7“

CYANIDE - Your Old Man 7“ (splattered - Back after 40 years and for it's first official reissue is this UK punk / Oi! classic. Limited to 300 copies on black vinyl and housed in a new glue-pocket jacket.) 13.00

DISCO JUNK - Underage Punk 7“ (hoazc - "Teenagers are the future, not Millennials, sorry, but that’s just the truth, and it’s time you got used to it. Upon entering the Melbourne record shop known as Lulu’s last fall, I was approached by one BILLY TWYFORD, clutching a copy of the recently-released Cheap Nasties LP. After a short chat, I suggested he send his band’s recordings to us, and surely enough, not even 9 months later we have the debut EP from DISCO JUNK here for your virgin ears. Brash, rude, inconsiderate punk from a kid who can’t wait to break LOOSE, with impressive mid-tempo chops, and whose hatred of his surroundings has runneth over with style. It’s just so refreshing, four teeth-smashing tracks of teenage angst boiled in benzoil peroxide, and smeared all over your greasy face. We really hope he doesn’t get grounded for his anti-social disposition, not to mention his good taste in song material, but this pure teen turmoil distilled into pure, raw rock’n roll is something to behold, and this kid really knows his stuff. With help from BILLY GARDNER (AUSMUTEANTS, LIVING EYES, Anti Fade Records), this debut EP really jumps down your throat with echoes of Jay Reatard’s bedroom demos, along with the most wirey early moments from The Fall, and the sick menagerie of Murder Punk progenitors." — VictimofTime.com) 9.00

OVERDOSE - s/t 7“ (spaltere d - "Brand new band featuring Splattered Records CEO. Based in NYC, featuring members of SPEEDWOLF, MUTILATION RITES, and more. Very similar to the sounds of early eighties hard rock/heavy metal and of course....Motorhead. Don't miss this debut single.“) 13.00

ROYAL TRUX & ARIEL PINK - Pink Stuff (Ariel Pink Remixes) 2x7“ (fat possum - A double-7-inch featuring remixes of ROYAL TRUX's White Stuff album courtesy of ARIEL PINK. Housed in gatefold jackets and pressed on pink vinyl in a limited edition of 200 copies.) 22.00

LP

ABRAXIS - s/t LP (replica - First time ever reissue of this prog/jazz gem from Belgium!) 18.00

APPRENTICE DESTROYER - Permanent Climbing Monolith LP (diy - Initially a solo vehicle for songwriter and multi-Instrumentalist STEVE PEACOCK (ULTHAR, PANDISCORDIAN NECROGENESIS, MASTERY), APPRENTICE DESTROYER's first album Glass Ceiling Universe (Castle Face 2015) weaved an eclectic, driving soundtrack akin to analog Berlin school krautrock. With the recent expansion of four lead guitarists (including members of VASTUM, ULTAHR and PALE CHALICE), modular synthesis and pummeling live percussion, AD's new album and live shows have developed into an exercise of harmonic overtone experimentation. It's heavy feedback laden melodies, cavernous vocals, and repetitive rhythmic fervor share dynamics with '70s synth prog / punishing noise rock and prepared garage guitar academia. All Guitars and Drums for Permanent Climbing Monolith were captured live at Different Fur studios in San Francisco, and mastered for vinyl by JAMES PLOTKIN. Along with being commissioned to score the video accompanying the Grammy winning Voyager Golden Record, 40th anniversary edition (Ozma Records 2017), Apprentice Destroyer and related music from Steve Peacock has been covered by Pitchfork, Noisey, Wire, Decibel, Playboy, All Music, and more. Recommended for fans of Swans, Glenn Branca, Neu and Tangerine Dream.)23.00

BIG BLOOD - The Daughter's Union LP (feeding tube - "Recorded a bit before the last BIG BLOOD slab we released—Operate Spaceship Earth Properly (2018)—The Daughter's Union represents the true introduction of CALEB and COLLLEEN's daughter, QUINNISA as a full member of Big Blood. The Maine-based duo had been using Quinnisa as their secret hard rock weapon for quite a while, so it is gratifying as heck to see her finally get her due! In their new fully-fledges trio guise, Big Blood puff themselves up like a most splendid glam rock peacock, fairly bursting with readymade-riffs and inspirational high kicking energy bursts. Initially, this can seem a bit odd, given Big Blood's historical appreciation of bizarre folk-derived textural-psych. But heard in the context of their musical evolution, this move appears as just another roost along a trail that involves a whole lot of mountains and woods, with the occasional meadow-based rock festival stirred into the mix. By covering tunes by the Troggs and Silver Apples, Big Blood make it abundantly clear their interests are as far from catholic as their influences. Although it also seems that they are able to successfully transmute even the most thumpy-ass high-heel pumping into a move that is draped in moss and mystery. I can hardly wait to hear their track-by-track cover of Led Zeppelin II. I always thought those songs would sound better sung by an actual woman. Know what I mean?"—Byron Coley, 2019. Edition of 250.) 28.00

BRIAN CROOK WITH THE RENDERERS - This World Just Eats Me Up Alive LP (ba da bing - While recording a group of songs that would end up being part of This World Just Eats Me Up Alive, Brian Crook took a break outside with his bandmates. A small girl nearby ran up to a woman saying “Mommy, mommy! There’s a vampire here!” The mother asked how the girl knew it was a vampire, and the girl said, “He talks like this,” and proceeded to do a growling impression of a New Zealand accent. At the time, Brian was in a dark suit and had super long hair, and was playing badminton….  Crook’s new solo album comprises eight years of recording, so perhaps his undead appearance is not surprising; it comprises a span of inspiration that seems almost vampiric, with themes suggested by Greek mythology, a favorite 1960s author, to the abstract electronics of Aphex Twin and Arca as influences. The album came together in parts, slowly assembled with various contributors and recording locations, the earliest trace having lyrical origins from 1991, and was done during during sessions for The Terminals, Crook’s other band (you can also add NZ legends Scorched Earth Policy and Flies Inside The Sun to that list).
A near decade provides a lot of material for reflective songwriting. In Crook’s revelations about life in New Zealand and his tenebrous lyrical style there is more than a touch of comedy, albeit of a blackly humorous, “South Island New Zealand” nature. The lyrics and music come from a similar place as New Zealand painters Bill Hammond and Tony de Latour, evoking a kind of ceremonial primitivism.) 25.00
CONSUMMATION - The Fires Of Calcination LP (sentient ruin - Sentient Ruin and Australian extreme metal tormentors CONSUMMATION seal an unholy blood pact to re-release their first two debut EPs through an exhaustive and extremely curated vinyl release. A decade-spanning retrospective, The Fires of Calcination is a limited edition LP compilation containing every track ever released by the band (taken from their 2012 debut demo tape and from the Ritual Severance CDEP released in 2017 by Invictus Productions) leading up to their 2019 Profound Lore debut album—The Great Solar Hunter—all of which also see their first ever release on the vinyl format. The four tracks present on the comp testify with harrowing vehemence the birth and evolution of one of the most defiant and predatory black metal entities to ever tread Australian soil, and documents the band's feral quest for complete aural domination/annihilation over the span of a decade, as they meticulously and malignantly forged their black metal craft to become a mortal weapon of unyielding violence and negativity.) 22.00

CRYPTAE - Vestigial LP (sentient ruin - Deranged Dutch experimentalists CRYPTAE return with another enigmatic mess of malformed and deviant experimental raw death metal, unfolding a single staggering eighteen-plus-minute track of complete aural delirium. Within the mammoth headfuck of a song the duo cover an enormous amount of ground, letting lose on literally all of their most demented musical delusions and tapping into a monstrous pool of influences to unleash an aural pandemonium of absolutely unseen lunacy. Extremely cerebral and sophisticated, yet raw, repulsive, visceral and mercilessly unforgiving, on Vestigial Cryptae blur the lines between improvisation and deliberate erraticism and draw influence from a surreal array of seemingly antithetic influences ranging from Morbid Angel, to Magma, John Coltrane, Macabre and beyond, to construct an hallucinatory sonic maze of utmost brutality, where shapeshifting tempos, vertigo-inducing repetitions, and demented song structures are meticulously designed to disorient the listener and annihilate their last shred of sanity.) 22.00

DEPRESSOR - Hell Storms Over Earth LP (sentinent ruin - The ultimate and final compendium of long lost and unreleased songs from San Francisco's legendary industrial/death metal/crust cult DEPRESSOR, remastered, re-packaged and elevated to the status of audio/visual shrine in honor of one of the heaviest and most elusive and visionary underground American punk/metal bands of our times. Hell Storms Over Earth is the final statement in what was Depressor's glorious late '90s/early '00s "crust era", when the band abandoned the polished and well-produced Godflesh-worshiping drum machine-based industrial metal sound of its early and mid '90s beginnings and opted to home-record everything thereafter on a four track recorder and steer their sound toward a more death metal/crust hybridized sound influenced by bands like Amebix, Celtic Frost, GISM, Voivod, Discharge and Napalm Death. This move pushed the band's sound over the edge into a void of despair and yielded a blown out low end dirty sound of utmost rawness and hatred. These are not only long lost or downright never before heard tracks from a legendary Bay Area cult band then at the forefront of change and renovation, but a priceless document of their times, a snapshot of an era long gone and forgotten, and a window opened into a time of turmoil and struggle which yielded some of the most dark, visionary and thought-provoking punk/metal hybridizations of our times.) 22.00

FORESTS - Sun Eat Moon Grave Party LP (dogknights - DK is truly delighted to be working with Forests (from Singapore) again! This time they're releasing a newly-remastered version of their debut LP 'Sun Eat Moon Grave Party' on vinyl for the first time ever, which was originally released on CD through Lithe Records in Singapore back in 2016. Mathy Emo in the vein of Cap'n Jazz.) 15.00

FREQUENCIA DE MUERTE - Death Frequency LP (armageddon - FREQUENCIA DE MUERTE (FDeM) formed in late 2017 in Protland OR. The band has EDUARDO AGOSTOCRATES (TEROKAL) on vocals, JEFF CARLISLE (A TOCRACY) on bass, BRAD BOATRIGHT (FROM ASHES RISE) on guitar and IAN MAKAU (LOWERED, DÖDLÄGE) on drums. In 2018 they released a four song 7" EP that featured MANNY from PELIGRO SOCIAL on second guitar. A few months after his departure they entered the historic Falcon/Audiosiege complex to begin recording their debut LP titled Death Frequency. A slight departure from the raw, reverb-drenched sound of the EP. Death Frequency features seven songs of hardcore punk played by four hardcore punk lifers with lyrics in Spanish leading the battle cry.) 24.00

IMPERIAL CULT - Spasm Of Light LP (sentient ruin - A thirty four-minute spectral avalanche of largely improvised raw black metal fury, IMPERIAL CULT's debut LP Spasm of Light was recorded live in 2017 as a single, half hour long trance-inducing movement of embodied chaos designed to dismantle the psyche. The phantasmal vocals, combined with the repetitive intensity of the music, create an impenetrable fortress casting its spectral shadow unto a scorched and barren wasteland. As previously seen in bands like Fell Voices, on this mesmerizing inaugural work the Dutch band have erected an unyielding wall of black metal drone trance whose framework is rooted on repetitive, cyclical, and vorticose cyclones of furious raw black immersed in a storming haze of decaying ambient-noise that defies logic and sanity. The three members involved in the project are key figures in the Dutch extreme/experimental underground, and are active in bands like Turia, Nusquama, Cryptae, Lubbert Das, Horrid Apparition, Dead Neanderthals, Solar Temple, Heavy Natural, Iskandr, Celestial Bodies, and DungeönHammer as well as tied in with the label Haeresis Noviomagi. Thematically, Imperial Cult is a reconnaissance of an inherited culture of physical violence and material exploitation. Marching towards self destruction, we must understand the inevitability of violence and quenchless nature of bloodshed. Imperial Cult refers to ancient forms of divine worship of emperors as deities, and the cognate contemporary worship of those who will ultimately destroy us. It is a call to power, to reclaim the sacrificial logic which enables our ruination.) 22.00

LONG BEARD - Means To Me LP (double double -  Means To Me is the second full-length under LESLIE BEAR’s moniker, LONG BEARD, and her first since 2015’s Sleepwalker. Throughout the record, Leslie explores what constitutes a home—how it extends beyond the physicality of a roof over your head to the comfort of another person. A sense of self, stability or security. Reflections on the past are evident in tracks like album single “Sweetheart”, in which Bear considers a past love, where they are now, and her life in relation to theirs. Bear’s sophomore album shows a growth and maturation in sound from her debut. Co-produced with CRAIG HENDRIX (Japanese Breakfast), the record occupies a dreamlike space that weaves between shoegaze-tinged guitars and upbeat, jangly pop. The perfect amalgamation between Bear’s ambient-textured loops met with the pristine production and pop stylings of Hendrix’s playing can be heard in album standout “Snow Globe.” The combined reversal effects, seamless transitions, and heartbeat percussion are the language of Means To Me. Whether Bear has defined a home for herself is left to wonder, as she leaves us with these final lines before the album crescendos into an explosive distorted instrumental and slowly fades: “driving down through our state lines while you dream, I’m thinking of a name to go by.” LP pressed on blood red vinyl in an edition of 700 copies.) 25.00

LOST SYSTEM - Left Behind LP (neck chop - With some distance now between their 2017 debut, LOST SYSTEM has honed their sound beyond mere impetus with Left Behind, doubling-down with measured swaths of suitably icy disenchantment, all tersely arranged to stride alongside the lauded heavies of the international post-punk cognoscenti. Goth-hued moments like “No Regrets” almost ache with phase and throb. “Discipline” flips toward industrial-informed synth-punk derangement, giving way to the closure of the title track, an epic semi-suite that begins as dour slow-dance that eventually speeds through the sleet. Discarded at the edge of the world—Left Behind.) 20.00

MÖWER - s/t LP (splattered - "From the Pittsburgh, PA wasteland comes 3 serious speed freaks spewing rock n' roll with real d-beat disgust. Take a break from usual trendy hardcore bands and other punk rock cosplay aestheticians and shine a light on a legacy. Motorcycles, speed, leather, fire and fury. If you align yourself with Motörhead, Midnight, Inepsy, G.A.T.E.S, Chapel, and other mainstays of the flame; look no further. Drowned in American beer and hung over on a Harley doing 100 mph into oblivion. MÖWER is built for speed and here's the chance to support! Japanese edition includes two bonus live tracks recorded for a radio show. One of those tracks never before released. Limited to 500 copies on 'midnight-colored' vinyl with pro-printed jacket and Obi-strip.“) 25.00

MYSTERY LANGUAGE - You Will Be Well LP (dog knights - Mystery Language is an Indie band from Stockholm, Sweden. Although starting off as a side-project for the members’ hardcore bands, they have already achieved a lot by touring Europe and Japan off the back of their self-titled EP from 2017, and are now gearing up for the release of their debut 10 song LP ‘You Will Be Well’ through Dog Knights Productions (UK/EU) early fall. Mixed by Per Stålberg (Division of Laura Lee, Pablo Matisse) at Welfare Studios, and recorded in Söderhamn, Sweden early 2019.
On this album, Mystery Language take inspiration from classic acts like Slowdive and The Smiths, and current beachy pop bands like Alvvays and Best Coast. The songs deal with timeless subjects like death, longing, nostalgia and loneliness, yet offering up hope with the dreamy vocals and effect-heavy chiming guitars) 15.00
NED COLLETTE / JAMES RUSHFORD / JOE TALIA - Afternoon - Dusk LP (feeding tube - "NED COLLETTE's last album, the 2LP set Old Chestnut, was hailed as a masterpiece by 'most everyone who heard it. Part of this was due to the darkly delicate lyrics and vocals of Ned himself (akin to the work of Graeme Jefferies, ca. This Kind of Punishment), but much was also due to the elegant lyricism of the music, which had a fantastic prog/folk heft as impossible to peg as it was to ignore. With this new LP, Collette (an Australian ex-pat, now based in Berlin) goes all-instrumental, along with his long-time drumming partner, JOE TALIA (fellow ex-pat, now in Tokyo), and composer JAMES RUSHFORD (also from Australia) on viola. The two, side-long tracks are a departure from the pop formatting of Old Chestnut, but an expansion of that album's instrumental passages, playing with a syncretic fusion of several genres, while remaining beholden to none. Talia—who has been working with Collette for over a decade, but is perhaps best known in the U.S. as Jim O'Rourke's drummer of choice—uses synths and tapes, apart from his deft touch with the tubs. Rushford's work on viola is as idiosyncratic as you'd expect, given the evidence of his recordings with Ora Clementi, Food Court, and others. Rushford does opt for more standard tactics in spots, but his approach to long tones is not always clearly wrought by human hands. Collette's playing on guitar, synth, bells and drum machine combines a clear affinity with the trope of both 'new music,' and also with the artfully wrought dream-hybrids of Old Chestnut's musical textures. This means that while the music on Afternoon-Dusk may not be as immediately engaging, it also scratches some of the same itches as Old Chestnut and will definitely reward listeners who spend time with its soaring sonic inventions. The aspirations of Afternoon-Dusk are monumental, neo-symphonic and spectacularly successful. You have been warned!"—Byron Coley, 2019. Edition of 300.) 28.00
NIGHTMARE - Thirsty And Wander LP (540 - Latest album by Japanese hardcore band NIGHTMARE, the same guys who made the excellent Give Notice Of Nightmare back in '88. The 10 new songs are great and the old power of Nightmare is still there. Along with Gauze & Warhead, Nightmare is one of the few classic Japanese bands that never broke up and it's still going strong after all these years. Limited to 500 copies only.) 25.00
PETER JEFFERIES - Last Ticket Home LP (grapefruit - Peter Jefferies, a living legend of New Zealand underground music, from his seminal bands Nocturnal Projections and This Kind Of Punishment, to his collaborative efforts in bands such as Plagal Grind and Two Foot Flame, is perhaps best known for his solo work on masterpieces such as The Last Great Challenge In A Dull World (1990) and Electricity (1994), as well as numerous other albums of his singular songcraft. Grapefruit is proud to be releasing Jefferies’ latest, Last Ticket Home, which leaves the station early in his career when The Last Great Challenge In A Dull World left off and takes us on a guided tour of a fascinating side street via rare singles, both released and unreleased, radical live interpretations, and a wealth of never released material dating from 1991-2019. Last Ticket Home redefines Jefferies’ artistic journey, giving us a song cycle narrative which scorches, blisters and eventually heals on its relentless, ragged way home.) 25.00
SHIN GUARD - 2020 LP (dog knights - Shin Guard’s ‘2020’ is a side of the Pittsburgh four piece we hadn’t quite seen before. The release takes you on a journey filled with raw emotion, angst, and melody and leaves you wondering how a band blended such a wide range of influences so perfectly. 2020 is a socially conscious hardcore album, an amalgamation of riffs and screams at peak desperation. In 26 minutes, Shin Guard covers topics such as accountability, oppression, love, and more. Sound-wise, Shin Guard is a band from screamo and hardcore fans a like -- sometimes compared to The Fall Of Troy but are really drawing and blending influences from much more.) 15.00

SHIROKUMA - Clothes I Wear For The Space I'm In LP (dog knights - 'Clothes I Wear For The Space I'm In' is the long-long-long-overdue second LP from Sweden's Shirokuma. Since discovering them back in 2014 and immediately agreeing to releasing their stunning debut 'Sun Won't Set', they've been steadily (seemingly) winning everyone over with their unique and refreshing form of emotional, powerful, and yet catchy brand of screamo, with impressive releases such as the 'Light Dies / Colours Fade' EP (2015) and wowing new listeners with their side of the Suis La Lune full-length split (2016).) 15.00

THIGH MASTER - Now For Example LP (goner - Here it is! Brisbane (via Melbourne), Australia-based quartet Thigh Master are back with the long awaited second album Now For Example—the follow up to their 2016 debut Early Times. Following a string of sold-out singles as well as tours of U.S., Japan and Europe, the guitar-pop-guardians of the Brisbane underground deliver this latest, a twelve song hook-laden exertion, filled with imperious string bends and riffage framing witty tales of lethargic social observation, concocted by band leader Matthew Ford.
Now For Example sees the most compelling and virtuosic combination of Thigh Master members to date, with Innez Tulloch (guitar / keys), Dusty Anastassiou (drums) and Daniel Ford (bass) contributing heavily to its foundations and creating a bulk of their parts off-the-cuff during recording sessions, which took place in various houses between Melbourne and Brisbane. The intervals of ragged, jangly guitar riffs interspersed with waves of distorted sonic mischief recall the late ’80s / early ’90s Flying Nun sound of The Clean, Bats and 3Ds.) 20.00

TRAMPOLINE TEAM - s/t LP (hozac - "New Orlean’s most vicious byproduct is back with their most impressive effort to date. If you like your showers scalding, your sun blinding, and your brain crushed into a fine powder and then blown into your face, then this band is definitely for you. TRAMPOLINE TEAM's sophomore LP is here and it’s got everything real punk is lacking these days. Toxic tonality, gutteral enunciation, and a guitar/bass/ drums onslaught that just doesn’t let up until you’re withered, drained, and left in a puddle of black fluid. The new LP is a step in the right direction from their debut and earlier singles, with a more guitar-focused brash’n bash, and angrier, less-stylized (yet just as desperate) vocals, which really crank up the animosity and intimidation factor across the board. For a three-piece, this is hard-fried punk economics that does wonders for your lost brain cells, and it swings much heavier and harder than their previous efforts, where you could feel a pop-inflection in most of the chorus hooks. Those good times have been replaced with rage, and it’s a welcome emotion in our current state of affairs. Everything is straight for the throat here, restrictors unleashed, regulators removed, and what was hinted at on their 'Drug Culture' single is now fully realized in all it’s filthy punk glory. Features newly added drummer DREW OWEN (SICK THOUGHTS, DTK), along with core members MICHAEL HE-MAN and SAM.) 20.00

VELVETEEN RABBIT - s/t LP (hozac - "There’s a secret world of stylish glam pop music most people will never encounter, the stuff dreams are made of, and with very limited access to outsiders. Modern execution is barely ever fruitful in this realm, yet there are still a few droplets of liquified genius that seep out of the cracks from time to time, and VELVETEEN RABBIT (ex-members of THE JEANIES) have that special something in spades. A sparkling debut so glaring in its brilliance and pomp, it’s almost reaching levels of absurdity, but yet always remains tactfully cognizant. Building on the flashy and addictive 7” single they released last year, Velveteen Rabbit lay down a dizzying array of ten tracks of incredible variance, nudging slick-production head-first into the underworld of sleaze pop. From futuristic flanged-out, funked-up Prince-style stompers conquering self-fragility, to misty-eyed, blue-eyed soul-smashers, it’s more than just a reason to wear crushed velour, it’s a whole flavor of glam rock all to itself. Bridging their genre-bending game fully across the gamut, Velveteen Rabbit still understands and utilizes the best nuances of late 60s-early 70s pioneering pop forces to great effect, yet doesn’t manage to put too many irons in the fire at once. But one thing is for certain, this band is moving fast and already into the void of what’s next around the corner, but they certainly won’t leave you in an unaltered state. Everything about the silky production, the breathy vocals straddling that swilrling, skull-expanding guitar around every corner just works so well, you’ll wonder how you even existed before it came into your life."—VictimofTime.com) 20.00

VERWOED - De Val LP (sentient ruin - On this haunting sophomore offering Dutch black metal specter VERWOED peels back even more layers from its hideous amalgamation of atmospheric black metal bedlam, to expose incredibly dense and much more psychedelic and hallucinogenic cosmic textures than ever before, while remaining yielding in its nihilistic and violent tactics. At times twisted and disorienting, at times meditative and defiant, De Val is a sprawling demonstration of superb abstract black metal intransigence which confirms Verwoed as one of European black metal's most daring and visionary acts.) 22.00

VIVIAN GIRLS - Memory LP (polyvinyl - During their initial run as a band, VIVIAN GIRLS were a band of outsiders for outsiders. The ones who loved The Wipers as much as Burt Bacharach as much as The Shangri-Las. They were the band that made the punks feel like they could sing harmonies and pop fans could get in touch with their anger. CASSIE RAMONE’s lyrics alternated between love, loss and rage. They were heart-on-their-sleeves romantics in one breath and a spiraling explosion of feedback in the next. After their third album—2011’s Share the Joy—the members of Vivian Girls parted ways and the band who had known each other since they were teenagers, went about the business of living. KATY GOODMAN and ALI KOEHLER both moved to Los Angeles, continued making music (LA SERA for Goodman, BEST COAST and UPSET for Koehler) and started families. The trio began playing together again during the spring of 2018 and by October Memory was recorded with producer ROB BARBARTO (Kevin Morby, The Fall). Memory is an album filled with personal reflections on toxic relationships, the false promise of new love, mental health struggles, and finding ways to accept oneself amidst it all. Fittingly, the sonic textures of the album match this sense of desperation and longing. It’s a loud, snarling journey and there’s a sense of streamlined direction and intensity to the performances: it sounds like a band returning to a core idea of itself. LP pressed on 180-gram maroon vinyl.) 25.00

WARISH - Down In Flames LP (riding easy - Imagine if Incesticide-era Nirvana were crossed with Static Age-era garage-punk Misfits—a sinister low-budget horror rock with a visceral, twisted weirdness and bludgeoning riffs. Some might call it nightmarish, Riding Easy call it Warish.
Warish is a very newly-minted SoCal trio formed in early 2018 that has wasted no time making its presence known. The band formed when guitarist / vocalist and pro-skater Riley Hawk (son of skating legend Tony Hawk) and drummer Bruce McDonnell decided they wanted to try their hand at something more distinct than they’d done previously. “We wanted to do simpler riffs and a fun live show,” Riley explains. “A little more punk, a little bit of grunge... a little evil-ish.” Their sound takes cues from a variety of cool underground sounds and twists it all into an energetic and exciting fist-to-the-face of dark fury. Hawk’s effect-laden vocals hearken to early Butthole Surfers and David Yow’s tortured caterwaul in Scratch Acid. The guitars are heavy and powerful, though decidedly not straightforward cookie cutter punk; more like Cobain’s and Buzz Osbourne’s wiry contortions. The rhythms bash and pummel right through it all with aggressive force ensuring that nothing gets overly complicated and the horrors keep coming throughout the band’s warlike assault.  “Remember when indie rock sounded all grimy, corroded and metal-sludgy—the last thing you’d hear in a commercial or being played at an arena show? Warish do. It’s music to the ears of anyone who wants to damage their ears.” — Rolling Stone   “Warish totally rules... An awesome mixture of punk energy, biker rock fuzz, and grunge growl.” — Kerrang!) 25.00

LP

ALDOUM & THE FARYDS - Positive Force LP (black sweat - From Milan, Italy, Al Doum and The Faryds return with a brand new LP of immaculate beauty. Fusing together free jazz, psych, eastern and Indian influences. Al Doum and The Faryds create a mesmerizing mixture: the continuous, fluid sound of "Positiva Force" perfectly succeeds in expressing the parallel influences of ecstatic eastern/african sound and of the contemporary free, energetic, spirited sound, with a nice jagged, if not toxic guitar phrasing.) 20.00

AUSZENSEITER - Misère LP (i corrupt - “Misère” is the debut album from the German hardcore-punk band Auszenseiter. After their split record with Marais, Auszenseiter are back with ten raw and abrasive hardcore-punk songs. Giving their tracks also a slight edge of metallic neo-crust, Misère is recommended for fans of Alpinist, Jungbluth, Birds In Row and From Ashes Rise.) 14.00

CATACOMBE - Scintilla LP (narshardaa - Before computers, smartphones, wi-fi and social networks. Before satellites, planes, cars. Before the industrial revolution, the agricultural revolution. Even before the first societies. Let us travel back in time, before we even conceived the idea of time, before we met the sun and moon, day and night. And before fire. What do we find? The sparkle. The scintilla that human used to create fire. The first flash, and therefore, the first inspiration. In a way, “Scintilla” – the album – is Catacombe’s first. With its renewed sound - redefining post-rock with deeper harmonies and hypnotic, unpredictable rhythms – there are heartwarming breaches of light cutting through the massive walls of sound. There are echoes of suspending melodies, side by side with vigorous, evolving landscapes. There’s light and obscurity dwelling in deep resonance, inviting us to self-redefinition.) 15.00

CUCOMA COMBO - s/t LP (black sweat - Cucoma Combo. Above all, the new boiling energy of pan-rhythmic music, the awakening dance of joy, the experimental space for ambitious arrangements and free-improvised parts of colorful horns. From Black Africa to South America, we travel on paths of Congolese soukuss and Amazonian carimbò, between accents of Colombian cumbia, kalimba vibes and tribal voices. We find seeded traces of space-funk and afrobeat, with amazing acid keyboards and an enchanting female voice. The power of rhythm and in general the whole project are leaded leaded by Marco Zanotti, a multifaceted drummer and fine poly-percussionist, expert of the African and South American sound universe. With his Classica Orchestra Afrobeat, he proudly took part in outstanding collaborations with Seun Kuti, Sekouba Bambino and Baba Sissoko, as well as a prestigious participation in the Glastonbury Fest.) 20.00

FRAIL BODY / INFANT ISLAND / MASSA NERA / DIANACRAWLS - split LP ( I corrupt - Here we have four of North American's top underground screamo acts: Frail Body, Infant Island, Massa Nera and Dianacrawls teamed up to deliver this awesome 4-way split record, titled "Hymnes aux désarrois de la peau“.) 14.00

FRED GALES - Het Jakoba Prieel DLP (black sweat - back in stock - Originally released on tape by Sound Reporters in 1986. Het Jacoba Prieel is a very weird compendium of imaginary soundscapes, in which every coordinate seems lost and totally deviated. Fred Gales, in collaboration with Walter Maioli and Pit Piccinelli, presents his idea of a concrete organic music, a diary of signals and sound impressions inspired by the great tradition of primitive music, an extreme investigation of love on the primordial beauty of sound expression. Travelling into the properties of all matter of the sonic environment, the members of the legendary Sound Reporters generate, transform, mix, filter and modulate natural and electronic sounds in the magical analogical studio of the Utrecht Institute of Sonology. From a single movement of sound fragments are opened catalyst flows and circuits, flickering sequencers and oscillations of luminous channels. Futuristic tribalism, hypnotic fossil percussion, alien sounds, dreamlike trips in the jungle, echoes of rustling and rumbles otherworldly, rain waterfalls and shells in the pond, calls of animals and insects, heart beats and radar waves. Everything is just pure sound and surrounds us.) 27.00

KEPLER - If You See Our Friend, Tell Her We Miss Her LP (Kepler is a four-piece post-hardcore/emo outfit from Germany. After an impressive EP release back in 2016 and a bunch of shows and tours, it has become a little quiet around the band. But sometimes hard work needs some time, so that Kepler are now back with "If You See Our Friend, Tell Her We Miss Her", the band's debut full-length LP. The album takes you on an emotional journey - dealing with topics like social anxieties, death, weaknesses and strengths - which might leave you with goosebumps or even tears in your eyes. Musically, this is for fans of bands like La Dispute, The Hotelier, At The Drive-In, and alikes.) 14.00

LUCTA - black magic punk LP (order005 - Milan is teeming with diversely-bodied underground projects and communities that truly devote their time and heart to their work, making it easily one of Europe´s coolest punk scenes. One of the most notable uprising collectives is "occult punk gang", a group of friends who release tapes and set up shows, elevating the spirit of Milan´s punk scene. One of the relatively new projects emerging from this environment is the band Lucta. The four piece plays a great mix of non-masculine hardcore punk mixed with a lot of dark and magic energies - black magic punk - also the title of their first release.) 11.00

MOON ON THE WATER - Moon On The Water LP (black sweat - A mysterious sound aurora on the magical paths of the infinite universe of percussion, originally released in 1985 and then almost completley lost. The well-educated drummer Tiziano Tononi, together with David Searcy and Jonathan Scully, while working at the temple of classical music, Il Teatro alla Scala of Milano decides to realize a personal compendium of sounds using only purcussion instruments. The recording offers to us an amazing concert of sounds with acoustic purity, in perfect balance between wild rhythm and deep relaxation. Ecstatic elements of Japan ambient minimalism dialogue with contemporary musical solutions (Varese, Ligeti), in the stream of a harmonious fusion of ancient and modern. It’s a propitiatory ceremony of supernatural happenings that open portals of blissfulness, tribal and shamanic darkness, and, timeless jungles. Between amazon fires and African safaris, we float in the Asian rivers of meditation, lost in water games, echoes of caves and rocks in the night, synergies of frogs, birds, snakes, marimbas, chimes, gongs, and wooden drums.) 20.00

SARAH DAVACHI & ARIEL KALMA - Intemporel LP (black sweat - back in stock - Sarah and Ariel blend their strong individual personalities in a single trip on the edge of time. Their kosmiche music is pure, magnificent and elegant, an intergalactic hypnosis that seems to tell of distant times, a millenary vortex of a lost Era. In the first phase of departure, the mysterious song of the sax winds in archaic echoes, supported by the electronic inlays of the synth (Arp Odissey). Flowing between space rumbles and astral progressions, we sight high celestial bodies. When the infinite drones of the tampura start, we take part in the night ceremonial, surrounded by the deep harmonium and the Tibetan bell chimes. This music releases a sort of mythological warmth, secret codes of a lost purity, which lets us dwell in the labyrinths of a pyramid or in the sacred space of a cosmic pagoda.) 20.00

WALTER MAIOLI - Ethnoelectronics DLP (black sweat - back in stock - Originally released on tape by Sound Reporters in 1986. Ethnoelectronics is a further episode of pioneering fusion between ethnic and electronic music, involving dauntless explorers such as Walter Maioli, Nirodh Fortini, Fred Gales, Raffaele Serra, John Zandijk and the visionary sculptor Edward Luyken. As the soundtrack of an obscure science-fiction saga, the six parts of these recordings retain something profoundly osmotic and sidereal. In these hybridizations, it’s the heart of personal spiritual cosmos and stratospheric portals to pulse, but always remains the devotion to wild nature and ethnographic differences. In this way, the sinusoidal movements of electronic synthesizers and radiophonic frequencies interact with the pounding sounds of the jungle, with frogs, sea waves, buzz insects, leaves and rain. From flutes, rattles, steel sound sculptures or rustling idiophones, mysterious samples appeared like weird interferences, with rhythms and ritual voices from Tibet, West Papua, Burundi, Tahiti or the shamanic Japan of the Ainu.) 27.00

7“

UNDER ATTACK - Through The Blade 7“ (iron lung - Vicious precision hardcore from Richmond VA played by members of DEVOID OF FAITH, MUNICIPAL WASTE and SUPPRESSION. No blast, no chug, just unrestrained rage here. An effervescent debut amidst a deluge of bland apathy.) 10.00

LP

ANNE IMHOF - FAUST DLP (pan - Deriving from the acclaimed performance and exhibition—staged by Anne Imhof at the 57th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia and awarded the Golden Lion for Best National Participation— the album Faust is part documentation and part elaboration, the sonic capture and extrapolation of the gestures, intensities, and durations of the live event.Serving as the dramatic backbone of a several-hour long performance seen by thousands over the course of the Biennial, the soundtrack was a product of the collective and its individuals, animating and organising the performers while immersing the audience in the potent images of power and paradise. The music for Faust was written in a band-like process by Imhof and her close collaborators Billy Bultheel, Eliza Douglas, and Franziska Aigner during the months leading up to its premiere at the opening of the German Pavilion in Venice. From the chaos of the performative, the album is constructed out of live recordings and original arrangements, teasing out the most potent strands and weaving them into a new composition of brutal feeling and baroque intricacy, each track a testament to the energy that brought it into being.) 29.00

BLUEBOY - The Bank Of England LP ("You've got to listen to this band, you'll really like them, I know." A Colourful Storm presents the first-time vinyl issue of one of the true treasures of modern pop music: Blueboy's The Bank Of England. The group of Paul Stewart, Keith Girdler, Cath Close, Ian Gardner and James Neville are Sarah Records royalty alongside The Field Mice, Heavenly, The Wake and The Orchids, and this is the final recording from arguably the most beautiful, afflicted band of 90's indie-pop and DIY. Mastered from the original recording tapes with assistance) 21.00

BRIGITTE FONTAINE - 13 Chansons Décadentes Et Fantasmagoriques LP (because - Jacques Canetti Productions presents Brigitte Fontaine's 1966 debut album 13 Chansons Décadentes et Fantasmagoriques, reissued on vinyl as part of a series of albums highlighting the work of French talent agent and producer Jacques Canetti. In his lifelong dedication to chanson, Canetti supported and developed the careers of a dizzying array of artists: Édith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Serge Gainsbourg, Boris Vian, Georges Brassens, Serge Reggiani, Léo Ferré, and Jeanne Moreau are among the most notable. The storied recording career of Brigitte Fontaine began on Disques Jacques Canetti with its release of 13 Chansons Décadentes et Fantasmagoriques in 1966. In a debut that signaled the arrival of an original talent, Fontaine's 13 original compositions blend with Jimmy Walter's orchestral arrangements to create a sound somewhat more akin to modern chanson than that of Fontaine's later output. Remastered from the original tapes. Housed in a gatefold jacket with original artwork.) 23.00

CYBERPLASM - The Psychic Hologram LP (iron lung. The mutilated guitar buzz, hissing vocal fury, Cyberdyne Systems drum processors and brooding atmospheric tekno are a powerful commixture brought to light through the channel of industrial noise punk so we can all start to free the body from the mind. The Psychic Hologram is a mirror, a magnifying glass, a surgical kit and guidebook for self-liberation. Its freedom from flesh. Freedom from violence. Freedom from expectation. Freedom from "them". Us for us by us. 500 copies of 150-gram vinyl housed in a 24pt reverse board jacket with 11x22 double sided poster and download card included. Art by SAINTE-X. Sound by CAPT. TRIPPS. Mastering by JOHN GOLDEN.) 21.00

DOME - 3 LP (editons mego - New artwork and layout: Dave Coppenhall - With the demise of the group Wire in 1980, founder members Bruce Gilbert and Graham Lewis joined forces to create Dome. With the assistance of engineer Eric Radcliffe and his Blackwing Studio Dome took the ethic of “using the studio as a compositional tool” and recorded and released three Dome albums on their own label in the space of 12 months: DOME (July 1980), DOME 2 (October 1980) and DOME 3 (October 1981). A final fourth album, WILL YOU SPEAK THIS WORD: DOME IV was released on the Norwegian Uniton label in May 1983. These albums represent some of the most beautifuly stark and above all timeless exercises in studio experimentation from early 1980s alternative music scene.) 20.00

FRANCOIS J BONNET & STEPHEN O'MALLEY - cylene DLP (editons mego - First time outing from two ardent explorers of peripheral sound tactics. Cylene is the first collaboration by François J. Bonnet ( Kassel Jaeger) and Stephen O’Malley (Sunn O))) ). Laid bare we have a subtle and nuanced study of their individual practices forming a titanic whole. O’Malley’s guitar inscribes a void that patiently opens up a spacious universe for Bonnet to discreetly alter with perception re-orientating studio maneuvers.Cylene is infinitely rewarding for those that succumb to its delicate detours. A vast glacial plain unfurls slowly upon the listener invoking a mood similar to the stillness found following despair. As Joseph Ghosn succinctly outlines in his liner notes, “Stephen and François deal in those moments and instants that happen after the violence, and the ugliness and the mess. Their music is about chaos being summoned and ordered. It is about the noise that nurtures your ears after a long heartbreaking pain. I have heard the sounds of wars being fought and the noises of hearts being broken, and I have never found a shelter as soothing as this music which makes me think of sunken ships and beauty found in the depths of oceans long forgotten”. 27.00

JONATHAN SCHERK & DANIEL MAJER - its counterpart LP (faitiche - Faitiche welcomes two young artists from Canada: Jonathan Scherk and Daniel Majer hail from the post-rock and experimental scene in Vancouver, where they shared a studio for several years. In artistic terms, too, there is a surprising coherence: on 'It's Counterpart', their solo work naturally blends to create a joint album, making it hard to distinguish between their contributions. Majer describes his part as a shadow-like reflection to Scherk’s brightly meandering collages. The album’s title refers to this: 'It's Counterpart' presents two solo artists who have met their match in one another.) 20.00

KADAVAR - For The Dead Travel Fast LP (nuclear blast - Do you remember the final scene of “The Fearless Vampire Killers”? The one with dozing Professor Abronsius in his coach, unaware of what he’s bringing back with him from the east? 50 years on, KADAVAR did the exact same thing. They ventured east – and brought something with them: A gothic horror story turned doom rock. With a decidedly morbid turn, Europe’s hardest working rock band unearth their dark and twisted roots, once and for all defining their unique brand of retro rock, doom and proto metal.) 20.00

LES RITA MITSOUKO - The No Comprendo LP + CD (After being unavailable on vinyl for several decades, the second album of iconic French duo Les Rita Mitsouko is made available for the first time with audio re-mastered from the original tapes by Bernie Grundman Mastering. The original packaging has been strictly reproduced along with the original tracklist featuring the hits ‘Andy’, ‘Les Histoires d’A’ and ‘C’est Comma Ça’.) 24.00

LUC FERRARI - Photophonie LP (transversales - In 2019, to mark the 90th anniversary of his birth, Transversales Disques is very glad to announce the release of « Photophonie » unpublished archives, spanning 1973-1992, revelatory collection of commercial, `commission and secret music by electroacoustic music pioneer Luc Ferrari. - « Photophonie » (1989) / Music for the photographic exhibition of Alain Willaume.) 27.00

MALARIA! - compiled 2.0 DLP (moabit Musik - January 1981 found Gudrun Gut and Bettina Koster in Christopher Franke's Berlin-Spandau Studio recording their first Malaria! EP (Zensor Records). Christine Hahn of The Static with Glenn Branca and Barbara Ess, joined in from New York, and Manon P. Duursma fresh from Nina Hagen's O.U.T. project, and Susanne Kuhnke completed the line-up. Malaria! started touring intensively soon after the release of their 12", commencing with a concert with New Order at Brussel's Ancienne Belgique, and going on from there to concerts with Siouxsie and the Banshees, Birthday Party, The Slits, The AuPairs, Raincoats, Nina Hagen, John Cale, and Einstürzende Neubauten. They played venues as diverse as the Mudd Club, Peppermint Lounge and Studio 54 in New York, the Documenta in Kassel, the Bat Cave in London, Les Bains Douche in Paris, Milky Way and Paradiso in Amsterdam, ICA in London, the Piazza Santa Maria Novella in Florence, and Markthalle in Hamburg and naturally, again and again, at the SO36 in Berlin. While touring, Malaria! used their time off to record in Studios in New York, London, Brussels, New Orleans, and in Berlin -- How Do You Like My New Dog? 7" (1981), Weisses Wasser 12" (1982), New York Passage 12" (1982), Revisited cassette (1983), and the Emotion album (1982). At the BBC studios in London, Maida Vale, Malaria! recorded a John Peel Session. Malaria! took a break in 1984 -- Bettina and Christine re-located to New York, and Gudrun and Manon stayed in Berlin to form Matador with Beate Bartel, but not before they recorded their mini-album, Beat The Distance (1985). In 1992 Gudrun, Bettina, Christine, and Manon met up in New Orleans with Jim Thirlwell (Foetus) to record Elation 12". Elation was followed by Cheerio (1993), which again was recorded in Berlin. Chicks on Speed did their own version of Malaria!'s song, "Kaltes Klares Wasser" in 2001, and the remix went into the German Top 10. Malaria! has been an instrumental part of Berlin music history, as recently presented at the "Zurück zum Beton" at Düsseldorf's Kunstakademie, Kunsthalle Wien "Punk!", "Geniale Dilletanten" Goethe Institut, and in B-Movie.) 26.00

MALCRIA - El Reino De Lo Falso LP (iron lung. Pointed, chaotic and forceful hardcore from Mexico City. MALCRÍA underlines their odd brand of precise punk with dark urgency and pained screams without a drop of reference or a borrowed idea. Very fresh, very real. The pure scrap of this trio is infectious and exciting. And for what it's worth, "Nadie Es Especial" is gonna be the song of the summer for sure. Something about that opening bass riff and the overall foreboding vibe of that track that keeps me coming back for more more more. 500 copies of 150-gram black vinyl with an elaborately etched B-side housed in a painstakingly collaged 24pt reverse board jacket with lyric insert and download card included.) 21.00

MARA - Here Behold Your Own LP (sige - clear vinyl - Ltd. to 300 copies, tip-on jacket, printed inner sleeve. Mára is the solo project of Faith Coloccia, the hermetic composer, songwriter, and vocalist who has a central figure in numerous projects including Mamiffer and her ongoing collaborations with Alex Barnett. Her arrangements for piano, organ, electronics, guitar, and voice often take the form of deconstructed plainsongs, as elegant variations of a melody that smolder and dissolve into heavy-lidded assemblages of shadow, fog, and echo. As Mára, she continues with her signature aesthetics, while laying bare the emotional core of her being. Here Behold Your Own follows the very limited Surfacing cassette from 2015. The album began to take shape shortly upon the conception of her son and evolved to encompass her becoming a mother in conjunction with the re-engineering of her creative processes. Coloccia reflects upon the album’s origins, stating "A lot of the material that I used to make this record felt like the last glimpses of ‘me’ before I became another me. Almost as soon as I conceived I felt the old me slipping away, and so these recordings and photographs were like the last time spent with myself before I changed.“) 24.00

ROY MONTGOMERY & EMMA JOHNSTON - after Nietzsche LP (aquirre - New album by New Zealand composer and guitarist Roy Montgomery in close collaboration with Emma Johnston. After Nietzsche is a response to Nietzsche's assertion in Twilight of the Idols (1889) that "Without music, life would be a mistake." Roy Montgomery and Emma Johnston recast this as "Life is a mistake set to music" and they take issue with one of Nietzsche's principal tenets concerning fate. After Nietzsche is in a way the sister-album to 2018's Suffuse, where Montgomery composes songs for guest vocalists. Only this time it's in close partnership with Emma Johnston. Montgomery's distinctive, interweaving guitar play is set as background for Emma Johnston's angelic vocals and experimentations. Swimming through the four tracks of the album, it's surprising to notice how different they are. The opening track could have been plucked from one of Montgomery's '80s projects, while the rest of the A side takes you into more shadowy territory. "Realm Of The Senses" with its slow strumming and echoing vocals evokes Grouper, and the title track, with dramatic vocals and strings, cleverly builds up to a climax that never happens. The last song clocking in at just over twenty minutes is a post-postmodern duet between the two musicians in a dark philosophical mood. Included insert with lyrics; Calligraphy by Liz Harris (Grouper); Cover by Trudi Cameron. Mastering by Kris Delacourt. Edition of 500.) 23.00

SHIT COFFINS - Termination LP (iron lung - When you suddenly shine a light in total darkness you can't see right away but your body still tries. It's a reflex. It's unavoidable. And in that moment, the struggle to maintain what little grip you had becomes so urgent and overpowering that you will do whatever you can just to see anything at all. Wether it means peace or annihilation at least that thing is familiar and you reach for it, right? SHIT COFFINS have that same urgency, contempt and anxiousness. With broken mirror hardcore like this it's no surprise it's coming from members of TALK IS POISON, NO STATIK and MASS ARREST. Smash yourself to this one. A hard record. Edition of 300 copies on black vinyl housed in a 24pt. reverse board blackout sleeves with download card included.) 21.00

WE LIKE WE & JACOB KIRKEGAARD - time is local LP (sonic pieces - Includes download, Cover with laser-cutting and printed inner sleeve, ltd. to 500 copies Time is Local is a project by Danish collective We like We and sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard built around a 12-hour live sound installation and performance at Thorvaldsen Museum in Copenhagen. The piece was initiated and performed by the artists during the G((o))ng Tomorrow Festival in 2017. As they slowly wandered the halls and rooms of the museum for a whole day, they performed extended sound compositions for a visiting audience at each of the 12 chambers for a longer session - a haunting experience as the outside world disappeared and the focus was on quiet sonic moments unfolding in midst of the grand, reverberous space. For this album they have collected 12 fragments revolving around the chambers in the museum. Each chamber is being represented by its own handful of tones, instruments and voice. The statues within, depicted by neo-classicist sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen get their own soundtrack of quiet emanating gusts. Barely heard frequencies reflect through the walls. The marble carved busts of Greek gods that line the museum hallways gaze eternally with a blank stare as decades pass and new audience arrives.
Although We like We should need no introduction to followers of the Sonic Pieces label, the Danish all female sound quartet consists of Katrine Grarup Elbo (violin), Josefine Opsahl (cello), Sara Nigard Rosendal (percussion) and Katinka Fogh Vindelev (voice). Together they have forged a dynamic and intuitional sound beyond genres through the last decade. Only two years ago they released the nordic neo-classical opus Next to the entire All. This time they emerge in collaboration with sound artist Jacob Kirkegaard. Jacob’s works are sonic reflections on complex aspects of the human civilisation, treating themes such as radioactivity, melting ice, border walls and tones emitted by the ears. Through the last decades he has released records and sound documents through labels such as Touch, Important Records and more. As a document of their 12h performance, Time is Local is a beautiful sonic evocation that shines as a bright line of sun through the cracks of a tomb.) 29.00
