) 20.00

MAKOTO KAWABATA / RICHARD PINHAS / MANONGO MUJICA/ JUAN LUIS PEREIRA - Alturas LP (BUH - When Acid Mothers Temple and Richard Pinhas visited Lima for the first time, in November 2017, to participate in the experimental music festival "Integraciones", Luis Alvarado, the director of Buh Records and curator of the festival, summoned the Japanese and the French musicians to Manongo Mujica's studio and invited Juan Luis Pereira (El Polen) to join them for a recording session. The result was this album which finally comes to light, and where a variety of instruments and sensibilities are combined. The guitar sound of Kawabata, the leader of Acid Mothers Temple, merged with that of Pinhas, the leader of Heldon, creates a dreamlike atmosphere, which is supplemented with Mujica's Indian bells and drums, Pereira's pututos, moceño, violin and charango, and the cosmic electronic sounds of the classic Roland synthesizer played by Higashi, from Acid Mothers Temple. Everything flows between quietness and abstraction, an atmospheric music that gives way to inspired melodic developments, which are fused with sounds coming from the Andean tradition, as well as with the classic textural and melodic explosions courtesy of Kawabata. All this is enhanced by the meticulous mixing and post production work done by the Peruvian artist Ale Hop. ALTURAS [Heights] is edited in vinyl format and is destined to become a milestone in the catalogue of Buh Records, a label that has also released albums by El Polen, Acid Mothers Temple and Manongo Mujica.) 25.00

MOLCHAT DOMA - monument LP (sared bones - Monument is a fitting title for the third album by Belarusian trio Molchat Doma. Indeed, it stands as a monument to everything they’ve achieved in their short time as a band, from whispered-about unknowns, to enigmatic underground icons, to legitimate viral sensations with hundreds of thousands of TikTok videos using their music. Monument sees them return as conquering heroes, expanding on the minimalist greatness of S Krysh Nashikh Domov and Etazhi to fully realize a more maximalist vision of their crystalline post-punk sound. Written and recorded while the band was quarantined in their hometown of Minsk during the COVID-19 pandemic, Monument is a conscious step up in songwriting and fidelity, and it reveals a band preternaturally comfortable in its own skin. Whether playing to the dancefloor, as they do on the synthpop anthem “Discoteque,” or working more introspectively on pre-pandemic live favorites “Otveta Net” and “Ne Smeshno,” Molchat Doma are in complete control. Their greatest strength has always been their songwriting, and they’ve only gotten better. ) 25.00

PICTURE ONE - Across The Depths of Seven Lakes LP (clear vinyl) (deanwell - Alt-electronic band, Picture One, shares its brand new album, Across The Depths of Seven Lakes. Self-produced by Thomas Barnwell, the album is unlike any others. There’s a darker feeling surrounding the album, with interesting instrumentation and really neat production ideas. Picture One describes their sound as “music that breaks through the often dark backdrop of the lyrical content, with a dance-y and self-aware 80’s synth-pop vibe accentuated by chilly post-punk soundscapes… It fuses bright neon-soaked new wave accents and splashes each cosmic arch with a power-pop kick.” thatmusicmag) 25.00

SUN RA AND HIS SOLAR ARKESTRA - horizon LP (strut - documenting Sun Ra's first trip to Egypt with his Arkestra in December 1971. SUN RA - Dark Myth Equation Visitation LP (strut - trut present the 4CD edition of Sun Ra's 'Egypt 1971' along with the original albums 'Dark Myth Equation Visitation', 'Nidhamu' and 'Horizon' released as individual LPs, documenting Sun Ra's first trip to Egypt with his Arkestra in December 1971. In the years leading up to 1971, Sun Ra wrote many compositions and poems specifically inspired by the ancient African Kingdoms and many others with associated mythological and heliocentric connotations. As such, a visit to Egypt and the opportunity for the Arkestra to play there was a matter of necessity. Ra's first ever concerts outside of the US had occurred in late summer and autumn of 1970 with performances in France, Germany and the UK and a second European tour was arranged for late 1971. At the end of that second tour, Ra caught wind of cheap flights from Denmark to Cairo. This release comprises recordings made by Arkestra member Thomas "Bugs" Hunter made in December 1971 in the streets around the Mena House Hotel, Giza, from a concert held at the house of Goethe Institute ex-pat Hartmut Geerken in Heliopolis, from a live Cairo TV channel broadcast and a concert at the Ballon Theatre in Cairo. The impact and significance of these few weeks upon Sun Ra can be measured by the growth and development of his output over the next few years; the immediate post-Egypt period included new studio and live recordings on the Saturn, Blue Thumb, Atlantic and Impulse labels and the 'Space Is The Place' movie. Ra also edited the three LPs of the 'Live In Egypt' series which were subsequently released on his Saturn record label and its affiliated twin, Thoth Intergalactic: 'Dark Myth Equation Visitation', 'Nidhamu' and 'Horizon'. These three albums are now reissued as single LP editions in their original artwork. The 4CD set features these albums alongside previously unreleased material from the December 1971 recordings. All tracks are remastered from the original tapes and the CD set also features a 24-page booklet featuring new sleeve notes and rare photos by Hartmut Geerken and background information on the recordings by Paul Griffiths.) 25.00

UNITED MUTATION - Dark Self Image LP (radio Raheem - Originally founded in 1980 under the name Dark Self Image by brothers Jay and John Fox, United Mutation sprang from musical influences most hardcore punks either ignored, or denied knowing existed. The dementedly tranquil sounds of The Grateful Dead, the lysergic space rock of Hawkwind, and the complex arrangements of the ultimate anti-hippie Frank Zappa were some of their favorites, but when local punk bands started to pop out their own self-financed vinyl, it inspired them just as much — if not more — as those rare bits of strangeness major labels would release from time to time. Informed in equal parts by self-released singles from their local favorites the Teen Idles and ½ Japanese, the band came upon their own unique sound which combined the breakneck pace of hardcore with a frantic and cathartic take on psychedelia. In 1982 United Mutation entered celebrated D.C. punk recording studio Inner Ear to lay down two sessions, the first with their original lineup of the Fox brothers, vocalist John “Monk” Harding and drummer Sean Sumner, followed by a second session for the Outside Records compilation "Mixed Nuts Don’t Crack", featuring new vocalist and former Dark Self Image drummer, Mike Brown. 1983 saw the band return to Inner Ear to record their debut 7” E.P. "Fugitive Family", a split release between Dischord Records and the band’s newly minted D.S.I. label. "Fugitive Family" is the most well-known of any of the band’s output, due to perhaps the inclusion of the Dischord logo on the back cover, or the sheer mind-blistering assault of the six tracks contained on the original record. This LP compiles all of the aforementioned recordings — 26 tracks total, 6 of which are previously unreleased — all faithfully restored from the original master tapes at Inner Ear for maximum aural freak out. Also included is a 24-page full-color booklet chock full of the band’s politically-tinged xerox collage artwork, housed in a gatefold sleeve featuring more of the same. We’re proud to call this the definitive collection of early United Mutation material!) 25.00

VIOLA RENEA - Syguiria Lady LP (strangelove - This is the first ever reissue of ‘Syguiria Lady’, an eerie and absorbing journey through the rich imagination of enigmatic Osaka group Viola Renea. While riding the current interest in Japanese music, the album remains an anomaly to much of the local music of the time. Juxtaposing ancient/modern sources of sonic inspiration, North England’s new musical movements collide with Eastern European folk rhythms, while oriental scales slide amongst wavey-electronic instrumentation. The resultant musical dreamscapes sought to conjure themes of noir & seduction, recurrent in the period’s techno-pop. Band leader Kuki Imamura described the album as the sound of unknown memories;- aural visions & strange musical loves coalescing around a femme fatale 'Syguirian Lady’) 24.00

V/A - STRUM & THRUM: THE AMERICAN JANGLE UNDERGROUND DLP + BOOK (captured tracks - North America's answer to the legendary UK C86 compilation Includes an 80+ page booklet with a comprehensive oral history of the American jangle pop scene and tons of photos and ephemera // Strum & Thrum: The American Jangle Underground 1983-1987 is the first volume of Captured Tracks' new venture into compilations - Excavations. Inspired by Pebbles, Killed By Death, Soul Jazz and Numero Group compilations, Excavations is a series dedicated to compiling forgotten music from the 1970s - 1990s that has a connection to Captured Tracks' sound and aesthetic. Much like the Cleaners from Venus, the Wake, and Saäda Bonaire reissues we've put out, Excavations releases will bridge the past to our current roster and showcase the kinds of sounds that inspire us. It makes sense that the first volume of Excavations is Strum & Thrum. As an American label, we've often wondered why British, Aussie, and Kiwi indie rock from the `80s has had the most influence on modern acts and the collector's market. Granted, the music released on Creation, Sarah, Cherry Red, Postcard, Flying Nun, et al. during that era was fantastic, but a parallel to this sound existed in the US and Canada as well. Outside of bands like R.E.M., the Rain Parade, the Dream Syndicate, and a few others, most of these bands received little attention from national or international press outlets and markets - unless they opted for a "big `80s" sound and signed to a major. The acts on this compilation are the antithesis of that, with a true DiY spirit that lead many of these bands to self-record and self-release within tiny local scenes in small cities and college towns across America. Though hardcore dominated the American underground at the time, the indie scene was no less vital and operated utilizing many of the distribution channels hardcore set up. The two genres may have sounded nothing alike, but the DiY ethos and dedication to community was the same_ But this isn't the story we're used to hearing. While noted underground archivist and compilation producer Johan Kugelberg has called the `80s the "Dark Ages" of indie rock, Strum & Thrum aims to shed light on this forgotten era of jangly, melodic rock music that emerged from the ashes of post punk and helped kick start the indie rock boom of the early `90s that continues to this day. Indeed, many artists featured on Strum & Thrum went on to be part of this boom - Archer Prewitt from the Sea & Cake, Jon Ginoli from Pansy Division, Ric Menck from Velvet Crush, Brent Rademaker from Beachwood Sparks, Barbara Manning, and more went on to be in well known bands in the `90s. This compilation is an essential listen for any fan of classic `80s indie bands like the Go-Betweens, Felt, the Church, the Bats, Shop Assistants, and the like. And if you're a fan of the early records Captured Tracks released by Beach Fossils, DIIV and Wild Nothing, you'll find a lot to love here as well. Spread across two LPs, Strum & Thrum includes an 80+ page booklet with an extensive oral history of the `80s indie scene, an introduction by Captured Tracks label head Mike Sniper, and tons of archival images and ephemera. Long live the jangle underground!) 40.00

V/A - Italia New Wave LP (spittle - What exactly happened in the Italian underground / post punk scene 30 years ago, is not entirely clear. Therefore, this collection of 13 incredible tunes helps track down the feeling and focuses on the blurry images of a period that was mixing influences from the UK/USA scenes with a more national' approach to new music developments. The damage began in 1977 when a series of urban / suburban musical agitators, whether skilled or complete amateurs, decided to embrace instruments as weapons for a war against sonic stereotypes. Here's the result: a multiform sonic attack that marks the history of a movement that may have remained local in most cases but whose echo reflected the amazing creativity of a generation.) 21.00

V/A - Daisies (Sedmikrásky) OST LP (Back in the latter half of the 1960’s the burgeoning idiosyncratic group of alternative filmmakers coming out of (then) Czechoslovakia known as the Czech New Wave were taking art house cinemas in Western Europe and America by storm. The hour long films that came out of the infamous Barrandov production house played a competitive rival to that of the French and Italian New Waves with their very own immaculate and spellbinding takes on cinema verité, film noir, surrealism and cinema concrète. But after the Soviet Union invaded Czech in August 1968 the clampdown on non-conformist creative arts saw over seventy films either banned or withdrawn from production in a mass culling of film reels until 1970.) 23.00

INTRODUCTION - Introduction TAPE (tenth court - Harriet Fraser-Barbour (Workhorse, Fair Maiden, Wireheads, Ripple Effect Band), Elena Nees (Allume, Rex Wonderful & The Silk Sheets) and Lauren Abineri (Waterbear, JEM) are Introduction! Deploying a minimalist post-punk approach to echo drenched pop and resonating solidarity with the other girl-gangs, who with soft precision kick a hole in your chest. While the trio currently occupy several geographical spaces stretched across different corners of the continent, the recording of this 6-track debut taken on Kaurna country is a sonic picture of time and place. Formed in Adelaide in 2019 out of pleasure and hope, against the banal backdrop of male dominated music scene, Introduction carefully constructed these pieces of shining space debris in a week. Spending months polishing them into a sonic artefact offering disquieting comforts for your journey. The entourage, fallen space debris in shined silver, create wavey shimmering pop. Percussive drums ride below driving bass, as dreamy synths cut like lasers and echo-drenched vocals coo like Ground Control on sedatives. Taking inspiration from minimalist 70s post-punk pioneers Young Marble Giants and the avant-pop of Broadcast, Introduction! are a Marine Girls moon landing; a Solid Space Picnic at Hanging Rock. This EP is a document of a temporary coming together, part of the constant exodus and transience community.) 10.00

KARL BLAU - live from the void TAPE (Perpetual Doom and Dear Life Records present Karl Blau…Live from the Void. Recorded in secret one early morning in late 2019, this one-time session captures new material, old favorites, covers, and traces of birdsong. Performed for an audience of zero, in an abandoned amphitheater somewhere on the East Coast. Far from the stately production of previous records, Karl’s voice—as crystal and blue as ever—rings out against the emptiness of an overgrown stage. These tracks are imprinted with evidence of their time and place: cold fingers on frets, leaves on empty seats, a sense of open space. Sounds that also resonate in our extended present. Hear Karl hold the final, warbling note on “The Sand.” Listen for the scratches on “Blue As My Name,” played as it was written, on solo guitar. It is a lonely record for lonely times, a little prophecy of days to come. And yet, for all that, the void is not quite empty. Not really. Every track has traces of friends and companions, distant but not absent. Originally recorded with his side project, Lovers Without Borders, “Stuck Inside Port Townsend (with a Pete Townshend Solo LP)” finds new depth in trading the original’s bright backing vocals for accordion and gusts of wind. Especially potent in this context is a cover of Little Wings’ “Paradise”: a little silly, deeply nostalgic, it sounds like a letter from better times.) 13.00

NEIL O'HARDTY - Angels Are Apparent TAPE (The 21-year-old vagabond artist Neil O’hardty (formerly known as Blackheart) has been a prolific staple of the underground hip-hop electronica internet music scene for the past 5 years. Since the age of 15, Neil O’hardty (the musical alias of Curtis Fearon) has self-released 5 albums under the ‘Blackheart’ handle, with a unique lo-fi synthwave trap sound, with heavy influence induced by sounds found throughout video games and cartoons, especially anime. Having spent recent years living in Melbourne, Australia, Neil O’hardty has become an embedded part in underground & DIY circles throughout the world, collaborating with artists such as Spacegirl Gemmy, Deject, LoneMoon & Zander. Now based back in New York, upcoming album ‘Angels Are Apparent’ marks a new chapter for Curtis Fearon, embracing the Neil O’Hardty moniker and transcending the already brilliant production of their previously releases as Blackheart.) 10.00

TASTING MENU - mueller tunnel BOOK + CD (Mueller Tunnel, a fire road constructed in 1942, loops through the Angeles Mountains of southern California. The 100-yard passageway hides behind brambles and spiky desert brush, beneath the mass of a rocky cliffside. On their newest release for Full Spectrum Records, Mueller Tunnel, Tasting Menu — comprising violist and improviser Cassia Streb, composer and bassoonist Cody Putman, and percussionist and improviser Tim Feeney — make poignant music within the tunnel’s cavernous, rumpled walls. In exploring the tunnel’s sonority, they take solace in the ordinary: the crunch of footsteps on soft ground, the sudden booms of objects falling, the distant caws of gulls. The record is organic and subtle, like a picture in sound, highlighting the compelling nature of simplicity. ) 20.00
