VIOLENT REACTION 7"
Following a promising demo last year, Liverpool's Violent Reaction finally release their debut 7" ep. Six tracks of undiluted hardcore punk that are more influenced by Discharge, Poison Idea, Out Cold and Blitz than the likes of Youth Of Today, VR is for those who like their straight edge hardcore a little more antisocial.Originally started as a one man project by Tom Pimlott (Sectarian Violence, Nowhere Fast), VR is now playing live with members of Stab and Abolition backing him up. The record comes in an A3 wraparound sleeve and handstamped coloured innersleeves. First press is limited to 326 copies on black vinyl and is a split release with Quality Control HQ.

The follow up to their highly acclaimed "Hard Life" LP (2011), the newest single from Seattle's BIG EYES might just be their catchiest material to date (and that is saying a lot)! This double A-side slab delivers two incredible tracks that will leave you wishing there was a whole LPs worth of new material. With big, poppy riffs and catchy choruses, the East Coast roots of BIG EYES shine through alongside a healthy dose of grit, attitude and tons of energy. Drawing from a range of influences that span across decades of rock and roll - from Cheap Trick and Alice Cooper to the Ramones, Descendents, and The Muffs - BIG EYES bring a refreshing and distinct element to their melodic power-pop-punk sound.
BAD ADVICE 7"
Finally!!! This EP from Richmond's BAD ADVICE has been in the making for the better part of four years. BAD ADVICE features Brandon and Eric from GOVERNMENT WARNING / DIRECT CONTROL on double guitar duties, Tony Bitch and Keith Babe from THE LADIES on vocals and bass, respectively, and Colin from CLOAK/DAGGER behind the drum kit; a Richmond hc/punk all-star group of sorts. Originally formed in 2007, recorded in 2008, finished in 2010, and now released in 2012, this EP still sounds as vital and refreshing as the day these songs were written. While the "members of" tags inevitably perked up people's ears (especially at that time in the late 2000's), BAD ADVICE managed to step out from the shadows of "side project" status by delivering a scathing blend of mid tempo 70's punk and pissed-fast early USHC, both live and now on record. Each member was able to bring to the table the writing and playing styles they perfected with their main bands to create a sound that stood on it's own amidst not only their bands, but their contemporaries as well. If you are a fan of any of the bands listed previously, you will DEFINITELY want to check this out.
BLOODY GEARS Frozen rain 7"
Boston, MA's BLOODY GEARS bring us the long-awaited follow up to their 2010 debut EP, an exclusive 7" single from their forthcoming LP, "Landscapes of Disease", due out in May 2012 on Deranged Records. More atmospheric and brooding than their previous material, the A-Side track "Frozen Rain" finds the band exploring new, yet familiar, territory in the realm of dark and ominous melodic punk. This single version of "Frozen Rain" contains a different mix than the LP version, with added instrumentation. The flip side picks the pace up with two additional non-LP tracks; one of which is brand new and exclusive to this 7", the other a rerecorded version of "Bite the Hand" off of their 2009 demo. Drawing their own sound from punk, post punk, and hardcore, BLOODY GEARS have often been compared to bands like the Wipers, Husker Du, Moving Targets, or Articles of Faith.OD
ILEGAL El aire libre fuera de los ... LP
After a demo and three seven inches ILEGAL finally unleash their debut full length. 12 songs clocking in at just about 30 minutes. Heavily influenced by early Italian and Spanish hardcore bands like WRETCHED or ANTI-DOGMATIKSS their sound brings to mind a time in hardcore where you could still understand what the band was singing about while sounding ferocious.
Recorded analog in Quebec Canada with vocals added digitally later in Germany. Mastered by Joel Hatsat in Florida and housed in a beautiful wraparound sleeve designed by Eugene from CRAZY SPIRIT.
BIRHT DEFORMITY Suburbanized 10"
It is hard to describe your own band to somebody else. I know people like this band but its a record now, not a small little demo tape. I hated the demo tape, the session wasn't fun due to fear and I was drunk and pissed off at the jokes made and it shows when you hear it. Since then, I got my voice down (didn't drink booze when we recorded this!) and gained confidence and well, here's the debut record. Not an LP, but not an EP either so its in between. AJ plays bass now and Nathan and Sean of Culo still hold down the fort on guitar and drums and the guitar tone you loved is still present if not more raw here. Plus Nathan again adorns the world with his art and I feel this is his greatest work yet. I'd like the music to be remembered too, but even if the art only was I'd be content with that. Musically we share more in common with Modern Warfare, Secret Hate, Zero Boys, Social Unrest and Fatal Rage and the Freeze a little lyrically but I also make strange lyric arrangements. BUT, I think we sound like us at the same time and not just sounding like yesterday's tunes. Pressed at Erika and comes with a full color cover, screen printed dust sleeves, hand stamped center labels and a 20 x 20'' full color poster, nothing about this record was cheap.
