7“

BABY'S BLOOD - Baby's Blood 7“ (neck chop - Finland is really trying to cram this whole 'most stable country on Earth' notion down the rest of our goddamn throats. BABY's BLOOD, through sheer force and ugliness, aims to lower Finland’s standing with a cache of speed-addled wreckers—4 hate-centric odes that target the lynchpins of modern existence: fashion, sex, law, punk, life itself. This most pungent of fruits comes courtesy of DREW OWEN (SICK THOUGHTS) and some of his Finnish compatriots, collecting only the most depraved musings from their temporary terror program. That’s right: combustible and completely shattered punk, shootin’ from the hip, dead on arrival. OK, Finland —EPPU NORMAALI, snow, cabbage rolls, HURRIGANES, we get it already! Wash that all bullshit from your mouth with a gulp of Baby’s Blood. Recommended if you hate absolutely everything!”) 8.00

BRUTAL BIRTHDAY - s/t 7“ (tzotal punk - Following a split 7" with Tropical Trash, BRUTAL BIRTHDAY is back with their first solo outing. Worse than turning 21 on 9/11 or sharing a birthday with Jesus, Italy's BB give is three tracks sewer scraping nastiness that put your worst birthday memories to shame. Shitadelic noise punk that is vile, scuzzy, and 100% TOTAL PUNK! Edition of 500 copies.) 8.00

CLOSET CHRIST - You're In My World Now 7“ (lumpy - Dirty Feral HC from DC informed by chaotic '80s HC greats like Void, Neos, and Sodom’s ADK omnibus tracks. An amazing six songs in five minutes, all played by one chapped millennial (who went on to do the Hologram EP on LVEUM if you’re a members of type of wank). Definitely barking up the same tree as Nosferatu—young men trapped in the 21st century playing crazy hardcore that could as well be from the ‚80s.) 8.00

DEATH BELLS - Echoes 7“ (funeral party - Echoes b/w Move Through Me follows the band's 2017 full-length, Standing At The Edge of The World, an impressively developed debut that combined elements of searing post-punk and catchy dream pop for a modern take on a classic sound. Now with Echoes b/w Move Through Me the band further explore the dichotomy of their music; the soaring hooks of "Echoes" reach new melodic heights, while "Move Through Me" provides rhythmic stomp and a pulsating post-punk bass line.) 9.00

EKE BUBA - s/t 7“ (lumpy - It’s a goer. Snarling speed fed hardcore from Zagreb, Croatia tapped into Gang Greens early raw energy—on and off recording (sniff sniff). An exercise in timeless pure punk to smash and to sneer and to hate and to die to. Cherish alongside your School Jerks and Culo EPs. LR certified gasm.) 8.00

HEAVY METAL - Too OZ 4 I.T. 7“ (total punt - HEAVY METAL once proclaimed themselves too sick for Total Punk. Well we must have upped our sick quotient because they handed us this 4 track 7" EP! Following three of the most essential punk albums of the last few years, they are back with this brand new EP and a clear indicator that they have yet to hit cruising altitude. From the Adderal freakout needle jumper 'Underground Agent' to the club thumpin punk bumper 'Schweinebastard' this record is an absolute scorcher. The only thing I love more than heavy metal is HEAVY METAL! Chaotic, spastic, and 100% TOTAL PUNK! Edition of 500 copies.) 8.00

KLS - Powerviolence 7“ (krims - “The audio equivalent of smoking bath salts at a Chuck E. Cheese”. In other words KLS from Benicarló, Spain do noise or as the title suggests powerviolence.) 5.00

NATURAL MAN & THE FLAMIN' HOT BAND - s/t 7“ (neck chop - “One cannot stretch a balloon into a nail OR morph a turkey into a television. By that logic, one can’t adequately tie a bow around MR. IAN TEEPLE's oeuvre, be it as guitar bubbler in WARM BODIES or as the outer realm conduit NATURAL MAN, a guise heard here on wax for the first time. Aided by the all-directions FLAMIN' HOT BAND, Natural Man’s orchestral yet abnormal spazz recalls the most acidic and jaunty oddities of 80s American punk and DIY, a truly outside sound that’s positively thwacking at the gates, demanding entry.) 8.00

Q - 2nd EP 7“ (lumpy - St. Louis, Missouri’s crown jewel of HC finally squeezes out a follow up record. Since their 2015 EP they have all finished high school but their appetite for destruction still has not been satiated. Crushing hardcore alternating between the DBeat and the breakdown with plenty of that modern day half step riffing (a la Glue, Gag, etc). What will they break next ?) 8.00

LP

49TH PARALLEL - 49th Parallel LP (lion - In the spring of 1969, 49TH PARALLEL had a hit in with ‘Twilight Woman’, a lovely song that sounds like a poppier version of what bands like Tomorrow were doing in England. That success led to the release of 49th Parallel’s only album. All hyperbole aside, it is easily one of the top Canadian rock albums of the psychedelic era. The album is strong throughout—from the pulsating psychedelia of ‘Lazerander Filchy’ and the ultra-strange  ‘(The) Magician’, the shimmering beauty of 'Twilight Woman', to the quintessential slashing guitars punk edginess of ‘Now That I'm a Man’ and ‘(Come On Little Child &) Talk To Me’. DAN LOWE’s Lowe's blazing fuzz guitar work stands out on ‘Missouri’ and also when matched by organist Jack Velker's brilliant work on ‘Eye To Eye’, ‘Talk To Me’ and ‘(The) People’.) 27.00

Repress of the original self entitled LP from 1988 with additional bonus tracks from the "Angst macht keinen Lärm" 7" as well as demo and live tracks.) 25.00

BELZEBONG - Light The Dankness LP (emetic - The latest offering from riff-heavy Polish bong-masters BELZEBONG. Light The Dankness and enjoy the ride. Let the smoking begin! Recorded at Nebula Studio, mixed and mastered by CHRIS FIELDING at Skyhammer Studio. Guest solo on "The Bong...” by PIOTR DOBRY of WEEDPECKER.) 26.00

BLACK EARTH - A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth LP (sentinent - The debut full length LP from Spanish ritual black ambience/terror electronics sorcerers BLACK EARTH, originally released in 2015 on tape by Graceless Recordings, now this monstrous behemoth of sublime ritualistic aural cacophony finally assumes its ultimate form on black vinyl. On a A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth, Black Earth unravel over forty minutes of shapeshifting, ghastly, and colossal sound sculpting, constructing before the listener an hallucinatory and blood freezing chasm of slithering drones, spectral orchestrations and wretched electronics that ravage the senses. Weaving black metal, drone, dark ambient, harsh noise, and ritual atmospherics, With A Cryptic Howl of Morbid Truth, Black Earth have crossed thresholds unknown in ritual ambient invocations, laying the foundations for a new realm of sensorial sonic abuse and instantly proving themselves as being one of the most visionary and striking entities in modern dark metal and ritual ambience electronics.) 20.00

BRUCE RUSSELL & NOEL MEEK - Classical Music LP (feeding tube - "You know that old phrase, 'Teach a penguin to cuss, and you'll never have to buy another comedy record' I'm sure you do. But what about its codicil? 'Teach a guitarist to play synth, and you'll never have to buy a new age record?' If you know that one, you might well be put off by the fact this album features one of New Zealand's most wickedly post-tongue guitar players fiddling about with oscillators and analog synths (in concert with a guy who does this stuff all the time). But you need not fear. The only New Age being brunted about here is the same one Fahey disemboweled back in '97. An ornery cuss, it has lived in the cracks some-damn-place, only re-emerging now that it has been called forth by BRUCE RUSSELL and NOEL MEEK. Much of the sound on Classical Music (how Fahey would have loved everything about this record!) makes me think of Chris Marker's classic film, La Jetée (1962). As you certainly recall, the central motif in that film is the main quay at Aéroport de Paris-Orly, where visitors gather to watch the jets land and take off (just as I did at New York's Idlewild Airport when I was a kid). Step up for blast of Classical Music-style reality today. You'll be oh-so-glad you did."—Byron Coley, 2018. Edition of 250.) 25.00

THE BRUCES - Thieves In The Wick - Songs Of Simon Joyner LP (grapfruit - Alex McManus, veteran guitarist for Lambchop and Vic Chesnutt released a series of scarce singer-songwriter indie rock albums under the name The Bruces in the 90’s and early 2000’s before taking an extended hiatus from music to migrate to Canada and raise a family. Known primarily for his song, “I Woke Up With This Song In My Head This Morning,” which was covered by Bright Eyes on their Lua EP in 2004, his albums on Sing, Eunuchs! and Misra are gorgeous testaments to wholly personal pop songwriting which undoubtedly influenced the younger Conor Oberst as well as other songwriters lucky enough to stumble upon his difficult to find albums. McManus’ first new album in fourteen years is an infectious collection of cover songs by close friend and fellow underground songwriter, Simon Joyner, lovingly reinterpreted and rearranged to sound like would-be hits in another universe. You may recognize the titles on Thieves in the Wick as old Joyner songs but they sound entirely new in the hands of the unmistakable, unsinkable Bruces. Limited edition vinyl-only pressing of 300 in screen-printed jackets. Split release from : Grapefruit, Unread, Kerchow, Jackson Street Booksellers.  For fans of: Lambchop, Simon Joyner, Vic Chesnutt, Neutral Milk Hotel) 18.00

CAVE - Allways LP (drag city - Tremors rhythmically shaking your place—the air’s gone electric! You’ve seen this kind of weather before… you weren’t expecting it today. This is the beginning of Allways. CAVE are kind of beyond time, though. You might feel like it’s been awhile since you’ve seen or heard them, but when you see or hear them again, that moment will feel like Allways. During the making of the last album, Threace, Cave was in the process of becoming a quintet. They toured the world afterwards, playing on four continents and eighteen countries—as close to everywhere as they could get. Then they took a minute. They recorded it over time, in Chile and then Chicago. You can hear all of this, the energy of liveness, the reps, and consolidating expanded possibilities within their new alignment, the time away, the distance, and the freshness of returning to recorded sounds, everywhere on All ways. Cave digs driving down into a pulse and staying there for as much of FOREVER as they can. In the past, much has been made of Cave's use of particular compelling tropes, but man, their inspiration comes from everywhere—Miles, psych, beats, exotica, library music, rock, punk, the Germans, the New York guys too, minimalists, the Dead, music from India, everywhere! This is a bunch of guys playing rock-based music in a way that pushes them forward from everything they’ve experienced. When we listen to the new Cave, we’re hearing guitars, lots of ’em, bubbling under, scratching, fanning, locking in and taking off, soaring on acid-washed wings, with keys that pump, burr and whoosh in and out of the rhy thms. Fuck man, we’re even hearing vocals! We hear space, groove and rock, flying together. This is CAVE, Allways.) 23.00

CHANDRA - Transportation EPs DLP (telephone - Chandra Oppenheim was just twelve years old when her debut EP “Transportation”, was released in 1981. Encouraged by her father, artist Dennis Oppenheim, she was writing music by the age of nine. In the late 1970s, members of the New York band Model Citizens (later becoming The Dance) were looking to start another group and approached Chandra’s father. Rehearsals began when Chandra was just ten. By the age of 12, Chandra was well-known in the New York underground art and no-wave scenes. Chandra decided to focus on school after the “Transportation” EP was released, but continued to work on music in her spare time. This lead to another multitrack studio session in 1982, producing four more songs for a second EP that would go unreleased until 2008. Another demo session happened in 1983 producing two unreleased tracks. Chandra "Transportation EPs" features the 1981 “Transportation” EP as it was originally released as a 45 rpm 12”, the 1982 EP, and two previously unreleased demo tracks from 1983.) 35.00

CHEAP NASTIES - Cheap Nasties LP (hoza c- "We’ve reached our 200th release here at HoZac, and we couldn’t be more excited for this archival LP, a real dream come true for us devoted fans of 70s Australian Punk. THE CHEAP NASTIES emerged from Perth, Australia in late 1976, 'the most isolated city in the world,' with only a vague notion of the actualized punk format, from what founding member KIM SALMON had read in copies of NME magazine, and purity of heart. Combined with high school friends NEIL FERNANDES, DAN DARE, MARK BETTS and ROBBIE PORITT, the band emerged and for a few months, took hold of the punk market in Perth and shook it for all it’s life. Luckily their sole 1977 demo has survived, and we’ve got it here for you, finally in the LP format, the way God intended, for the first time anywhere. Ten songs of blistering teenage slime, screaming guitars screech in & out of the chorus, drums bash relentlessly, and that special Australian something you can’t ever put your finger on. It’s trashy, raw, and brutal punk slop at it’s finest, fitting in perfectly with the noisy aesthetic of the legendary Australian bands such as News, Babeez, Leftovers, Victims, and Psycho-Surgeons on the Murder Punk compilation series, and less like the early SCiENTISTS or MANIKINS, both of which sprung from the ashes of the Cheap Nasties.) 20.00

THE C.I.A. - s/t LP (in the red - “This record is an encapsulation. The omnipresent fear and anger. Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? Why? And what is really going on? Consternation…today…There is difficulty, frustration, strain and a large snake. You can feel the pressure of it breathing on the streets, in media, and in your lunch. This s/t, by The C.I.A., is an urgent musical notice. I feel it immediately. The pointed vocal cadence and lyrics of Denée Segall is a sharp scythe, and the actual time is…now.  “I feel the same distress call and disposition from Crass records like Penis Envy or DIRT. In fact, if you took that, mixed in “Black Silk Stocking” by Chrisma and a touch of early Nic Endo (Atari Teenage Riot) and even Dinah Cancer (45 Grave) Autopsy era, you can get a feeling. And, similarly to those mentioned, Denée is putting a time stamp on this time. The spirit and her viability is strong in many a corner, and in many a heart. The alarm is ringing.)18.00

COLD CAVE - Full Cold Moon LP (deathwish - back in stock - Cold Cave is the creative rebirth of acclaimed musician and writer Wesley Eisold. Cutting his teeth in underground bands American Nightmare (Give Up The Ghost) and Some Girls, Eisold's body of work has truly effected a generation of listeners. Through constant cross-pollination Eisold has gained mass appeal, influencing underground and popular culture with his ever evolving artistic vision.) 18.00

CULT LEADER - A Patient Man LP (deathwish - Cult Leader is a chaotic band from Salt Lake City, Utah. “A Patient Man” was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios (Converge, Nails, High On Fire). From the first hits of opener “I Am Healed” Cult Leader take listeners on a sonic rollercoaster ride. Much of the album follows this blueprint. Songs like “Curse of Satisfaction”, “Craft of Mourning”, and “Share My Pain” are driven by a weave work of unorthodox metallic riffing and fueled by hyper-aggressive percussion. While the tech- nical proficiency is impressive, it’s in their use of dynamics where they truly shine. The album contains four beautifully brooding epics; “To: Achlys”, “A World of Joy”, title track “A Patient Man”, and “The Broken Right Hand of God”. Each one of them carries a maturation and sense of melody that few “extreme” bands have within their arsenal. Proving that aggressive music still has much to offer the world in terms of originality, creativity, and emotion.) 20.00

DAN MELCHIOR - Bard Fawg LP (ltd appeal - DAN MELCHIOR returns with a one-sided 12". The blank side of the record is silk screened with an image of one of Dan's drawings. Edition of 234 copies.) 17.00

DET EVIGA LEENDET - Lenience LP (fallen empire - The debut album from Swedish Black Metal group DET EVIGA LEENDET. “This is, in many ways, the most impressive black metal album that I have listened to in 2018. You see, I expected greatness from Imperial Triumphant, Funeral Mist, Panopticon and a few others, and though they all certainly delivered, I was absolutely floored by Lenience. This is partly because it is Det eviga leendet’s debut album, and because it is the work of absolutely possessed individuals who are beyond fully committed to their artistic vision of swirling, hypnotic black metal. Imagine the soaring, epic melodies of Windir with less folk influence combined with the cosmic black metal atmosphere of Spectral Lore’s mid-era works, and you might have an idea of what to expect, though this album is very much its own beast.”—Ippocalyptica) 23.00

DIE FORM - Some Experiences With Shock LP (dark entries - Die Form is a French post-industrial and electronic band formed in 1977 as the primary project of electronic musician and multimedia artist Philippe Fichot. He began by recording a number of experimental cassette releases in the late 1970s and formed the Bain Total label to release these early cassettes, as well as various side projects such as Krylon Hertz, Camera Obscura, Eva-Johanna Reichstag, Hurt and Fine Automatic. The name 'Die Form' means '(the) form/shape' in German and is a play on the English homonym 'deformed' and on the French homonym 'difforme' (deformed).  With ‘Some Experiences with Shock’, originally issued in 1984, Die Form return to sadistic pleasures. The album is a rare example of medical music, horribly sordid moreover, adding a more extreme dimension to their work. The first side, “Survival & Determination”, contains 7 tracks recorded in studio with analog equipment are the direct realization of previous works. Each copy comes is housed in a replica of the original jacket designed by Philipe Fichot and includes a long post card insert with liner notes.) 20.00

DRAMA - Loneliness DLP (dark entries - Drama were the Canadian duo of Eric Simpson (Vocals, Bass Guitar, Guitar) and Don Stagg (Keyboards). Formed in in Mississauga, Ontario in 1978, the pair had previously played together in progressive psych bands Majik and VIIth Temple. Almost every Saturday, Eric and Don would record one song on a TEAC 4 track tape recorder after a couple of takes with very little over dubbing. The pair were influenced by what was playing on the radio during the recording sessions. Everyone else at that time was in a rock or pop band yet Drama were making electronic music. The pair released their debut LP ‘Loneliness’ on Psycho Records in 1979. There were 500 albums made and about 200 ended up in the garbage as band members shuffled from apartment to apartment. This was followed by a 4-track 7” later that year featuring live drums and additional guitar. Seance Centre says it best, “On Loneliness, the pair traded in their velvet and chord charts for thin ties and a cheap drum-machine. The LP still carries a whiff of patchouli, but the sound stings of solder and electricity, and inhabits a nascent zone somewhere between krautrock and new-wave. The vocal cuts are all clustered on the A-side, starting with an ode to the inefficiency of the Toronto Transit Commission - some things never change! The dystopian sci-fi themes are par for the League, and highlights are the love ballad “Anna King” and the charming “Feable”. The instrumentals on the B-side feel decidedly more Teutonic, and have a certain CBC charm that sounds like JP Decerf recording for Parry Music. It even opens with a slinky stoned Pink Panther.” For this first time vinyl reissue we’ve expanded to a double LP with a bonus album of the 4 songs from Old Hollywood 7” and 9 previously unreleased tracks and demo versions. All songs are remastered for vinyl by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The vinyl comes housed in a jacket with original photo by Don Stagg taken from his apartment rooftop overlooking Toronto of a young teenager sniffing glue and includes an insert with photos and liner notes by Drama.) 20.00

FOR PETE'S SAKE - North Atlantic LP (reac - With the release of their 5 song 12” EP, For Pete’s Sake is back at it – full force, and with pure intensity! This release marks a new chapter for four guys with ties all the way back to Europe’s premier Straight Edge Hardcore band Sportswear in the 90s, and further. Three decades of Hardcore, plain and simple. With the name-baring singer, Peter Amdam, no longer here, vocals have been split between Espen and Arne. The EP is a combination of material written whilst the band was a 5-piece, and newer songs. Recorded in two sessions in Gothenburg, Sweden, last year. This record is a homage to the deep furrows carved out by the North Atlantic ocean along our shores. And the sunsets that fade into the colour blue. It deals with the loss of our loved ones - in remembrance and mourning. It is also a celebration of hope, endurance, intent, urgency, and an alarm for the state of our world today.) 16.00

FORWARD - Future Troops LP (540 - 540 Records and Todo Destruido are proud to present the latest call to arms from Japanese punk legends FORWARD. Featuring ten new tracks on a single disc, the release is the band’s first LP in six years and only their fourth in a storied twenty-two year career of state-of-the-art, nitro-fueled Japanese hardcore. Established in 1996 from the ashes of the much revered DEATH SIDE, vocalist ISHIYA and bassist YOU formed Forward, along with members of INSANE YOUTH and more. Building upon the teachings of UK metal-punk legends Discharge, Forward’s unique “intelligent savage” approach to hardcore was and is decidedly their own, nodding at the work of Poison Idea, Anti-Cimex and others while forging an ironclad path strictly through word of mouth, DIY gigs and underground channels. Future Troops is a taut and explosive collection of tracks that spin yarns of police brutality, calls for peace, rumors of war, injustice, the effects of the Tokyo Olympics and more in a compact and tense 25 minutes of vitriol. You’ve never heard anything as furious as “A.C.A.B.,” you won’t be able to unclench your fist after “Tokyo Orympic,” “Hatered Union” or “Piece of Peace,” and the world won’t soon forget Future Troops. Limited to 500 copies only.) 20.00

GERANIUM - Fear Is The Enemy LP (contraszt - GERANIÜM from Strasbourg/Besancon (France) celebrate their 10th year anniversary this autumn and take this opportunity to bring us their second full length album called “fear is the enemy”. Even though there had been some lineup changes, they stick to their unique style: A dark blend of Crust, 90s Screamo and Black Metal. With giving the songs room to develop, they create a soundscape of anger and despair. You could name ALPINIST, FINGERPRINT or MADAME GERMAN as musical influences, but I guess if you’re more or less into dark and blackened Hardcore you’ve heard about this band from France anyway. The Record comes in a huge three foldout screenprinted Cover.) 13.00

GRAVE FLOWERS BONGO BAND - Flower Pot LP (permanent - "Hey man, could you use a little serenity? GRAVE FLOWERS BONGO BAND thinks we could all use a little and they’re here to give it to us. In order to enjoy this record, you don’t have to get dressed. In fact, it’s probably better that you don’t. And you definitely don’t need to leave the house. This record is best experienced in the comforts of your own home, just as long as your home is as peaceful as it should be. If it’s not, Flower Pot should be enjoyed naturally. The organic vibes the Bongo Band project are just as soothing as they are psychedelic. There’s a lot going on here, but the record also feels very simplistic, like a more modern take on Ted Lucas, Sam Gopal, or Tyrannosaurus Rex. The journey is largely acoustic and serene, but the electric and slightly more chaotic moments compliment the rest of the instrumentation like honey on granola. Flower Pot is the perfect soundtrack for your next sacrificial effigy burning, but it’s also a record that you can make out to. It’ll ease you into the day or take you away after a long night. A perfect prescription for whatever ails you. I’m sure it’ll blow your mind, regardless of your mental state. Side note: It’d be a goddamn shame if the Bongo Band doesn’t turn into a cult, or at least develop a cult following." Edition of 150 copies packaged in hand-assembled, paste-on jackets.) 25.00

HILDEGARD VON BINGE DRINKING - Infinity LP (ichi -Imagine Zombi meets Jean-Michel Jarre. Würzburg goes outer space or the return of the nuns. Eight tracks, all ending in locked grooves. One side plays on 33, the other one on 45. Cover design by Samantha Muljat.) 20.00

INFINITE VOID - Endless Waves LP (contrastz - INFINITE VOID's final, posthumous recordings has been reanimated and clawed its way from the grave to consume our brains with its brilliants. Formed in 2010 from past and present members of The Diamond Sea, Deep Heat and Circuits, INFINITE VOID from Melbourne / Australia played a gritty and melodic tangle of dark, edgy punk, Australian garage and 90's indie rock driven by brilliant guitar interplay and infectious girl/ guy vocals. Recorded and mixed by Steven Smith at Goatsound Studios on Wurundjeri Land over 2 days in March 2017. Mastered by Steven Smith in March 2018. Cover art by Lou Ellen Cormick. The album is a must for fans of Wipers, For Against, Sleater Kinney, Sonic Youth and alike.) 13.00

INTENSE MOLECULAR ACTIVITY - I.M.A. LP (dark entries - IMA (Intense Molecular Activity) is the duo of Don Hunerberg (synthesizers) and Andy Blinx (drums and percussion). Based in New York City and active between 1979 and 1982. Don, a studio Sound / music engineer and musician, Andy an electronic clothing designer, drummer and sound reinforcement engineer at downtown clubs like Max's Kansas City, Mudd Club and CBGB. In between doing sessions at Radio City Music Hall Studios for groups such as Ramones, Richard Hell, Sonic Youth, Liquid Liquid, John Zorn, Glenn Branca and many others, IMA took advantage of off hours to create their own music. As far as influences go, Don's background was in electronic music and Andy's in prog rock. To produce the songs, Don used his own method of creating patterns from 2-track tape loops and then edited them together on to a 24-track recorder adding more tracks of overdubs, In a very similar way that sequencers are used today.  By 1980 the duo honed their own unique sound and version of Post Punk and No-Wave with the tools of the trade of the early 80s. Situated above the proscenium of the Radio City Music Hall stage, the studio was outfitted with a variety of orchestral instruments (timpani, bells, xylophone, etc). They self-released a 4-song EP titled “IMA” on an 8” flexi-disc which was distributed by Ed Bahlman of 99 Records. The music bridges the wild psychedelic-rock of the 60s, the synth-punk of the late-70s and the elaborate constructions of progressive-rock. There are nods to the freak-outs of Chrome and the super neurosis of Suicide, but IMA takes a more clinical approach which also takes notice of Hawkwind and Pink Floyd's interstellar overdrive. We’ve added 4 bonus tracks recorded during the same studio sessions and included them here for the first time on vinyl. DJ Hell lifted elements of IMA's song "Blurb" virtually intact and uncredited for his electroclash club hit "Keep On Waiting" 20 years later. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley. The record is housed in an exact replica of the original jacket featuring a spray painted IMA tag a top a red dashed “Do Not Enter” sign. Each copy includes a double-sided postcard with notes. This Album Is dedicated to the memory of Andy (Blinx) George.) 20.00

JON EDIFICE - s/t LP (funeral party - Anonymous and obscure outfit Jon Edifice offers up a deceivingly effortless and vaguely hopeful collection of striving post-punk hymns for a latent generation. This is the sound of comfortable encounters; it rolls across the eardrums and simply makes sense. There is no challenge here, what you hear is exactly what you get, it’s like showing up at the same job you have worked for the past 10 years or falling into bed at the end of the day. The problem is, once you get too accustomed to something change can be hiding just around the corner; ready to slap you across your smug face. Don’t take anything for granted, it might not be there for you in the morning. Jon Edifice is the soundtrack to taking the tried and true and making it vibrant and entertaining once again. - Sam Vince/Down And Out Zine) 20.00

JOHNNY JEWEL - Vapor DLP (italians do it - Beyond the decay of ruins hums the subtle sound of Vapor, a suite of dystopian instrumentals by Italians Do It Better visionary Johnny Jewel. His trademark analog synthesizers have never sounded more crystalline, their landscape never more evocatively barren. Chiming bells slowly twirl like the rusted music box of a child’s nightmare, a pitch-black bleak that is utterly frightful—Jewel channels the beauty & horror of a world that long ago abandoned its own destiny. This is a fever dream flashback. The kind that strikes you in the blur of night & refuses to weaken its grip until the sheets are drenched in sweat. This soundtrack is as elegant as it is violent, conjured in the deepest blacks & most vivid reds. These 21 celestial tracks clock in at just over an hour. Warping wind from a spiraling pinwheel…The sound of dust in the Garden of Hera, walking the tightrope between Life & Hades. The thin line that divides the Heavens from the Earth. Breathe Deep.) 31.00

KRUKH - Absurdity! LP (fallen empire - “Shadowed, hypnotic, subaltern view of reality. Things look different from your knees, in the gutter, without hope; abuse coming from all around and inside. Yet above even us outcasts the stars shine coldly, limning hell with shimmering silver.”—Dave Aftandilian) 23.00

LACE - Human Condition LP (funeral party - Crawling out of the darkness in early 2016, Houston's Lace grabbed several lifetimes of depression, displacement, and outsider feelings, and stuffed them into one-minute blasts of brutal, lo-fidelity hardcore. Months after forming, their six song demo "My Mask Is Off" caught the attention of press and punks worldwide with its unrelenting power and unhinged non-production. The recordings were bleak, desperate and dripping with an almost starving urgency and that dark energy carried over into the band's gratingly loud live shows. Still very much outside any scene or subculture, even in their own town, the band played rarely, toured minimally, and opened for like-minded acts like Total Abuse, Dropdead, Protomartyr, and Elysia Crampton when they rolled through Texas.) 20.00

LENA HESSELS - Billow LP (terp - Born in December 2000 in the Witte Villa in Wormer (NL), Lena Hessles grew up in the midst of music. Her father Terrie is The Ex’s guitarist, her mother Emma played violin and they both run the adventurous Terp label. Musicians like Han Bennink, Sonic Youth, Konono No.1, Getatchew Mekuria and many more stayed in the house regularly. She visited Ethiopia starting when she was three and many times after for many music projects. When Lena finished high school this summer, she was very determined to make her own record straight away. She "locked" herself up in the top room where she started a little studio. After three weeks writing, practicing, recording and recording again, she was finished. Billow is ready! LP LIMITED TO 500 COPIES AND COMES WITH POSTER!   “Please tell Lena I listened to her CD and the informal, personal approach reminded me of some of my favorite people, like Scout Niblett, Cat Power and Azita Yousseffi. There’s something nice about hearing somebody making up their own kind of music without playing the mix-and-match game from other people’s music, and I hope she continues. I also tend to like records recorded at home. There’s a lovely album that came out a few years ago by Molly Drake, who was Nick Drake’s mother, just her singing at the piano, recorded at home very simply. It was never released in her lifetime, probably very few people heard it, but it’s extremely nice for the same reason.” - Steve Albini, 10/2018) 18.00

LUNAR MANTRA - Genesis LP (fallen empire - Forged under fire and water, LUNAR MANTRA is a visionary guide and aural journal of the arcane steps we take, undergoing metamorphosis of divine evolution. The Art fortified by praxis leads us with Her withered hand in divine inspiration, channeling evocations of the Threshold, and darkest thought-forms of man. A Nightside odyssey through the formless void. Genesis is the initial emanation on the unfoldment of this journey.) 23.00

THE MARKED MEN - On The Other Side LP (dirtnap - On The Other Side collects all non-album tracks released by The Marked Men, originally released in the period between 2003 and 2010 on labels such as Dirtnap, Swami, No Idea, Shit Sandwich, and Mortville, plus two never-before-heard unreleased tracks from deep in the vault. It’s hard to believe that it’s been close to fifteen years since Dirtnap first released a Marked Men record. Since then, the label has done close to twenty releases by the band member’s various bands (Marked Men, Radioactivity, High Tension Wires, Potential Johns, Mind Spiders). Counting the releases Mark Ryan and / or Jeff Burke have had a hand in recording, that number goes even higher. It’s a relationship that continues to this day; if there is / has been a “flagship band” for the label, Marked Men and their various offshoots are it. Although they continue to play a handful of shows each year, the band hasn’t released any new material since 2009 (the last album came out in 2008), and they have no plans to do so, so this compilation is as close to a new album as one is going to get. The band’s affinity for fast, choppy power chords and manic energy is in evidence here, as the band stretches its legs throughout these solid closing credits and shows why they were one of the leaders of a sound that has never gone (or will go) out of style.) 18.00

MAXINE FUNKE - Silk LP (feeding tube - "Silk is the fantastic third LP by MAXINE FUNKE, a New Zealand musician whose first recordings were with the legendary $100 BAND (Funke, Alastair Galbraith, and Mike Dooley!), whose music was drifting experimental dust of a very high order. Maxine's first two solo albums, Lace (2008) and Felt (2012) (originally released as CDR on Galbraith's Next Best Way and a lathe on Epic Sweep, respectively), were reissued by Time-Lag to great acclaim in 2016, securing her place in the upper echelons of contemporary folk inventors. With the release of Silk, Ms. Funke manages to create an album that merges both of these style threads. Many of the tracks are cast in an intimate mood congruent with artists like Sibylle Baier, Barbara Manning, Myriam Gendron, Joanne Robertson, and other women who have pulled sweetly dark sounds from pockets of deep emotion, abetted largely by acoustic guitar. On a few other tracks, electronic instrumentals hearken back to her work with transceivers in the $100 Band days. The balance between these posts is delicately intoxicating. A readymade classic from start to finish, Silk travels a brilliant series of spaceways with grace and assurance. We should all be so lucky." —Byron Coley, 2018. Edition of 400.) 25.00

MOURNFUL CONGREGATION - Book Of Kings DLP (20 buck spin - In 2018 Mournful Congregation dropped their first album in more than six years, The Incubus Of Karma. The widely acclaimed album was heralded as yet another landmark for the extreme / funeral doom genre, adding perhaps the brightest jewel to the band’s crown. The band travelled to both the US and Europe once again to administer last rites to the faithful.  Back in 2011 the band released another monument to melancholy, the stunningly grandiose The Book Of Kings. Landing in Decibel’s Top 40 albums that year, the album was the pinnacle of their progressively-minded dirge to that point and includes what may be the most epic track in a catalog that defines the word, the thirty-plus minute title track that weaves a tale of regality through the life, death, crowning and dethronement of nameless kings. Having begun the year with Mournful Congregation, 20 Buck Spin now sees fit to bookend the 2018 campaign with this gorgeous vinyl edition of The Book Of Kings—a gatefold 2xLP featuring the original artwork and accented with metallic bronze print and a beautiful full-sized 12 page booklet.) 35.00

NED COLLETTE - Old Chestnut DLP (feeding tube - "We were introduced to the music of NED COLLETTE by guitarist Julia Reidy, another Melbourne ex-pat currently based in Europe. Julia's word is good as gravy around here, so we checked out Ned's new work and were blown clean out of our socks. Old Chestnut is a haunting prog-folk song cycle for the ages. Ned's approach to voice and guitar resemble various models at various times. You'll hear smatterings of Leonard Cohen, Lou Reed, Pip Proud in lyrics and phrasing, but these are always just spices, added to the beautifully melancholic vistas Ned arrays before our ears. On the epic track, 'June,' there is a piano part by CHRIS ABRAHAMS o THE NECKS) so perfect in its conception it stops time. Working with longtime drum partner, JOE TALIA, and a few other guests, Collette has made a goddamn whale of an album. The songs are brilliant, the arrangements have an addictively sparse genius, and the production is so full and delicate it reminds us of folks like Jim O'Rourke, Van Dyke Parks and Roger Waters. We are strangely unfamiliar with the bulk of Ned's previous recordings, but it doesn't really feel like it matters that much. With an album as strong as Old Chestnut, his history restarts here."—Byron Coley. Edition of 300.) 30.00

NEO NEOS - Kill Someone You Hate LP (neck chop - “Across numerous micro-projects, the home-recorded mania of Minnesota’s Msr. CONNIE VOLTAIRE centers on punk smeared with smarty-pants petulance and uncontrollable 'problem child' id. As NEO NEOS Voltaire’s most prolific and formidable alter ego, the line between clenched detractor and doe-eyed convert get blurrier with each new dispatch. The kind of sensory-overload gunk that Voltaire specializes in is obviously maddening, but it can be gripping as well. Could a Neo Neos album offer up any substantive answers? In a devilish con, much of NN’s glory stems from its bizzaro-brilliant critique of the freak scene, recasting today’s ‘tweener punk/wave/HC as truly haphazard noise, a messy no-fi babel employing near-edgelord levels of antagonism and bedlam. Terms like 'blown out' or 'cacophonous' or even 'muttonheaded' barely begin cover Voltaire’s strike, yet raving hooks are discernible amid the chaos. The whole trick-bag is inverted as well, with rhythm and bass throb being more prevalent than any requisite guitar screwing. Hell, the album opens with a galling instrumental that somehow serves as a nose-thumbing dissection of modern-day punk tropes, a theme carried throughout the program, always guided by Voltaire’s spasms and helium yowl. Neck Chop is pleased to publish Neo Neos’ newest news as part of our year-end operations. Jucy Lucy not included.”) 18.00

NIGHT SINS - Dancing Chrome LP (funeral party The long-awaited third LP from Kyle Kimball (Nothing, Salvation, Death of Lovers). Nine new tracks of gloomy post-punk. The contemporary classic darkwave band NIGHT SINS, haling from Philadelphia, have finally released their third LP and first on Funeral Party Records, Dancing Chrome. This is their first album release since 2013’s To London Or The Lake. Crisp synths, deep vocals, and a gloomy post-punk intensity rarely matched. Interlude tracks have evolved to a noisier, slightly more industrial sound. A very exciting listen.) 20.00

ORANG ORANG - s/t LP (contrasz - ORANG ORANG, consisting of members of the best bands that Göttingen/Bielefeld/Kassel have to offer, play a noisy weird & chaotic interpretation of hardcore / punk in the vein of early Ceremony or Trash Talk. What seperates them from the mentioned is the incredible voice of the singer, that's bursting of coolness and adds a good portion of manic pop to the music. ) 12.00

PAST - Sama LP (contrastz 2nd album of Warsaw based coldwave / post-punk band PAST! Influenced by sound of 80′ coldwave / punk music, this new record is darker and colder than their outstanding debut album with more lyrical references to depressive cruel reality. Coldwave appeal, in the same vein as Siekiera, at times reminding of X-Mal Deutschland. Perfect fusion of energy, melancholy and touching melodies – so specific and integral elements of this amazing band!) 13.00

PROCESS BLUE - Process Blue LP (dark entries - Process Blue was formed in the fall of 1981, at Antioch College near Dayton, Ohio. The group essentially consists of Chel White (tapes, keyboards, percussion) and Dan Gediman (keyboards, vocals, bass). Additional members contributed at various points to both recorded works and live performance. Process Blue's original interest was in electronic music and the interfacing of electronic sounds with acoustic instruments, non-musical instruments, and tape-manipulated sounds. The group's primary objective has been to strive for creative experimentation within the format of contemporary pop music.  We are proud to release a 12-song LP featuring music recorded between 1981 and 1982. 7 of the tracks were originally self released on a cassette album in 1982. The only song in this batch to ever appear on vinyl is “Control Panel” released on a French LP compilation called “Folie Distinguee Alternative Funk.” The songs range from experimental dance music to quieter, more melodically-oriented pieces. They used an array of synthesizers used were Moog Sonic-Six, Casiotone MT-30, Korg MS10, Roland SH 101, Casio VL Tone. Analog instruments included electric guitar and bass, and drums. Guest musicians included Gil Belton (melodic rototoms percussion and synthesizer bird sounds) on Industrial Park, Eric Zimmerman (Korg synthesizer) on Up to $100 and Subterrania, Patricia Yarborough (vocals) on Pink Razor and Air, Mike Pummel (engineer) on Control Panel, and John Flansburgh (of They Might Be Giants) engineer on Up to $100. All songs have been remastered by George Horn at Fantasy Studios. Each LP is housed in a jacket designed by Maycec featuring original drawings by Chel White and include a double-sided insert with photos and lyrics.) 20.00

ROHT - Iðnsamfélagið Og Framtíð Þess LP (iron lung -Iðnsamfélagið Og Framtíð Þess which roughly translates to "Industry and its Future", is taking the oddity and isolationism of hardcore punk and industrial noise and smashing them even further together than they did on previous releases. This is the sound of a band perfecting its approach to the world. And we can't get enough. At first listen it is what seems to be a simple formula of bass, noise, drums and vocals but as you continue to listen, delicate layers of depression, life, anger, creativity, emergence and deconstruction begin to unfold until you find yourself trapped in a dystopian clamor void of hellish nothingness. Industry and its future indeed. 350 copies on black vinyl housed in a 24pt reverse board jacket with printed inner sleeve and download card included.) 20.00

SAETIA - Collected DLP (secret seven - back in stock - Saetia disbanded after only three years (1997-2000), but in that short amount of time they created music that would live on to become the forefront of the genre. In their short time, Saetia released a demo cassette, two 7"s and one LP with pressings of very small numbers. This collection will finally make available the entire discography for vinyl lovers. 2xLP inclues digital download.) 28.00

S.B.F. - Same Beat Forever LP (neck chop - S.B.F. are a twitching Los Angeles duo made up of CRUZ SOMERS (recognizable via singles under his own name as well as SOCIALITES) and RAY SCHMIDT (RACE CAR), two insular and prolific punks with penchants for punky home-recorded noize. After joining forces in 2016, S.B.F. immediately launched their stun offensive via singles on Drunken Sailor and Goodbye Boozy, surfing praise from the jump. Their recognizable racket—tough punk with electronic twists and stabs—sounds a tad harsher than most of their counterparts, with one member supplying a hook while the other drags it across concrete. With smart and jarring sleights of hand, S.B.F.’s approach combats the very notion that synthetic instrumentation commands electro and/or synth punk classifications. Though their sound is rightfully centered on programmed drumbeats, it’s the dual-guitar punk acrobatics that the duo seems infinitely more concerned with, with guitars alternating between buzz and bludgeon in menacing fashion. This tilt in formula makes S.B.F.’s sound panicked, darkly cinematic and very punk/ Techno toys be damned. This one’s for all the late-nite droolers out there—those that wake the neighbors on weeknights and never ever apologize for it.) 18.00

SCIENTIST - In The Kingdom Of Dub LP (superior viaduct - Hopeton Brown, better known as Scientist, has been a pioneering figure in the world of dub for 40 years. His early love of electronics proved fruitful when (still a teenager) he was hired at King Tubby’s studio in Kingston. Brown quickly ascended the ranks and became heir to Tubby’s throne, producing imaginative and technically impressive mixes that solidified his forward-looking nickname. Originally released in 1981, In The Kingdom Of Dub remains one of the best early LPs in Scientist’s long career. Produced by Roy Cousins at Channel One and featuring Sly & Robbie along with members of The Revolutionaries, The Aggrovators and The Soul Syndicate, the album offers a wide range of arresting rhythms, bold effect drops and exquisitely melodic bass. From “18 Drumalie Avenue Dub” (a reference to King Tubby’s address) to “Burning Sun Dub,” Scientist lays down a veritable roadmap of dub —filled with disintegrating echoes of satiny organ and textural guitar—firmly cementing his place as one of the true innovators in Jamaican popular music.) 20.00

SCOTT HIRSCH - Lost Time Behind The Moon LP (scissor - Songwriter and multi-instrumentalist / producer Scott Hirsch has recorded a follow up to his critically acclaimed 2016 record, Blue Rider Songs. On Lost Time Behind The Moon, Hirsch chronicles confronting ghosts of the past, acknowledging that darkness rides alongside the light, and avoiding the pitfalls of regret. The record was recorded and produced by Hirsch with the help of Mike Coykendall (M Ward), and features musical guests William Tyler, Mikael Jorgensen (Wilco), Orpheo McCord (Edward Sharpe), Jimmy Calire (America) and Jesse Siebenberg (Lukas Nelson, Supertramp).  Scott Hirsch’s name is one you’ll find lurking in the liner notes of many admired recordings from the late 1990s to the present. As a founding member of Hiss Golden Messenger, he was integral to the band’s first five records, lending his sonic imprint on their productions, as well as shaping the sound of the live outfit, having toured heavily through the formative years of the band. Much of this work is reflected on the forthcoming Merge Records box set entitled Devotion: Songs About Rivers And Spirits And Children. Along the way he produced and played on records by Kim Krans’ Family Band, as well as recording a Grammy-nominated record by the legendary folksinger Alice Gerrard. Having stepped off the demanding tour schedule of Hiss in 2016, new pathways opened up for Hirsch to fully engage in the craft of songwriting. On this second record, his production tones and songwriting talents are in full bloom.   “I think of Lost Time Behind the Moon as Scott’s masterpiece, because everything I know about him is in these songs, the groove and the wonder.” —MC Taylor (Hiss Golden Messenger)) 20.00

SKAPHE - Untitled LP (fallen empire - Born as a new project from A.P. (ALEX POOLE of CHAOS MOON, ESOTERICA), SKÁPHE released an acclaimed, eponymous debut full-length of experimental black metal via Fallen Empire Records in 2014. Untitled features the extended track "VII" “’VII’ is no less than 22 minutes of pure, swirling black metal madness. Essentially picking right up where the previous album left off, here we're treated to an extremely hypnotic and satisfying brand of psychedelically-infused black metal. Not quite the spacey, bouncy variety of bands like Oranssi Pazuzu or Angst Skvadron, but more the "wobbly," chaotic brand explored by those like Arizmenda or Wormlust. Even so, despite the similarity to the latter two, Skáphe remain a tricky, unique monster, one that can easily stand on its own two feet and legitimately say ‘this is our sound’.”—Metal Storm) 20.00

SPELL - The Full Moon Sessions (Expanded Edition) LP (dark omen - The Vancouver-based power trio Spell have wasted little time proving themselves the new masters of the metaphysical. Their first record for Bad Omen For None And All sent shockwaves across the metal underground with its mystical and malevolent brand of metallic witchcraft, in which seventies-styled atmosphere and eighties-damaged drama undertook a dark marriage with satisfyingly timeless results. Yet this was the second chapter in this band’s life proper, and the first—the band’s debut and their rawest, hungriest statement of intent—has gone unreleased in its intended form. Until now, that is. Comprising ten wild and electrifying ditties informed equally by savage finesse and gung-ho intensity, Full Moon Sessions—which was originally released as a six song mini-album in 2014—chronicles an era where these three devotees of the transformative power of heavy amplification (comprising Cam Mesmer on vocals / bass guitar, guitarist Graham McVie, and drummer Lester Spectre) had recently evolved from their earlier incarnation as the thrasher Stryker, henceforth allowing their dreams and passion to run rampant in abundance, which summarily resulted in a document with irresistible anthemic bravura to match its jagged attack. “These songs are born from our youthful struggle to survive, to make ends meet, and to find our place in the world,” reveals Mesmer, “We created this album on almost no budget while working full-time minimum wage jobs and scraping by. It was a labour of love and inspired by hardship—countless late night rehearsals after evening work shifts, followed by early morning shifts on a few hours of sleep. We poured everything we had into these songs, and we’re very proud to see this album finally released in it’s full form, all these years later.”) 24.00

SUNWATCHERS & EUGENE CHADBOURNE - 3 Characters DLP (amish - SUNWATCHERS teamed up with EUGENE CHADBOURNE for two days of recording in October 2016 which resulted in 3 Characters. These sessions were dedicated exclusively to the music of the MINUTEMEN, DOUG SAHM and HENRY FLYNT. Having never played together before, all the songs were completed in one or two takes and the recordings reflect an urgency and immediacy that audiences have to come to expect from these musicians. The three characters invoked on these recordings offer models for our current political and societal struggles. Creating a music that is both personal and political, artistic and activist, these three figures were/are soulful and practical examples of the artist-as-laborer, addressing a call for social justice and musical spontaneity. Chadbourne and Sunwatchers have taken up this struggle, touring and recording, writing and collaborating, throughout their respective careers. Pushing this ethos out into the field and on this recording, 3 Characters is a reverential labor of love, where musical labor becomes a form of both love and resistance. MIKE WATT joins the conversation with spoken interpretations of lyrics, poetry, speeches and assorted agit-prop.) 28.00

SURFBORT - Friendship Music LP (SURFBORT is a Brooklyn-based punk band that has been active since 2015. Current members are DANI MILLER on vocals, ALEX KILGORE and DAVID R. HEAD JR. on guitars, and SEAN POWELL on drums. This is Fat Possum's first release partnering with Julian Casablancas' (Strokes) Cult Records. "...thrashy and feverish with a healthy dose of sarcasm."— Monster Children) 25.00

THOU - The House Primordial LP (raw sugar On my knees, I offer you that which flies in me. My face to earth, I shout your glory to the heavens. In so surrendering do I conquer. In so yielding do I seize. The first in a series of EPs leading up to the Magus "full length.“) 18.00

THOU - Rhea Sylvia LP (deathwish - back in stock -  Thou is a forward-thinking metal/punk band from Baton Rouge, LA. "Rhea Sylvia" is the first of three EPs the band plans to release in 2018. It is a six-song monster that sees Thou exploring melodious territory with more confidence than ever before.) 18.00

TILE - Come On Home, Stranger LP (ltd appeal - Since 2006, TILE has inundated the diverse Lehigh Valley, PA DIY underground scene with their dynamic blend of angular noise rock, revved-up hardcore punk, and grinding sludge/doom riffage through a plethora of EPs, singles, split releases, and their 2013-released debut LP, You Had A Friend In Pennsylvania. In the Winter of 2017, TILE returned to Shards Recording Studio in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania with owner and engineer MATT MOLCHANY who engineered and mastered the upcoming follow-up LP, Come on Home, Stranger. The dense and varied album packs twelve tracks into forty-two minutes, filling every second of the LP to the edges with their gnarled, varied style. The record is completed with photography by TIM WYNARCZUK of a shoot arranged by the band, in the theme of their prior releases.) 17.00

WILLIE LANE - Known Quantity LP (feeding tube - "Newly remastered reissue of WILLIE LANE's 2009 solo guitar LP, Known Quantity, originally released on his own Cord Art label. Over the last few years, this album has been requested at the store more often than just about any other, but it sold out not long after it was issued and has risen in price consistently since that time. Listening to Known Quantity, it's not hard to understand why it has such a strong rep. Lane came out the Hampshire College scene that aligned itself with the Apostasy Records crowd (Krefting, Shaw, Rosenblum, etc.). His first known recordings were actually with some of the noisier experimental units associated with this cabal. Willie was based in Philadelphia for a long time after college, where he fell in with Jack Rose and the whole Fishtown scene of the early Oughts. Moving back to the Valley, Willie also began working with Matt Valentine's tribe, and his first solo album,Recliner Ragas, was issued as a C.O.M. CDR in 2006 before getting vinylized by the Humito label in 2012. And keen listeners out there will detect a certain 'Spectrasound' feel to some of the electric passages here. The music on Known Quantity is a buttery mix of electric and acoustic string aktion. SAMARA LUBELSKI plays bass on one track, but it's all solo apart from that. And it's a wonderland of textures and sound shapes. Some of the pieces are almost straight ahead (somewhat more in tunes with the work Willie does when he plays live), but others are as wobbly and jagged as a drunk peacock. It's an amazing record, and rewards multiple listens with constantly unfolding details. MAX MILGRAM (from Watery Love) did the new cover art (based on the original LP's photographic frontispiece) and the mastering by CARL SAFF is mighty nice. Enjoy..."—Byron Coley, 2018. Edition of 500.) 25.00

V/A - To Catch A Ghost: Field Recordings from Madagascar LP (sublime frequencies - This is Sublime Frequencies' second volume of transcendent musical field recordings from central and southern Madagascar, produced by CHARLES BROOKS. Like the grand beauty and wonder of its flora and fauna, Madagascar's music is completely unique. Whether the tempos are fast with polyrhythmic precision or slow in the form of a Kabosy ballad, once one gets familiar with its sound, it can never be mistaken again. Charles Brooks has been traveling to Madagascar and living with these spectacular artists for many years and has managed to document countless examples of their work, and regardless of how formal or informal a recording is made, the results always turn out magical. Performers include: Kavoria Lappella, Soa Vinelo Soando, Vonarivo M'Bola, Gilbert Peramena dit Bera, Zara Jean Paul, Randriana Solo, Mahalid Destin,M'Beamdala, Prosper Razafimamdimby, Melina Soulala, Dabaro and Ranasoa Velonjoha. Limited edition LP with two-sided insert featuring images of the artist and highly detailed notes of the recording sessions.) 27.00

TAPES

CAP'N JAZZ - Burritos, Inspiration Point, ... TAPE (Burritos, Inspiration Point, Fork Balloon Sports, Cards in the Spokes, Automatic Biographies, Kites, Kung Fu, Trophies, Banana Peels We've Slipped On and Egg Shells We've Tippy Toed Over is Cap'n Jazz's first and only full-length album, originally released in 1995 on Man With Gun Records. Undoubtedly one of the most influential albums ever to be released (if not of all time, then definitely of 1995), Burritos... has spawned more bands than words in its title. Often shortened to just Shmap’n Shmazz, the record was released when the members — Tim Kinsella, Mike Kinsella, Victor Villarreal, Sam Zurick, and Davey von Bohlen — were mere teenagers, with future bands such as American Football, The Promise Ring, Joan of Arc, Owls, Owen and more but a twinkle in the eye of their collective discographies.) 9.00

LEXICON - 5 Tracks Demo TAPE (iron lung - Nearly inhuman levels of rage and power from Seattle's newest noise punk outfit featuring Madam KJ on (first time ever!) vocal shredding duty. Recorded by Jose Mora. Mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth. Art by Devin McKernan.) 8.00

CD

CHROMATICS - Camera CD (italians do it - “I Want To Be With You…But Sometimes Life Becomes Too Real…I Want To See The Things In My Heart I Know I Feel.” The opening track is a love song written from the perspective of the camera, asking to be held up to see the world through the eyes of its user. CHROMATICS’ dense electronics are anchored by the intimacy of RUTH RADELET's vocals. Framed by negative space, this is pop music from the blurry hours. She softly sings, “I write a song in my head, pretend that I’m lying in your arms.” The music is minimal and bare, layered with sparse percussion. The Camera EP features unreleased material, including a haunting take on Dear Tommy’s title track and the midnight mood of “Flashback To Forever.” Deluxe CD version features 25 minutes of unreleased material, featuring long time David Lynch collaborator, DEAN HURLEY's reimagined “Blue Girl” fit for the Silver Screen… The synthesizer heavy club take on “Magazine” stripped of it's guitars from Fien Troch's HOME soundtrack..The midnight vamp of “The Taste Of Blood” & the nightmarish “House Of Dolls” will throttle your pulse.) 10.00
